My first time out west was last year. We stayed mostly on trail, however when we did find deep powder that was not on a steep incline we did take action :) From Meadowlark Lake to Red Grade to Bear Lodge Resort the tranquility of it all is what has captured my heart for the area. I could easily see the amount of hard work that is put in by locals to keep the area up, from marked trails to safety shelters. I'm happy to see that you and others try to expose the harsh reality of snowmobiling in the mountains. Myself and a buddy took it very serious and watched several of your videos and others to build kits to bring with. I remember a few days after we left someone triggered an avalanche by Bear Lodge Resort, and shortly after that you had to go out on a rescue mission (Phazer), and that is the REALITY of it. Keep up the good work Jeff, and your crew!

Thank you for taking it seriously! That's all you can really do! Control what you can control! Ride safe and thanks for the support!

Two things draw me to it. The adventure and the challenge. Everywhere you look is a post card. It’s impossible to explain to someone who hasn’t seen it themselves. Seeing someone experience it for the first time is especially rewarding. Getting to a spot where just a handful of people have been before you is a neat feeling. The mental and physical challenges and desire to improve make it so rewarding and watching others do the same is even better. It’s definitely a progression and as the great philosopher Roy McAvoy said “perfection is unattainable”. When I’m on the mountain I often ask myself how I can suck at something this bad and love it so much?

That's the beauty of it! The mountain is a beautiful playground. Whether you're doing double backflips off the monkey bars or just spinning around on the merry-go-round, everyone can have fun! Give yourself more credit though! You did just fine on at epic pow day last year!!

I’d love to make it that way if they could keep the roads open

That is true! It's a blessing and curse when we get hammered with massive storm systems. One of the perks of living so close to the mountain!

@@sledwyo , "Blessing and a curse..". Ain't that the truth. I live in the Grand Lake area right below their trail system. I can ride from my driveway to hit the fluff. A good nuking never hurts my feelings except when I've got to take the snow blower for a spin before I pull the sled out, and while blowing the snow, I see all the other sleds heading up the hill before me. Cheers to a killer season....

Good video. I started mountain riding north of 50. 10s of thousands of miles of trail riding experience is little to no benefit to mountain riding other than understand the controls. The younger guys mostly did seem to take to it faster. A guide and clinic is essential at 1st. As is avy gear and at least an inReach or Spot.
