interesting how in the 90's and 2000's football uniforms had a certain flair to them that seems to be rare today
I'm a huge fan of Mia Hamm, my Dad knew her and she has inspired me to play like her on the national team someday
Should have the full game available.
It is. Simple as looking it up.
Michelle Akers - FIFA Female Player of the Century.
Till this day this always been my favorite USA uniforms of all time. I wish the USMNT would have worn those for the 1994 US World Cup. I'm glad at least the ladies won America's first World Cup wearing those uniforms. It's crazy I always thought the second title they won was there actual first lol. Mia Hamm and Michelle Ackers we're really great in the 90s.
Me too I remember the penalty kick was crazy at the Rose bowl
Michelle Akers...absolute legend!!!!!
Jonny Thong She best USA player of all time, relative to her era. She DOMINATED
She definitely did. Women were afraid of her on the field because her tackles were fearless, she is super tall, and regardless of her Chronic Fatigue she played like a true warrior. True icon of Womeń´s football.
Alexander Platypus She scored 10 goals in that tournament. Wow!
@@daboys1215 and a record of five goals in just one game against Chinese Taipei, Alex Morgan equaled that against Thailand in France 2019.
Jill Ellis absolute legend
To think that Mia Hamm was just 19 in that first tournament.
30 years!
usa the first world champion
The birth of a dynasty 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆
My gosh, this looks like a Junior High School game... the players and FIFA have come a long way.
1991, they were born and were babies. They definitely grew up a lot.
USWNT ⚽ always the best👍😏
gemex excerpt when they didn’t win it in 95 2003 2007 2011
@@bigbrycm6 It's Ok..even the BEST have bad days 😏
@@bigbrycm6they have the most worlds cups and have never finished below 3rd place, what’s your point? Just one of those miserable people that want to drag everyone down with you?
@@dickhitswater4836 they’ve been a big fish in a small pond all these years. We invested into woman’s sports and now the rest of the world is doing the same and caught up with us.
@@bigbrycm6weird cause we just won another gold medal
watta goal!!!!!!!!!!
There's an American party going on, all around the terraces!
Carin Gabarra one of the best players in this tournament 👏🏿👏🏿

why is Pelé greeting them lol. rip
was this game on tv in 1991? What channel in the US?
***** I don't remember it being on tv. If it was, ESPN probably aired it overnight. There wasn't much support for it back then.
***** I just did some searching and it appears that the games were televised by the old sportschannel america. I believe Fox bought them out when they created Fox sports net. Some of those games are here on YT. I have no clue who the announcer is.
I watched the game in 1991 but i can't remember what channel it was on!!
Referee??

placing a big country like usa against a small one like norway is absurd (considering they are both wealthy nations). this will not show who is better. a region in the usa the same size as norway should represent the usa, then we see a result that is closer to the truth.
***** Then why has Germany done so well. 84 million in both men's and women's. Why has China or India never won the Cup in men's or women's.
dekepetrol41 lol did you just say india? they are poor as dirt. china does well in sports... not sure where you are looking (and they will start doing even better because their wealth is new). germany is a highly populated country and has a huge gdp, that's why they do well. you can't look at just one sport, because small nations can be good at several sports... but big/wealthy nations can be good at a lot more. the point is is that usa has way more resources than norway to put into any particular sport. USUALLY usa will be better than norway in any given sport simply because of wealth and population. it is a very difficult concept.
***** of course money can buy talent, that is where you're wrong, except in case of extreme genetics in very simple sports like kenya in track (:
for one thing, small countries can be good in a small number of sports, but don't have as much potential as bigger/wealthier countries. new zealand in rugby for instance is always fighting an uphill battle. also, there is not much competition in rugby, just as there was not much competition in soccer when uruguay was world champions 4 times (not 2). this shouldn't undermine their accomplishments, they are still very impressive... but it would be much harder for uruguay to win the world cup now, and it would be much harder for NZ to win in rugby if it was as popular as soccer.
with united states and norway the example is pretty obvious, climate and norwegiean superiority :P but norway will still be fighting an uphill battle against the usa, usa has the advantage even in winter sports. usually usa will beat them.
i can show you stats if you'd like which shows just how much wealth/population affect results. it is staggering.
south america is not that poor compared to africa and some parts of asia ;) but it certainly isn't as rich as northwestern europe/australia/north america... and these countries normally completely dominate south american teams in most sports. poverty in india is MUCH MORE EXTREME than it is in south america.
Thought you might be interested in knowing that just four years after this World Cup, USA lost to Norway 1-0 in semi-finals, and Norway beat out Germany in the finals and won the Women’s World Cup. 🤷♀️ food for thought
You typed a lot of words there Travis when you could have just written "I'm not familiar with how the World Cup works".
