Thanks for this, I grew up right off Belair st. and rode my bike through this park ever day in the 80s and 90s with my friends every snow day sledding and snowboarding at tower hill , drank my first 40 oz in that park, smoked my first blunt, met kids there from other neighborhoods to fistfight, so many memories, been out of Brockton over 15 years but it's always home
cool, lol, used to sit in that parking lot there and wait for my weed guy. tons of good memories in DW. caught my first rainbow trout there decades ago
Thanks! I normally include a visit to D.W. Field in my geography course Discovering Brockton at BSU. This video will be a great help as I teach the class completely online this fall.
What your drone footage shows so clearly is the need to put some substantial city resources into algae control and vegetation removal from the ponds, lest they all go the way of Ellis Brett.
its really disappointing. when i lived there for 25 yrs it never looked at all like this. they dont even keep the paths any more for fishing and to feed the ducks... cant blame me for it i was part of the solution. i am not any more because the state decided i do not belong. ($) so i had to leave. i see ppl forming to do things like trash pickup ( which is good but not enough. ) best wishes !
