    Hi ! I just love your works of ART !!!! Thank you 😊 for sharing !!!
    I just seen a lady use a cordless sander i have 1 and ordering a kit also !!! Please don’t take this as RUDE , not trying to tell you how or what to do . Just been watching a lot of felt videos !!!
    None compare to how much you teach and show !!! So thank you again

      Thanks Tish. There are lots of ways to make felt and makers adapt all sorts of tools because there are few tools made specifically for felt making. The Gentle Roller was invented for me when I was unable to rub and roll because of a back injury. I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with other felt makers. Felt making is such a labour intensive activity that most of us end up with injuries of some sort. Or we get old and just give up making felt.
      I would caution you to be careful with the sander, as it can cause wrist injuries. We have one owner - user of a Gentle Roller, who put together a video describing what happened to her after extensive use of a sander. You can view it on our Facebook Gentle Roller page. Cheers

    Hi Joni, after laying out and wetting the wool did she hand rub at all or put it straight on the gentle roller?

    • @jonicornell-mersilk
      @jonicornell-mersilk  Рік тому +1

      It's wet down with a ball brauser then plastic laid over the top and air bubbles pushed out. This can be made easier by wetting the surface of the plastic with felting solution and with your hands in a plastic bag. Flipped over, and plastic over the other side. It's not rubbed at all before placing on the roller.
      More videos of working with the Gentle Roller can be found on our website gentleroller.com.au

      @@GrantsPassCSL it's there to do the work for you.
      There may be the odd times where you do need to work a specific stubborn spot by hand in with a hand tool but they ought to be few and far apart.

      Iman Elhindi there are lots of felt makers in the US. Try the Facebook page of New England Felting Supplies to see if there is someone teaching near you. The fibers used in this video are super fine merino wool, felted on tissue silk or also referred to as silk Georgette. Best of luck. Cheers Joni

    “Tumbler for felting “is that what you say to get information from Google ?
    Roller for felting is that correct to find out information on Internet ???
    Thank you 😊

      It's a wet felt rolling machine called the Gentle Roller. Ours is different from others in that it also comes with a fulling drum for shrinking the pre-felt. We nicknamed the drum 'rumbler'.

    Hi, I would like to know how much money have you spent to make this scarf ? and how does it cost if you were to sell it ?

    • @jonicornell-mersilk
      @jonicornell-mersilk  4 роки тому

      Hi Sandrine, there's the cost of the tissue silk, which is around $7-$8 a metre (it's a large piece, probably 2.4 metres long) and then the superfine merino, which is around $12.50 for 50 grams - probably around 120- 150 grams used. I could get in touch with Jillian if you're interested in commissioning a piece to enquiry about the cost, including the making. Let me know. Cheers

      Hi Becky, with Jillian's wrap we used the 1100 mm. Hope this helps you decide which one would suit you best.
