- I decided to speedrun some meme categories of Hollow Knight and attempt to take their World Records. This proved to be quite a serious challenge but here is how my attempts went.

There needs to be an Elderbug%; it ends as soon as the dialog box with Elderbug opens. Not when it ends, because that would encourage speed runners to skip through Elderbug’s dialog as quickly as possible, and we can’t have that.

Dirtmouth% how long does it take to get everyone who can be in dirtmouth, in dirtmouth.
That means cloth, cornifer, elderbug, zote, Brenda, Nim, Tiso, Sly, and anyone whom I can't remember

The two dislikes come from the previous world record holders
I just finished routing a run where you skip greenpath, though I doubt anyone would do it. After crossroads (you get 4 mask shards, simple key, and vengeful spirit) you do the vs shade skip to blue lake. After benching at the stag go from right city to ancient basin to the path to broken vessel. The shade skip to get to broken vessel is barely possible without claw, but requires the extra mask. Make sure not to bench in basin, or else you are softlocked. With crawlid pogos you can get up to broken vessel and get the monarch wings. Then when you save and quit, you are able to respawn at kings station. Then you are able to use wings to get to and through the royal waterways to fungal wastes through the cornifer room. And finally, finally you can get claw and play it as if it were low%.
To note, the ancient basin shade skip took me eight hours of attempts to get once, and needs the longnail charm upgrade to get past the middle pillar. I did use a maxed out save file to do the attempts, but disabled my dash buttons and avoided using claw for testing.

I found menderbug on complete accident on my first playthrough and I was so confused

Dang it, we got primal aspided
It still amazes me that you can skip half of the Forgotten Crossroads, the entirety of Greenpath, Fog Canyon, Fungal Wastes, and half of City of Tears in one skip. That was about a week's worth of progress I made in my first playthrough that you can get to in less than 11 minutes.
There should be a zote% where you try to complete zotes side quest and get a golden statue for gray prince and eternal ordeal

I remember trying to get the menderbug journal entry, and every time he appeared i forgot to do desolate dive/decsending dark, apart from ONE time where i got him

Speedrun category: kill all passive bugs%
(Includes all killable bugs that can't do damage of any kind to the knight. Ex: nailsmith would be part of this, but Mayla wouldn't because she can do damage when she becomes killable)
This deserves a subscription and a legacy
If I was actually good at this game I would make a speed run category for quirrel% talk to quirrel in every location he shows up as fast as possible and end the run with sitting with him at the blue lake
When you are so early the comments are hidden
With great hopper percent you can pogo off the background object and the aspid. It might be slow to drag the aspid over but surely faster than dying and travelling back.
Is there a “full map%” category?
You should do a 112 room rando(at least if its possible), I feel like that would be challenging and fun to watch and maybe play

Dude, in my first ever playthrough i got menderbug when returning to the well the first time so I just thought it was a one time thing for so long, but yeah i got it first try ever and then spent half an hour tryna find him again later

menderbug speedrun requires the most skill out of all the speedruns you can do in hollow knight and thats a fact.

Speedrun category: rockbottom% get to the lowest point in all of hollownest.
Skurry, you should do another Item Randomizer run, it got a pretty big update and you can now randomize stuff like geo rocks, lifeblood cocoons, and soul totems! I think it would be nice if you tried randomizing all of it, it would be pretty interesting in my opinion.
