THANK YOU TOM for taking us along on this fun adventure! It was great to see bits of each ride with your hilarious commentary! 🤪 I don’t know when I’ll get to a park, so I enjoyed it very much! ❤️
I would say you got your money's worth for spending the 16 hours in both parks. But that was a marathon with a lot of experience and knowledge of the park. A once in a lifetime visitor will probably still need 2 days to do it.
What are your thoughts about Disney getting ride of multi pass LL? I saw a graphic another youtuber came up with that showed how LL slows down standby - numbers he used were 30 LL for every 5 Standby. He was proposing if they eliminated multipass and only had this premier pass the standby would move quicker and the premier would be more worth it to those that could afford it. Why would you want to pay $400 and then get stuck waiting in line behind someone paying $30. An interesting perspective.
That was Braydon on Mickey Views. That kid is so intelligent. He is right about getting rid of LL. Hope he aspires to run the Disney Company one day. He would do it right👍😊
Usually at Disneyland I need at least two days and do not feel like I have done everything, so usually would do 3 - but I would also do three days and every day had Genie+ (before it was renamed). Dropping one day for one day with this option may be near a wash when hotel, food, parking, etc is all included - and could still due Lightning Lane Multipass on the second day. The third day ticket and hotel would likely cost $300+ altogether.
I totally agree told my husband same thing. We can now do 2 park hoppers instead of 4 single park days and way less hotel and food. So that may be our game plan next time.
If Smugglers Run's MF was more like the movie MF (example is gunner positions), it would be more fun. The other two positions should be more than button pushing.
Is it worth it is very subjective and depends on what’s important to you and your trip parameters. Example: took our son to May the 4th to celebrate graduation from college the day before. We knew we had 1 day at DHS and then home. In the past, our strategy was rope drop Rise of the Resistance, but we remembered how long and boring that morning line was. So we decided to buy an ILL for Rise. It turned out to be worth it because we walked onto Falcon and then were able to do numerous other things in the first couple of hours and have almost no wait for Rise later in the day. It made the experience better and kept our morning moving with no boredom in a long line.
In order to sell this "properly", Disney needs to be honest about "real" wait times. If you buy this and see an "official" wait time of 60 min and see the "real" wait was only 15 min? Most buyers of this thing will feel ripped off. If cast members are instructed to never tell guests what "real" wait times are and ONLY repeat "official" wait tines? This seems to be a very dishonest product that is often based on deleberate misinformation.
As a former cast member. We could give estimates on what we think the wait will be, however we would typically go by the official times because they are usually accurate, and if they aren’t we would radio in to change it. The only time the times were wrong were when the line went faster or guests stopped turning up, and the wait times didn’t update fast enough. I agree that the wait times system needs to be updated and I completely agree that it’s frustrating for guest, and the cast at the touch points.

I added a night and had no trouble finding hotels with availability. Dining reservations have been easy to find, even ones that are normally hard to get.
One thing we all have to keep in mind is that this premier pass is not meant for the average family of four. It's not priced so that everyone could afford it. If it was, then it would have no value. Everyone would buy it and the lines would be long. Think of it as something similar to the very expensive VIP experience. It's meant for those who might be staying at a premium suite at the Grand Floridian for a couple of days. The money may not be a factor for them, and they don't want to spend the day trying to select lightning lanes. I imagine that only a few of these will be sold each day. Disney is a business. They know that there are some wealthy people that would pay a lot more to skip the lines. That's fine with me. The question of "is it worth it' depends on your financial status. If you are wealthy enough that paying the $400 is about as painful financially as for most of us buying a snack, then it's certainly worth it.
Except that you don't get a premium experience like the VIP that gives you a direct skip the line service. This just puts you in the already full lightning lane line that others paid 40 bucks for.
@@Ratchetfan321 Yeah, that's true. VIP costs a good bit more, though. Also, in Disney World, you're limited to a single park per pass. As I said, though, if you view $400 to be as trivial financially as buying a box of popcorn, then it's well worth the cost.
@@Ratchetfan321who cares about being in the line with those who spent less? There’s no planning necessary - no waking up at 7a to buy and book LLs. No need to get a burner LL in order to get a second tier 1 ride for the day. No need to rope drop and rush the morning. No need to be on your phone all day trying to get better return times. If you have the money, it’s a no brainer.
@@Egg_663 We went to Disneyland for the first time for me since 1982 just last June, and Disney World last week. I don't have unlimited money, but I'd consider it for one day at Disneyland, as it also includes all rides at DCA. It was really hard to get lightning lanes over there vs. Disney World. If we go back to Disneyland, then I think we would purchase it for one day. Never in Disney World, though. Of course, if only those staying at a Disney hotel could buy the pass, then we'd decline. That would be way too much money for us.
I feel like people complain about now having to pay for these services don’t realize it’s our fasting as consumers that it’s still here. If we had collectively said we aren’t going to pay for it and mostly no one bought it, Disney would have either lowered the prices or gotten rid of it all together. I remember watching a video about how Disney tried to do VIP tents in Tomorrowland back in the 90s for a high price but the consumers of those days weren’t having it and it went away fairly quickly. Tom- does getting on every ride quickly, take away from the experience of being present in the park, waiting in the queue, and seeing all the sites and smelling all the smells and hearing all the sounds?
I wondered the same. It seems the focus resumed in tunnel vision. We like to plan listing to the live entertainment like Dapper Dans and the Band. It is nice to go to Tom Sawyer Island and enjoy no crowds and beautiful views. Sometimes we look for hidden Miskeys and chat with Cast Members. There are also great attractions that are not included in this pass.
WDW News, Tom I think this new pass is great for me. I only get to D/land every 15 months or so. Day1, use the pass. Day 2, do all the attractions that don't need a pass . I.E. Fantasyland, Mark Twain, Railroad etc. Day 3, Early morning before "Rope Drop" re-ride a few attractions like Space Mtn. Matterhorn, Big Thunder, Indie. Spend the rest of the day at my own pace in the park do some shopping etc. 5 p.m. Get the bus back to L.A. Airport depart 10 p.m. This $400 pass has just given me 3 days with no stress. Thank you Disney. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I love this option! And here is why… what if I’m from Europe and able to save up enough to go to Disneyland for one day, and my dream is to go on Haunted Mansion but I literally can’t get in on because the lottery, lightening gone, stand by line shut down (like it has been all month), at least this would be an option. I mean I save up for my one trip of a lifetime and I can buy a guaranteed pass to get on the rides. I save up for it.
@WDWNT it happens like 4 times in the video too 😭 Just a full-on conversation about something random. Shows how local and numb the Disneyland audience is
It’s not super hard to do everything, even without fastpass, just so long as you plan properly. My wife and I do it every time we visit land or world. I’m not paying for fastpass, ever.
Good grief... I would love to know how much mileage you put in for those 15 hours.....this is like that old "Dumbo do or die in a day" itinerary that is just not my idea of having a lovely fun day with the family......I kind of agree with Brickey and the Vibes over rides mindset....
What sold me was the comment that you made saying you could spend less on hotel, park tickets, and food since you wouldn’t need as many days to get everything accomplished. Super smart will definitely put this on an Excel spreadsheet and see what the difference would be.
The thing about this option is that it gets exponentially worse the larger your family. A couple or a group of friends who are paying for themselves? Might be a viable option if you want to power through a day. For a family of five? That’s almost a whole other non-Disney vacation It is nice that it includes both parks at DL. Also, it does sound like a much better deal if you could get it on a $300/person day, but it would probably be shorter park hours too to try and squeeze everything into. Still seems stressful to get through everything in one day to get your money’s worth
OMG we were in Disneyland that night and passed by ya. We didn't park hop. but did all LL multi and rode everything and all the regular rides without issues though we rope drop to close. We timed LL multi the same way as you & we saved an estimated 240-ish min. We did pivot a lot to catch the non-LL low wait times. Though Indy scared us as it went down a lot. Luckily we made it. For Rise we did standby.
I have said this so many times. While most of these UA-cam channels clutch pearls and participate in the outrage on everything Disney comes out with, Disney tourist are celebrating. My daughter was so happy to hear about the premium (whatever it's called) plan because we can actually wake up in the morning like we're on vacation and still skip lines of what we want. The time is more than worth the money to have a better vacation. Would I love to go to Disney for the cost of going to the movies? Sure. But the demand hasn't stopped.
I don't care for the paid skipping. It's like spending $40k on a Tesla with air con seats but then Tesla charges you $10 a month to access them air con part of the seat. Even at UNI you get free line skip is stay at a certain tier hotel. But not a WDW. So I dumped my 5000 DVC points, dropped the APs and will only visit WDW for a day or two instead of our normally 12-14 days.
I have never been to Disneyland and will probably only get to go once or twice in my life. I would pay for this as an adult with no children, but for families and frequent visitors I totally understand how it wouldn’t make sense.
So you have to use the app to redeem each lighting lane?? I thought you could be off your phone completely with this pass and never look at it all day.
Definitely agree it is more for people with more money than time - and "time" also meaning willingness to do the work to maximize their time, use of LLMP, etc - basically willing to pay to have a simpler trip ... just ride the ride when you want to, no prebooking, etc. Definitely not for the average guest for for some, in certain situation, it can make sense
“For two (Anaheim) Parks, we’re gonna like this a hell of a lot more than…” “If you can afford it, then…” “Much cheaper than a VIP tour”. Come on- rolling out LL Premier Pass without abolishing LL Single Pass / LL Multi-Pass means Disney only cares about its pay to play patrons.
Who the heck said Screamin' was part of the reason for its failure? I remember as a kid going to DCA and finding most of it a joke but always loving Screamin'.
I realized that with no context, this probably sounds concerning 😂 this is what Tom has called the Jack Jack cut outs on Incredicoaster, and I think of it every time I ride now lol
OK, not having Tom on his phone constantly trying to figure out what ride is next is totally worth $400 lol. That was a very relaxed 20+ ride day, even had time to take breaks and just take it slow. Could have easily done some other rides if that was the goal. As a non local I can see the value, I can now do Disneyland resort in one day and free up time to do other things.
I’ll address an ethical issue that is specifically part of this. Not only is DAS a very narrowly approved access for part of the disabled population, the accommodation at individual rides for disabled persons who do not qualify for DAS is being reduced, and even warned by Cast Members that people with mobility issues should expect the return time accommodation to completely disappear (I was told this by a CM at Jungle Cruise). And considering that when being denied DAS, disabled patrons are encouraged to pay extra for Lightning Lane to skip the lines, or to rent a scooter from Disneyland and use it only in the ADA accessible ride queues. So what does and can this mean for disabled quests? It sets an addition premium on handicapped patrons in order to have equitable access to rides. And if Disney decides to discontinue the non-premier level Lightning Lane categories, it makes it 4 times more expensive for handicapped patrons to access rides. Some people will say that Disney will never do that. However, once the Premier passes do well, it will clog the Lightning Lane access, also further delaying the standby, and the only way for Disney to offset this is to remove all non-Premier levels of LL access. This will leave the disabled population with only an expensive option to obtain the legally required “reasonable accommodation” under ADA. And we aren’t talking about someone who would rather not stand, we are talking about individuals who are unable to walk long distances, unable to stand for extended period, or even confined to a wheelchair. And only a few ride lines in Disneyland are wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible, even if the ride vehicle can accommodate the disability. That reduces the handicap population to a second class status, unless they want to pay an extremely high, often prohibitively high premium to be able to experience the parks. This is a huge ethical dilemma for Disney! And don’t get me started on the handicap parking failures.
I was very confused. I thought this was the one for Disney World at first and it just launched today. I was thinking you got through everything and already had a video out.
People are crazy spoiled. 45 minutes for Rise is a jump in line for me. I remember when there was no Fast pass and lines for Space Mountain were 2-3 hours.
It would depend on how many people are in your party. Not worth it if I have to pat for me & 3 kids. If I only had to pay for myself it might be worth it.
Personally, I don’t think you should have to share the line with the $30 LL. I think they should get rid of the $30. and they should do two tiers of the premium like Universal. $400 is a lot of money to still have to wait a significant amount of time.
What about Fantasy Land? No Dark Rides, Small World, Winnie the Pooh? Looks like Disney is not planning on families with small children to utilize this pass.
"Saved almost 10 hours of Queue waiting" *jaw drops to floor* Paid about 70 cents per minute saved?! Actually that seems like an amazing deal if you're on a serious time crunch. I am curious how it'll work at WDW. Looking forward to your results of that test.
Even though I used to live in Cali and would go to Disneyland at least yearly, I just don’t see spending that kind of money for one day, which again is on top of the park ticket.
The attraction times should be listed in the premier list. This would help people plan better and lead to less disappointment. This would be a plus for people who are willing to purchase this option. I don't think this is for me. I am a multiple day person. I enjoy attractions but I also want to see parades and fireworks. Running yourself ragged doesn't seem like fun and I am a rope drop to park close person.
I kind of wonder if this will go to the international parks, planning a trip to Europe next year and if I can knock out Disneyland Paris in a day that would open up other days for other destinations in Europe. Then again I am a party of one so I can move faster and it will be cheaper then paying for a whole family.
In reality many first time visitors will be even more disappointed with the quality of many Disney theme park attractions after they pay this one time. Any good faith left between Disney visitors will be lost after this fleecing. Most of these attractions frequent park visitors don't go on because they are not worth riding.
@WDWNT At that price point, many of them will be disappointing. To name a few, Snow White, Mr. Toads, Nemo Subs, Ariel. Long-time visitors like these attractions because we are nostalgic over them. First timers would enjoy them for standard park entrance cost, but not for this extra charge.
Hey Disney how about a one park option for the Disneyland Resort? As non pass holder have to buy parker hoper to use LLPP at both parks. How about $250 for Disneyland and $200 for DCA? If you buy both it is $400.
Nothing at Disney is worth $400. It's our choice not to go anymore, but it shouldn't be this way. Only for the rich, and that, I don't think, was the original intent of Disney. No good for the people that can't afford it. Everyone should be equal at Disney. No cast system.
For $400, why is there any wait at all? You should be escorted right on the ride. Too mu much running back and forth and rushing. Not leisurely and fun.
400 bucks doesn’t guarantee you the time or that the ride will work when u go no thank you I will just save my 400 and I’m glad Disney has the option to pay less I will everyone else be dumb enough to pay 400 dollars like in universal 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. But universal has probably way better customer service
They should at least give you something physical you can redeem at the park. Maybe even a free meal voucher.
Why?

For many people the can't go often because of the cost. The additional $400 to ensure you do everything is far too much.
You can certainly do everything you want without it
I want a Lamborghini but can’t afford it like most of the population. That doesn’t mean they need to drop the price from $250k to $30k.
Another test where you purchase the multi pass/indv lightning lanes, and scheduling. Can you duplicate this experience?
I highly doubt it as you’ll lose time waiting for Lightning Lane times to come around
20:50 the people just chatting through the pre-show kills me. Bro just be quite for a second
Right?
The tires and cones made a monster face on Cadillac Ranch!
I have never been to Disneyland and will probably only get to go once or twice in my life. I would pay for this as an adult with no children, but for families and frequent visitors I totally understand how it wouldn’t make sense.
If it included a tour of Walts apartment and tour of Main St I would do it..
So you have to use the app to redeem each lighting lane?? I thought you could be off your phone completely with this pass and never look at it all day.
I assume you could use a magic band?
yeah I think I misunderstood what Thomas was doing.
You could use a band, yes
40:53 yay you got in the vehicle that takes you to the room that the lightsaber in the ceiling works. The other vehicle, other room- it doesn’t.
Love the review and I know this might sound weird, but you look so handsome today love the shirt
I think this comment is so sweet! I thought he looked nice as well
I don’t understand why the Matterhorn breaks so often and always goes through refurbishment. Is it because of its age?
Yes. And that can’t ever do a full referb because it would not pass OSHA’s requirements. So they fix small areas often, if that makes sense.
Wow for $400 they should have notifications if a ride is closing and you haven't used it yet so you have time to ride it.
"can they dry my socks" lmfao
I love how Cars is just broken now. You're supposed to win if you get the Crew Chief.
Someone get this man a PAIR OF SOCKS!
being that my "name" is sebastian the crab- I now must go to disneyland to see Sebastian's eyes work
Who the heck said Screamin' was part of the reason for its failure? I remember as a kid going to DCA and finding most of it a joke but always loving Screamin'.
I am always shocked at how much of a kurfuffle is always going on outside the Lighting Lane entrance! Seems no one can get it together!!!
Oh Tom you’re so amazing. Please tell them to take the waters on Tiana’s. I had hoped they’d fix it
Babies on sticks!
More of Tom vlogging on his own in US Disney parks. ❤️
We have been over the DAS thing and agree, but this review didn’t feel like the place for the rant
It is weirdly quiet now that they are not gas powered (autopia)
So can you only ride each ride once? Or can I ride the same ride infinite amount of times?
Only once each
It would depend on how many people are in your party.
I was enjoying this so much…then the finale!! So sorry Tom.
Oh gosh. Don’t walk around with wet socks you will get blisters. Buy new socks.
I’m size 15, Disney doesn’t sell big socks lol
28:13 I’m with you.
Partly Tom's fault: didn't rope drop, took too long at lunch, and too much time crisscrossing between parks.
Even though I used to live in Cali and would go to Disneyland at least yearly, I just don’t see spending that kind of money for one day, which again is on top of the park ticket.
Hope you get a discount on that room, Tom.
Should we expect for there to be a Tiana’s bayou adventure honest review for Disneyland? Or are you just gonna talk about on the podcast
It’s coming
Cool, Thanks!
I don’t understand why they made Tiana look like Elmer Fudd’s sister
I kind of wonder if this will go to the international parks, planning a trip to Europe next year and if I can knock out Disneyland Paris in a day that would open up other days for other destinations in Europe. Then again I am a party of one so I can move faster and it will be cheaper then paying for a whole family.
They already have similar offerings
21:18 NOT!
In reality many first time visitors will be even more disappointed with the quality of many Disney theme park attractions after they pay this one time. Any good faith left between Disney visitors will be lost after this fleecing. Most of these attractions frequent park visitors don't go on because they are not worth riding.
What rides are disappointing other than the back of DCA?
@WDWNT At that price point, many of them will be disappointing. To name a few, Snow White, Mr. Toads, Nemo Subs, Ariel. Long-time visitors like these attractions because we are nostalgic over them. First timers would enjoy them for standard park entrance cost, but not for this extra charge.
For $400, why is there any wait at all? You should be escorted right on the ride.
If you pay $400, shouldn't you get a separate line that by-passes the regular lightening lane line?
Now get rid of all other lightning lane options and all will be right as rain!
Shameful they don't even let boats on Pirates finish the speech before dropping you now.
Did you have to pay for Radiator Springs Racers and Rise of the Resistance or were they included in the premium ?
Hey Disney how about a one park option for the Disneyland Resort? As non pass holder have to buy parker hoper to use LLPP at both parks. How about $250 for Disneyland and $200 for DCA? If you buy both it is $400.
That's $40.00/hour
Disney LOST THE MAGIC! UGH!
But universal has probably way better customer service
ill just spend it on that expensive cake.
I think for disneyland this works, for disney world it doesnt
That would never have happened in Florida Tom… 😢
