I usually just use white vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean my birds cages, bowls, etc. It works well, is natural, and has anti-bacterial properties, so it's an overall win for me.
I've been using a home made mixture of 1/2 teaspoon dawn, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1cup rubbing alcohol and enough water to fill a 2 quart container. I don't use aerosols for anything other than vinegar. With cleaning solution- a wet rag for all surfaces. Let it air dry until alcohol has evaporated. You might try one of those free credit cards that you get in the mail as a plastic poop popper. I also use a window squeegee to clear debris from awkward spaces. Works great for feather floofs.
For a disinfectant, have you looked into using F10? It is a veterinarian-grade, bird safe, disinfectant. It comes in a small bottle and then you dilute it with water. I'd only use on hard surfaces though, like the cage bars, trays, and floor. As always, your bird room is so inspiring! Only bird people probably appreciate how much thought you have put into streamlining this routine. 😂
@@FlockTalk I had to get mine through amazon, but I love it for my big deep cleaning days! the only thing is i believe the instructions say that the animals in the room you are cleaning have to be moved out while you are cleaning with that product.
Thats awesome! Ive been prepping to foster a bird and am in desperate need of a cleaner which is bird safe and isnt vinegar. I have a horrible sensitivity to strong smells like vinegar so it can be hard to work with a lot of cleaners. At least i wont ever have to worry about my bird breathing perfumes or anything like that!
To polish windows you can use scrunched up newspapers. That is the best way to get rid of any streaks. So if you were to spray the window with your chosen cleaning solution you can then buff it up with the newspapers
My oldest bird is immune compromised and my vet told me I should only be cleaning with unscented dawn dish soap and water because the vinegar is too hard on my little boy's system. Dawn doesn't always do the job I need it too, especially with those hard to scrub areas. I'm trying to find something that will not flare up my bird's respiratory system to no avail :( If you have any other recs other than the cleaners you mentioned in your video, please, give me a shout! Your weekly clean is a lot like mine, but mine is on a way smaller scale. I'm working on transforming my bedroom into a jungle bird room that me and all of my birds love until I get the funds to finally move out with them all and your bird room as given me a lot of toy and perch inspo!
Yes, what cleaner do you use, I use "poop off" it's a wonderful cleaner and the only one I know o that ya can use with your bird very close, plus it smells great not like a cleaner and not like perfumey smell it's the best for dust, food, counter tops, his cage❤❤❤❤
@@FlockTalk yes you do have to scrub kinda hard but I like it, so which one do you use, I would like to try another one that works better on the poop?♥️
The things we do for our birds!
You sure got that right! But they're worth it!! It's crazy how much we do but we get there love back ten fold!🤣♥️♥️♥️
As a bird mama myself, i find "magic poop" fascinating. Like HOW on earth did it wind up there?

What cleaner do you use?
is the floor of the bird room bare concrete or slab or something?
It’s vinyl
What brand is the filter?
NOMA! The largest size they have is the one inuse
Vinegar and water and newspaper to clean windows with no streaks
What sort of cleaner do you use? Is it white vinegar based? What other ingredients are safe? I'll have to formulate my own.
I talk about the cleaners I use at 12:50
