I was in Dekalb, Illinois and visited the high school. In the center of the gym was their school mascot... barbed wire... the Dekalb barbs. This was apparently the place where barbed wire was first created. That... was tragic.
Not gonna lie about the whole your Mom dressing you up for school picture day thing. I was in second or third grade when the Phillies were in the 93' World Series (yes. They lost. Don't bring it up) and my Mom sent me to school with a Phillies ball cap on. There was a strict no hat rule in my school, but when I explained that my Mother wanted my school picture with me in a Fightn' Phill's cap, the teacher had to step down. Then the photographer got mad and did the whole weirdly positioning thing (because of the ball cap). To this day, both my Mom and I have that picture. Go Phills!
2:28 Yes Norsemen!! I was a cheerleader and that word is hard to work into cheer routines but we did it! They are still stuck in my head after 35 years.😂
I made a kid panic when he rung me up and the cents needed was 76 I gave him a penny so I could get a quarter back and he almost passed out Edited because this was posted late at night when my math is not it’s best. The circumstance was real, my original retelling was misspoken In tiredness
No. Kid was confused because of a strange request. 2 quarters. 2 dimes and a penny. Simple. Now you want to add 4 more pennies into the mix...and the quarter because you think it is simpler. It is not. In addition, when on boarding in cashier jobs , most outfits train employees to watch out for that kind of thing. It's a common scam. So you can add 4 to 71. Cool. What about calculus? Quick, integrate {1/x dx. What does it mean that you couldn't? Nothing. Kids are smarter than we were and getting smarter. Next time, how about striking a conversation with the young genius in front you. I bet you'll learn something cool.
Uh... You were already getting a quarter back, plus four pennies. You should have given him ONE penny, to get a quarter and a nickel back. No wonder he panicked. I would not have known what you expected of me either, and I made change in my head at a fast food factory for years. Unless... You meant you were going to get 71 cents in change, so you gave him four pennies to bring it up to the next quarter.
The Greenies. South Park High School, Beaumont, TX. School colors green and white. Our football rival was The Royal Purples of Beaumont, TX. Guess what their colors were.
Omaha, Nebraska: The Benson High School, "Benson Bunnies". I kid you not. Their mascot is a Bunny. Not a Hare or Jack-rabbit, a bunny. I didn't grow up in Omaha, so I don't know how the other schools, or Benson students, feel about it. But, as a transplant? It's pretty funny. I have asked, but I get a non-answer that I can't seem to retain. 😆
Those kids with peanut/nut allergies usually died of anaphylaxis before school age because everybody ate peanut butter. The connection wasn’t made back then.
I drove school bus for 20 years. One year I had a student that was allergic to peanuts, so they made me reserve the front seat for him only, and every morning I had to completely scrub his seat down to make sure no peanuts had touched it. They did it because his mother was a nutball that insisted and they were afraid of getting sued.
@@kathyyoung1774 On a full size bus? She wouldn't let him ride the small bus which would have been safer. If you have never driven 75 kids at once don't judge.
@@jant596 I have indeed. I drove a school bus for field trips when I was a teacher. I still have a CDL. I can't fault the mother. A peanut allergy is one of the worst you can have because a child can be dead in minutes. It isn't sniffles or rash. It's full blown anaphylaxis. If I had a child with a peanut allergy, I'd probably homeschool him. The reason we didn't hear about kids with peanut allergies when I was in school years ago is because they all died before school age. Nobody recognized peanut allergy back then.
I have to say I AM SO TIRED OF KAMALA ADS ON UA-cam THAT I CANT SKIP. THE TRUMP ONES YOU CAN SKIP AFTER 4 seconds, is this just in Michigan? Sorry but it really annoys me. If we don’t know who we’re voting for by now… even my 6&7 year olds see the ads and come ask me about them. And that’s on Kids UA-cam. It’s just not necessary

If you spoke to that kid the way you wrote this garbage, I am not surprised he panicked.
The kids these days have no idea unlesss they can Google it...and many cant do simple math without a calculator...😂
