Here's my take on this MV. Taemin said that this portion of his album was based upon Plato's Theory of Forms. While I understand the concept of this philosophical theory, my 18 YO daughter expresses it in writing better than I could, so here is how she explained it: "I think Taemin is chasing after the idea of "Taemin." Just like Plato's world of forms, there is an intrinsic idea of the "identity" of "Taemin." Taemin is chasing after this identity to reach higher levels of "Taemin-ness." Just as we have an idea of a chair, (a throne is considered a type of chair because it has "chairness"), so Taemin has the idea of "Taemin-ness" As Taemin tries to go further in his discovery he realizes that it is impossible to reach true "Taemin-ness" because it's perfect, and perfection is impossible for the flawed human to reach. Only a higher power made the concept of a "chair" or the concept of "Taemin" and only perfection is able to realize them." In other words, Taemin, through this new album, has stepped up a level into a newer and better "Ego" by abandoning and leaving his former "Ego" behind--the Ego who thought he was the messiah or could bring forth the messiah (perfect Taemin) through sheer will alone. YES this whole album has such a wonderful High Concept about identity and finding one's self. Taemin is constantly striving for the perfection of "Taemin", but humans are inherently flawed so his dream will never truly be realized (in this sense). Striving to become "Taemin" is both his driving force and inspiration AND a source of pain and isolation, which will eventually lead to his demise. Act II is him seeing who he was, who he has become, and accepting his fate as an Artist and submitting himself to the artistic pursuit of "Taemin" completely. I love Taem-theory 😆

if you think about it 2kids, criminal, and idea all connects to each other. 2 kids was when taemin was at a low point. then we got criminal when he was... Watching this MV I was more focus on the fluidity of the sound in connection with the movements and visuals. To put it in simple, palatable terms: Taemin is burning up with the passion for uncovering his Ideal self and leaving his past self behind. He said in the video he is somwhere in between hell and heaven. Also he is kinda protraying his old self and his new self. He said this is related to Plato's theory of Forms where he looks for his "identity", that's why IDEA is pronounced in that way (greek). His brain is so big, and he comes with the best concepts. In my opinion that's what makes him so unique.

The concept is officially said to borrow from Plato's Theory of Form, specifically, the Theory of Ideas. To put it in simple, palatable terms: Taemin is burning up with the passion for uncovering his Ideal self and leaving his past self behind.
