      The simple present tense is a bit tricky unfortunately but I am sure you succeeded to learn it.👍

    If -mi/mı are suffixes, why aren't they written attached to the verb? Is it just a convention? Do the speakers analyse or recognize them as suffixes to the verb or do they regard it as something separate?

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  Рік тому

      Question suffixes can come after verbs, adjectives, nouns, adverbs, basically after anything, and are always written separately. So whenever you see these suffixes are written separately you can understand that they are nothing but question suffixes.

    Hello! Why aren't the personal suffixes attached to the verb instead of the question particle?

    • @midrazh
      @midrazh 3 роки тому +1

      And why the -z is used with Ben and Biz in the questions?

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  3 роки тому +1

      In Turkish, if you are using the question words like "who, what when etc." then the personal suffixes are attached to the verb. Ex: Where do you sleep? - Nerede uyu - r -sun? But for the yes/no questions suffixes are attached to the question suffix. Ex: Do you sleep? Uyu - r mu - sun?

      @@midrazh For positive question sentences the suffix is "r" and for negative question sentences the suffix is "z" for simple present tense.

    I dont understand why you used ir , ır, ur, ür in the video even though it was fine with ar and er?

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  3 роки тому +1

      If the verb has only one syllable ( yaz, sev, koş etc.) then you can use -ar or -er but if the verb has more than one syllable ( katıl, çalış, düşün etc.) then you need to use ir , ır, ur, ür. Thats the grammar rule for simple present tense in Turkish.

    I think "do you know" is "biliyor musunuz"

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  Рік тому +1

      It changes depending on the context but "Biliyor musun?" is more commonly used. 👍
