- The city of Murray Bridge holds a terrifying legend, that of the fierce Bunyip,
European settlers of the 1880's were told of this creature by Aboriginal people.
The Bunyip was said to live in creeks, rivers & swamps emerging at night to devour any human or animal prey that crossed its path.
It's terrifying cries rang out in the stillness of night, unnerving the lonely & isolated white settlers who wondered if they would meet a terrible death at the claws of this Australian monster.
That's how the legend goes . . . . . . .
I first saw the Bunyip back in the mid 70's on a road trip to Adelaide with my family, as a 10 year old he was the coolest thing I'd ever seen !
He was a different beast back then & it was a coin in the slot arrangement as I recall.
I was glad he was still alive & kicking & happy that so many people still get a kick out of seeing him, a childhood memory Ive never forgotten:)
this is a submechanophobia masterpiece
