In my family, those with gum disease invariably have heart disease, diabetes and poor health in general.

A reminder that more and more companies have been adding xylitol and essential oils to oral care products. Xylitol has proven anti-biofilm properties; many (perhaps not most?) have anti-biofilm capabilities.
Fluoride is still added to water and toothpastes, though it's been known for 60 years it's toxic to the thyroid and other organs. Xylitol helps re-mineralize teeth as good as fluoride! The Japanese, Finish and other countries have known this for years.
One thing that I do is alternate between different brands of tooth pastes.
I wonder if bacterial resistance can occur due to the exclusive usage of just one type of tooth paste as it does with one type of anti-biotic.
