Salim-Sulaiman were easily the best background score composers of Bollywood in their time. And like they said, the quality of their scores would only increase when they would compose the album for the movie too. If you ever watch movies like Singh Is Kinng, No Entry, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Chak De India, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, De Dana Dan, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, the Race franchise, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, 36 China Town, or Salaam Namaste, give a little more attention to the background score and you'll really appreciate how much it adds to the film. The background score for all those films was composed by Salim-Sulaiman.

Also the number of times Abbas laughs at his own "joke". It is like a dad joke at this point.

Ya. Add Ram Sampat to the list. Songs were the forte (pun intended) of Saleem Suleiman. Their scoring was little on the nose and hammer leitmotifs with no subtlety. Ex: fashion or Dhoom 2. Love their songs though.
This wasn't part of Y films branding, Abbas... Please please, as a sincere fan of this podcast, I request you to do better research :(

Urjita keeps saying that Parmeet's character in DDLJ was an asshole. I think he was not. Just because he drinks beer, hunts pigeon and talks about other women doesn't make him an asshole. It was also discussed in Pretentious Movie Review by Biswa and Kannan. Amrish Puri's character didn't have a problem with him when he says he is going for hunting. But when he hunts the pigeon that Amrish's character likes then he has a problem. He is shown to be a little bit negative when he talks about other women in front of Raj's dad. But that's how guys talk within friends group. Just because he says "Shadi ho jane do fir apki London wali se bhi mil lenge" doesn't mean he is gonna cheat.
Urjitaa is so funny I hope she becomes a successful standup comedian who gets to perform in Madison square garden and gets so busy in it that she leaves this show. May be then i would be able to enjoy this show. Cause her jokes suck but her delivery sucks even more. "DHANNO KYUN LIKHA HAI"
