GRIPA (Girringun Region Indigenous Protected Area) 2022

2023 marks a 10 year anniversary for the implementation of the Girringun IPA (GRIPA). IPA Coordinator Whitney Rassip now our CEO of Girringun commenced community consultation with Traditional Owners from the nine groups to commence a review of the IPA Management Strategy. An important part of GRIPA is the portion of land handed back to Girramay descendants from the late Suzie Smith. Her legacy lives on in Yabullum a nature reserve that is now under the protection of the Girringun IPA.
