  • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is responding to severe gaps in the health care system in the Amazonian town of Portel, in the northern Brazilian state of Pará. Most of the problems here are related to the geographical and socio-economic context of the region, where it is difficult to access health facilities and health.
    MSF is working in collaboration with the local health authorities to improve primary health care and sexual and reproductive health care, especially among children, teenagers, and pregnant women.
