    Not an easy bike to customise, this is the best BM boxer I've seen. Good job

      Thanks. Yes the liquid copper is a transparent powder coating allowing the metal workmanship to be visible.

      Thanks, yes and the sound is better than any I have heard. That says a lot as these are not known for sounding good.

    Thank you guys for the comments, I have been building a new shop and have been too busy to build any bikes lately. But I plan on starting up in the spring in the new shop, I have a K 100 that will be first. Lets see how this turns out then we can talk about your K 75.

    I'm in Northern Virginia. Actually, I like the look of the monolever better than the twin shock but I'm not seeing many monolevers for sale. I believe they were introduced on 1987 or '88? I'm not seeking a bike as "custom" as the the one you did (which is awesome, BTW), but one that is cleaned up and lightened up, handles well and looks good.

    Great work! I have a 91 bmw k75 and I'm looking for someone to convert it for me. Would you be interested?

    Outstanding build! Really professional looking work! I bet the handling is much improved with the bike now weighing 375 lbs. Did you keep the bike's geometry the same as stock? Would you consider doing a custom build if someone supplied you the BMW and paid you for parts & labor?

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому +2

      Front was lowered 1.5 inches rear 1 inch.
      Handles awesome and stopping is very good now.
      I would build another, I'm always looking for a donor bike in order to build another.

    Your motorcycle looks really awesome. how long did it take you and how much did that cost you in total?

    I've been considering buying an R100 with the idea of pairing it's weight and size down by cleaning up the rear end with a solo seat with smaller sub frame, small taillight & turn signals, chopped front fender, etc. and improving the looks with lots of satin black powder coat and a few painted pieces (not many), maybe in white. I'm a good mechanic but can't weld so I'll need to hire someone to weld/fabricate the seat pan sub frame and cut down the front fender. Would you consider doing that work if I paid you? I see you chose a later model R100 with the rear mono shock and I love the look and slightly lowered stance you gave the bike! I've been mostly looking at early to mid 80's R100's with twin rear shocks. Are the later model mono shock bikes a big step up in terms of handling? I love BMW boxers and want the looks of an older bike but don't want a poor handling bike either. I really appreciate your input because you obviously know what you are doing! Thank you! Paul

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому

      Handling is similar from what I've read between the two. The monolevers are more rare and therefore more expensive. Stick with the twin shock in that case, since it's the look your after.
      Where are you located?

    Hi there
    Your bike looks great!!!!!!
    But how did you lower the front of your bike ...........?
    in your video it shows you doing some work on the top yoke but i couldn't see fully what you had done .
    could help ....................?

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому

      I machine the lower triple tree from another bike and then use it for the top. This gets rid of the stamped steel top tree from the factory where the top of the shock is limited and mounts flush with that stamped steel piece.
      Where do you live I'd love to build another one of these maybe change it up a little?

    Awesome job on the build. Where did you get the motor powder coated? They did a great job

      The engine block transmission and cylinder heads are a high temp ceramic paint, I soda blasted these parts, sprayed them, then bake them with infrared heaters.

      What brand is the paint? Same on the engine and wheels?

  • @Lupercopontoglio

    it's amazing.. how much for a bike like this?
    performance?

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому

      I build each bike one at a time per customers input.
      The price can vary depending on if you supply the motorcycle or if I have to find one and purchase it. As far as performance, the weight reduction is nearly 100 pounds which on the stock engine and brakes, is a pretty nice performance increase. If engine modifications are wanted I will do them but I don't feel it's necessary.

    I'm thinking about the future to do something like this, but I do not know where to start, can I pay to do it?

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  7 років тому

      I am thinking of building another and selling them one by one, if you are serious we can discuss a custom build.

    • @franciscoremi
      @franciscoremi 7 років тому

      I'm serious, but I will not do it now, but in 2 or 3 years it will be.

    How can ı find this rear bumper in 3:11?

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому

      If by rear bumper you mean the tail section behind the seat, I made that from metal sheets.

    • @mobikes807
      @mobikes807  8 років тому

      It is custom-made one-of-a-kind. If you are talking about the rear fender at 3:11.
      Not for sale.

    • @mobikes807

      Remove area of fender and replace with plexiglass. I molded it first to match contour. Made LED "puck" out of SMD LED strips and mounted flush. Made a metal cover and sealed it all up. One wire runs through a hollow tube brace. Sand smooth filling in gaps with epoxy. Thin paint.

    • @marksmanAlex

      so it shines through the thin paint? Thats the secret? :D
