I have the Kubota BX2680, pretty similar in size to your Farmall Sub-Compact Tractor. I bought it because I needed something a little more than what a lawn tractor could do. Bought it about 4 years ago, and its saved me so many hours of manual labor in moving dirt, gravel, sand, etc. Can't say that the mower deck saves me any time mowing because its usually a 10 minute chore of installing it as I don't leave it on the tractor all the time....due to space limitations for entry/exit of my shop the tractor don't fit with the mower deck installed, so I have to take it off after I use it in order to store the tractor. Yep the gauge wheels on the deck turn 90 degrees so you can roll the deck out from under the tractor or to roll it under the tractor to install it. Doesn't take too long to install or remove, its the time it takes to swap attachments and stuff around and get the mower deck from where I store it, take it to the carport, remove the loader, install the mower, and remove whatever implement I have on the 3 point hitch....as great as it seems to have a mid mount mower deck, its an added chore to install/remove every time I want to use it, so having a dedicated lawn tractor or zero turn mower is still something I'd consider before I'd ever buy another tractor with a mid-mount mower deck....you can get zero turns and lawn tractors with 60" decks anyways. Looks like the location of the PTO knob would be somewhat of an annoying location, seems they should have put it by the lever that controls which PTO you are using, on the dash behind the steering wheel just seems like an awkward spot LOL. My Kubota has a manual lever for engagement of the PTO so I don't have that knob and honestly don't see where its any better than simply moving a lever LOL. Most of these tractors all have the same features, just you may have to locate where that particular model's feature control is as they're different on different machines. One thing I've found with my tractor is the deck height adjustment system is quite finicky, as expensive as these machines are I'd think they would have designed a much better adjustment system, than a cam/knob assembly that never stays adjusted...I have to mess with the linkage under the tractor every time I take the mower deck off to get the linkage locked in the top position so the arms aren't lowering when using the 3 point. Nice to see that Farmall has that same stupid location for the fuel filler, kind of awkward trying to hold a fuel can up there LOL...my Kubota is the same way....I bought a fuel transfer pump so I set the fuel can on the floorboard and put the pump in the can and just run the hose up to the fuel filler rather than having to hold the can at an awkward angle and height. Nice thing with these tractors is they're small enough you can get them into spaces where those big fancy tractors can't fit. I only have an acre so the sub-compact is plenty of tractor for my needs, and its small enough I can maneuver it around in my shop when I need to move wood working equipment around. In the 4 years I've had my tractor I've only put about 118 hours on it, but it would be at least triple that in manual labor. The tractor being the biggest purchase cost, once that's out of the way you can always buy attachments/implements as needed....but buy the ones you know you are going to need/use often immediately with your tractor purchase....in my case I did that and it was all wrapped into 1 payment that's interest free. Then in the future you just buy what you need as that need arises. The Farmall wasn't available sub-compact wasn't available when I was tractor shopping, but is certainly an excellent option for those who have an IH dealer in their area.
@@wildbill23c the 25sc just came out in 2023. In truth the PTO knob is no issue at all. A lever has its uses but I really like the electric engagement. My deck is solid on the height adjustment. It actually has detents and it stays put once it is set. Thanks for the comments. It is too bad you have to remove the deck so much. It is handy to have a big door. Thanks for watching.
What a great review, thanks for sharing your thoughts and specs in detail. I have a deal on the table for a new 1025r and passed one of these in front of the local Case dealer today and figured I would give them a call. It didn’t take long to figure out I was able to add a backhoe to the 25sc for about $1000 more than the 1025r without that option. I’ve been a green guy my whole life but I now own a Toro zero turn and soon a Farmall 25sc as a partial result of your video. You can simply get more for less money. I only wish you could have reviewed the backhoe as well. Thanks again!
@@larrybarker5327 me too. The backhoe is a neat option but I need a snow blower more so that is what my next purchase will be. Thanks so much for watching.
That front axle already has ~800lbs on it with the loader attached. That does not leave much headroom for lifting things. The bigger problem with axle seal issues is people not running enough/any rear ballast. 3pt ballast creates a pivot point at the rear axle, which takes stress off the front. Looks like a nice machine and very comparable to the 1025r and bx series.
is this the same tractor as the Massey Ferguson 1723? it looks very similar. i have a sub-compact Massey (i've had two) GC2300 which was the model before the 1723 and they are very good little machines. i have done all sorts of "heavy" things with it.
@@jimharvard no it is not the same as the Massey. It is more closely related to the LS, especially since LS makes the tractor for Case. It is super handy. Thanks for watching.
