  • Its Throwback Thursday! This series is designed to encourage us to break into our dusty older paper collections and use them to make something new and fresh.
Today we're making a Stamperia Garden Box Pocket card. I call this an "inside out" card because the clear acetate pocket is on the front of the card. I'll show you how to make the pocket, create a paper lollipop, bookmark and use scraps to create patchwork paper panels in this in depth, informative tutorial.
You can find a linked supply list on my blog at:

Oh, my goodness! That lace is beautiful!! Very clever way to create a bookmark. By the way, some of us find ourselves doing those stupid things all the time...I'm chalking it up to the mental health issues of this pandemic...my brain just isn't working as well as the months move along. Thinking ahead doesn't seem to work as clearly...sure hope this gets better as we learn to live this new normal!! Thanks for doing a review of the "hot glue glob on a non-stick sheet" way of creating the rosette...I thought this was a genius idea when I first saw someone do this a few years ago. Whoever invented the hot glue gun gets my vote of approval!! Teflon sheet, too! This project turned out great! Experimentation always seems a bit rough, but smooths out as we continue practicing. Thank you for filming your entire creative process...nice to see that a professional paper artist isn't some magical creature with perfection that is unattainable for the rest of us. Well done, Kathy!

Thanks, Martie! I've been surprised at how much my thinking and energy level have been affected by Dale's recovery process. Things are getting better day by day, and I am feeling more confident and relaxed in the studio. There are also fewer interruptions, and that always helps, too. Thanks for the reassurance and the kind words! xo

This is amazing! Just sorted thru my Stamperia stash last night and came across this package of papers yet to be played with! I’m also glad to hear that I’m not the only who likes to talk to myself while I craft...
But I do have to agree with your kids...up at 3:00 or 4:00am?? I thought getting up at 4:45 was crazy but that’s only because I have to be somewhere! 😂😂. ❤️

Yay! So glad you have this pretty paper in your stash, It's one of my favorites from Stamperia. And yes, I talk to myself all the time...and sometimes I even answer myself. LOL All the best people do! :) I try to sleep in...I honestly do...but I seem to have some sort of internal alarm that wakes me between 3 and 4 almost every day. I finally stopped worrying about it. Now I just take a little nap around 3 each afternoon, and life is good!

Hi Kathy! I absolutely love this project. I think I may have this collection. I don’t have a sewing machine anymore. But one of these days I want to try this project. You have a lot of great ideas my friend. I love watching you get your craft on! I have a question for you. Since you get up at 3 or 4 in the morning are you in bed by 7 or 8 p.m.? I am more of a night owl. I stay up until 11:30 or midnight. Sometimes I get to crafting and I don’t get in bed until 1 a.m. I am still praying for you and your hubby. Hope you got your nap in. Until next time my friend! Blessings

I did get my nap! LOL I"m like a toddler now...I take a little snooze every day around 3PM. Then I fold a load of laundry and get dinner going. I wish I could stay up late at night, but Dale has worked construction for so many years that I guess I've just been trained to get up early and go to bed early. I'm usually out by 9PM. But I love the quiet, pre-dawn hours. I find I can think, pray, and read so much better then than at night. Thanks for your kind words, and for keeping us in your prayers! xoxoxox

I’m so glad to hear your husbands doing ok. He’ll be emotional too. They say that the emotions are in the brain. Not so sure. Wonder if there’s some emotion hormones in the heart that are released with a heart attack. Keep him walking and following drs orders and he should be fine. I worked as an RN in Cardiac Rehab. May the Good Lord bless you both. May I ask what wgt do you use for your envelope that you make. Thanks for your generosity of heart in sharing all you many ideas and art!!! 😘💗

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! We've been walking a little every day as his energy level begins to return. I totally agree with you about the heart/hormone connection! It's a big deal! This paper is 85# weight, so it has enough thickness to stand up to creasing, but not so thick that it cracks. I use 100/110# weight for my folio and card bases as I like how strong they are. Sometimes for matting layers, I'll use 65# cardstock so that I don't end up with a 2 pound card! LOL Hope that helps! And thanks again for taking the time to leave such a meaningful comment! xo
