So thank you so much for your support. As always these episodes will come out to UA-cam weekly. So next Tuesday I’ll be dropping my reaction to episode 2!❤
Wait a minute, you actually think people should be paying you to watch TV? And monthly no less. Are you joking? Please tell me you're joking? Nope, you're not joking, you really do have a Pat page! Are you people retards?
The “poor people” area is not directly underground piltover, but across a bridge (the one they crossed). The underground area is just a portion of the “poor people” area, when they were talking and the moon appeared, they were in the upper portion of the “poor people” area
@@plan_r4005 have you seen Arcane? If so, did you understand Arcane? Because if you just see the surface level stuff, you might think it’s a great show. But if you fully understand the depth of the show and nuances, that’s when you understand it’s a masterpiece
@@jayfrancelf I have, multiple times I’m not knocking it but it’s not on the level of the top shows ever made, it’s just one season, a really good one but just one great season does not catapult it into the conversation with the best shows ever made. It’s good, I’ve recommended it to many people and not a one of them dislikes it. But come on dude this ain’t The Wire or Breaking Bad or The Sopranos or Deadwood or Mad Men or Better Call Saul or Six Feet Under or The West Wing or Homicide: Life on the streets , hell it’s not even at Buffy the Vampire Slayer levels yet, if it can keep up this level of quality in future seasons then sure it’ll be in the conversation but 1 single season does not get you on to that list. Edit: Hell now that I think on it, it ain’t even up with the top cartoons yet. Bojack, Avatar, and especially Cowboy Bebop all stand head and shoulders above it at this point.
@@plan_r4005 We’ll just have to agree to disagree. I’ve seen every show you named (except Bojack Horseman) and I think it’s better or on par with about half of them.
At the end Vi and Powder were looking at the entirety of the city of Piltover, not all of the undercity is actually underground, some of it is above ground, the main focus is the bridge and the river that divides the two sections. Hence the song Powder sings which is about a child from Vi and Powder's side asking for a coin from somone on the more rich side. Dear friend across the river My hands are cold and bare Dear friend across the river I'll take what you can spare I ask of you a penny My fortune it will be I ask you without envy We raise no mighty towers Our home are built of stone So come across the river And find the world below
hi Imon, so the area they live is called "the lanes." Old shipping dock that no longer in use sorta like the Panama Cannel that drains and floods the levels to get ships across, the lanes is dry so they can mine for minerals. Vander used to be a miner. The issue with mining are the natural gases and the pooling of heavier gases at the bottom without proper ventilation. The top of the lanes is uncovered and at ground level so technically they are under ground but below sea level not in ground if that makes sense.
Prior to watching this series, I knew absolutely nothing about _League of Legends._ After this first episode though, I fell in love with the lore. When the series was done, I tried to go and get into the game, but it just wasn't for me. Amazing story though, and I'm glad that they made this series. The world itself reminds me of that old PS Vita game _Gravity Rush_ however, the way it has this fantastical steam punkish kind of vibe to it. Just beautiful all around.
As a long time League player, I feel bad for people who got inspired to play after this show, the community is pretty toxic and is not very welcoming to new players, however, the lore for all of the champions and characters in Runeterra are amazing. The MMO should be coming out soon which would likely be the best place to enjoy the lore and world without having to feel like catching up with league players
The game sucks lol, even active players don’t deny that. But LoL lore has always been top tier, so I’m not even that surprised they were able to make something like this show out of it
@@malikhinds2355 ehh it’s what you make it. I rarely come across toxic people anymore but maybe that’s just because I play arams with friends and co op vs ai. The game does have a large learning curve and it’s definitely not for everyone but that’s ok. What I tell people is that the producer Riot Games has always done phenomenal cinematics and music videos promoting the game and if they’re interested you should definitely check them out, there’s no need to play the game to enjoy the beautiful work they’ve done in media.
@@beyondviolet eh its not everyones cup of tea. Coming from warcraft 3 dota that started it all i still like league just not as much as dota. Game isn't for everyone, but its highly skill based. I never try to get new people into moba's they are the hardest games out their.
This series is one of those that changes your life, when you get done watching the series all the way through you’ll want to go back and rewatch it a few times. There’s definitely a lot of deep topics/ideas that this show presents and you’ll need some time to process a lot of it. It’s hands down one of the most amazing and articulate pieces of animation I’ve ever seen and I hope you enjoy the series as many of us have. And yes this series is very tragic so keep those tissues on hand. I’m excited to join you on this journey!
When I finished this show, you were the main reactor I wanted to see watch it!! With you already connecting to the characters, I can't wait for you discuss how they develop. This show is truly A. Masterpiece. The first two episodes are really about introducing you to the world and the characters, episode three is where the story REALLY takes off...
Same here. I checked the channel to see if I missed the reaction to it, because I watched the show like a year later or something, and surprisingly they haven't reacted to it here yet, but it was only a matter of time. xD
You're one of the few reactors I've seen that noticed how deadly Powder's devices potentially are, and that she could have killed or seriously maimed that kid on the pier if her gadget had actually worked. lol
It's not exactly "under" underground. It's below ground level but they aren't exactly "under" the ground if that makes sense. They're in a trench, or at least 1/4 of the city is. Just think of the whole city (topside and the undercity) in a diagonal landscape like it's resting on a hill where the downtown part of the city goes into a steep decline. They never explicitly explain the layout of the city in the series but you can piece together some dialogues that point to that. Also you can see a glimpse of how steep the trench is if you look at 10:16. At the background you can see the 'V' of the trench.
They're twin cities fyi. It's basically the idea of a lower and upper city of different classes (like most dystopian fiction), but they're technically two places with one exploiting the other. Zaun is in a canyon, while Piltover is at the highest point as a city in the clouds basically. Zaun collects the resources that Piltover uses to further their tech and become powerful/rich. Imagine Dubai versus the outer borders of the country.
When i saw this in my feed i said "ohh nice" out loud! I enjoy all your Community reactions so i look forward for the Arcane ones. And one thing i am already really happy/glad is that you understand fundamental small things (like the Enforcers wearing masks because of the polluted air). This show is incredible, but it´s even more incredible if you recognize and realise all the little hints and details!
A little background that might help to clear some things up: The revolution at the beginning didn't result in the separation of the two cities; they were always separate. Piltover (Topside) is built entirely on exploiting the resources and labor of Zaun (the Undercity), while Zaun remains subordinate to Piltover, and unrepresented on the Council.
You may not have seen it all, but there's really good discussion on good versus evil and what defines both, responsibility versus self care, ambition versus duty, and family versus morals.
I have never met a single person who disliked it. In fact, from where I am, there are two types of people: There's people who love Arcane and think it's a really good show... And people who have not seen Arcane.
Imon! I am so happy you picked up Arcane! I used to watch you during the GoT days. Excited to get your take on what I think is the best written, directed, acted, and animated series ever!

Oh yeah... you're gonna be great for this show. I love a good reactor that strikes a solid balance between keen observation and empathy. Can't wait to watch this one with you! Already subbed. Cheers.
"It's like they don't even want to SEE the poor people -" It's actually kind of amazing you would say that: because that's *exactly* what their logic is. In the canon lore for the game - Piltover is just built vertically - there is no bridge connecting the lower and upper parts. The higher up you go, the richer the people get. And the lower you go - the worse the air quality. At the lower levels, the smog is so thick it's essentially like fog - you can't see into it from far away. The richest in Piltover never even have to *look* at the people upon whom's backs their fortune is made by slaving away in their factories. They call the chemical fog "the grey" in the canon lore - and it is fatal when inhaled for too long in those lowest parts of the city. *Everyone* should be wearing a mask down there - but the poor? They just have to deal with it. :/
I'm beyond excited you're reacting to Arcane! It's such a good show. I can't wait for your thoughts, whatever they might be. I already loved your analysis of the first episode!
the opening song that powder is singing is a interesting piece of world building. it’s a song of reconciliation. the people of the underground making a plea to their “dear friend across the river”. the juxtaposition with the violent uprising suggests that the people of the undercity have been pushed to violence.
