This has always been a dream to me. To be an actress. I was in art school for fashion and I was a leading actress in my first short film for a friend of mine who was studying film. I hope I make it one day. It's all in the perfect timing.

Love you for this, Ashley. It's a rough field of work and the financial insecurity is a huuuge drawback. I had a professional theatre audition this morning, I have a feature film audition next weekend, I'm hoping to work as a bit part on a network show shooting the next few months, I'm working on my own short films totally solo *and* I'm unemployed, slightly terrified to get a solid normal day job because I have to keep availability open for last-minute auditions and on-call work. Not to mention just getting an agent to sign you in and of itself is harder than it should be. It's a rough. Field. Of. Work. I get it and it sucks. Us actors gotta stick together.

Ashley, I wanted to know if you could help someone be as successful as you are. I've wanted to be an actress my entire life and I've different things but nothing works out.
Jessica Young you could fly to LA and audition for any movie production that they need actor/actress or started off on UA-cam because I think that big stars may see and notice. You should take acting classes if you could to improving your drama or crying or other stuff skills. I hope this help :)
Long story short, start where you are: community theatre, school plays, local indie film work, local commercials, etc. (and if you're lucky enough to live in a place where a big network show or movie is planning to shoot, put your feelers out there and start networking... you might get a bit part on one of the big shoots). Build a resume and get good headshots done. When you have a decently filled out resume, start submitting your headshot and resume to talent agencies in your area. Make sure you're doing this for the right reasons. Are you doing this, at the core of it, for the love of the art, or is it simply to hopefully become famous? When you're doing it for the art of it, you'll have a lot more lasting power in this business than someone who wanted to be an actor for a hot minute because it looks easy and fun.
The hard reality is that it's not easy.
Do you have an agent? The first step is to get an agent or get enough experience to get an agent or a manager. Ashley said that she had both an agent and a manager- they're the people that send you off on auditions
