Jill absolutely hit the nail on the head. It's about the right mix of players, how they work together, and how you manage that as a coach. Vlatko recognizes players with individual talent, but he has completely dropped the ball in terms of how that individual talent works together on the field. You don't get the same sense of togetherness, you don't get that same sense of confidence, etc that this team had under Jill Ellis. I hope with no international windows left that he can tie this all together or it could be a disaster for the US at the WC this summer.
👏🏼 well said. When asked how their teams compare Jill said they both have lots of talent. Jill’s teams played fast-paced, dogged reckless abandon with cheeky attitude. Vlatko’s team is slower-paced, choppy, ugly wins, and devoid of personality. It’s so sad. But Jill’s right, they have more than enough talent to win this summer. The question is can they unify in time?
@@VITALSPARKMEDIA With no international windows left to work with, I highly doubt it. It just seems like the team swagger and knowingness of each other is gone. Seems like this team doesn't know how to have fun anymore with the talent they have.
Honestly, I dislike Vlatko so much! He has drastically dropped the USWNT level down with his horrible decision making not only with the roster but also with his tactics. I dont think this group is capable of winning this 2023 WC. This team does not work well as a wholesome like the '19 group did, and the rest of the world knows it. He destroyed what was once the best women's football team in the world.
Some players may not gel with Jill, but Jill knows how to win. It’s not about being best friends, it’s about winning championships. And Jill does that!
Fun Facts: 1.Jill Ellis was the second only World Cup managers (both men and women) to ever win 2 World Cups in a row with the same country. The other was, of course, Vittorio Pozzo, who led Italy to the 1934 and 1938 World Cups. I think Deschamps in 2018 and 2022 and Billardo in 1986 and 1990 should have mentioned here if they had a good performance in the second finals. 2.If USWNT won the World Cup this year, they will achieve an impossible feat that the mens side didn't: winning three World Cups in a row.
I think Jill was severely underrated as the manager. She didn’t just field talent on the pitch and then ride her way to success. She put a lot more thought and strategy into it. Hope Vlatko is up to it. We’ll see.
She hit the nail on the head. World cups are won by managing the players well. The US have the talent, just not the right coach
And they are lost by not managing the players well. As we have seen.

Which is polarizing ?
They should just hire Jill Ellis as the USMNT coach
That's Debatable: If I were You, I would pick my aunt for a USWNT coach. She is really good to coach. Trust me.
she should still be the USWNT head coach

Dude Pele won 3 world cup in a row with Brazil
@@iroar5982 3 World Cups in a row? In 1962 and 1966, he got injured and sidelined for the rest of the tournament. Brazil got grouped in 1966.
