I had a 2012 Nissan Versa sl sedan I hated the CVT and engine noise/road noise. Other than that the car was Flawless for a 135,000 until a tree fell on it last week lol. Anyway that's why I'm here I want to get another Versa or Sentra but I will not get one with the CVT, manual transmission only for me. Thank you for the review!
My budget was 20,000 and if I went with the Sentra it would have been the base with zero options. So I bought a Versa SR with all the options and it made more sense because I don’t have kids and didn’t need a car the size of a boat
I would definately buy this. If only the rear axle could be equipped with disc brakes. I had a B16 Sentra SER Spec V before I got my Protege. I miss that punchy 200HP 2.5 engine.
Had 3 Sentras, 1991 GXE 1.6 AT, 2001 SE 2.0 5MT and 2004 SE-R Spec V 6MT. The 91 and 01 were bulletproof and were amazing cars, so reliable and fun to drive. The 04 Spec V was complete garbage, engine was utter trash that burned so much oil it's hard to believe.
How long does the manual transmission last for this car if its driven carefully. I have sentra cvt 2018. Thinking of trading it with 2021 sentra manual. I have good control on manual transmission. I am looking for a car that last long on manual transmission. Please suggest. Budget is 22k cad$
Usually the only problems one has with a manual is the clutch. Make no mistake about it at some point you'll be replacing the clutch. I had a manual Datsun years ago, it started slipping around 180,000 miles. I babied it till the car had 220,000 miles and sold the car without ever replacing it. Someone else I know had a Toyota pickup and didn't replace his until 295,000 miles! Clutches are built it repairs IMO like a timing belt. Up until CVT transmissions an automatic was the way to go. One could do fluid changes on a auto every 30,000 and the tranny out lasted the rest of the car. That isn't the case for CVTs and they are throw away transmissions! At least a clutch can be replaced.
Nissan lost my business to Toyota by only selling the Sentra with a manual transmission in the basic trim. I would have bought this car if I could have it in that cool orange color, 4 disc brakes, climate control and proper aluminium alloys...
@@SSC3034 Yeah but only for the 2021 model. Bad call for Nissan with the 2020 one. I would have bought that manual SR version if it would have been available for the 2020 model...
I wanted to get the S because base versions of vehicles always stand out more to me. But it doesn’t have Carplay so i gotta get the SV. I hate the SV rims tho lol
CVT... Everyone's favorite, are you kidding me?!?! the only reason I'm even considering a Nissan is because you can still get a manual transmission!
CVT sucks un Nissan.
not to mention the manual e-break! corolla still offers a mt. but sentra has a manual hand break that might win me over corolla.
lol I was saying that as a joke. yes I am kidding you
@@carsunlocked lol sorry
Obviously a joke.
everybody's favorite CVT transmission, lol, comment of the year here,
lol you love it

Get a manual trans and this car will last you 15 - 20 years easily.
if you take good care of it
Had a twin turb z foe 110 on the clutch
honestly id choose this over the CVT any day. Good car and review as well, thanks brother.
Glad to help
This is the exact car I want to buy, thanx for the review!
glad you like it my friend
i have this car, only down side is the slight rev hang but a very solid feeling car and great gear box
thanks for commenting
Yeah Mines got a rev hang too. Found it outside of Cleveland brought in from Canada. Love my 6speed sentra though
Good review & perfect Sentra.
Glad you liked it
Manual LASTS LONGER! with proper maintenance of course😁
u r right my friend
Maintenance for a manual?? Fluid change every 10 years?
Glad to see it has manual in Canada, sadly not in the US.
yes it's unfortunate
Can we buy a Canadian one amd drive it back?
@@twoeightythreez yes your american money is worth much more here !
I think you still have to pay some kind of sales tax to the state you are living in unless your state doesn't have one.
@@carbrickscity yes you would have to pay tax here and then apply for a rebate when you bring it home for the tax difference

hey great choice mate I cannot wait until the versa sedans come to canada
Great Review
Thanks so much
Are you in Canada? I'm in Pennsylvania and I want this car but I'll bet it is not available in the states.
yea in canada unfortunately the american versions only get automatic
I went from a Nissan Sentra to a 2020 Honda Accord sport with the 2.0T
ooooo don't say that fam
Cool review man, thank you.
thanks for the comments
Nice review, very sad they dont offer manuals for higher trims, Nissan has to rething for a manual SR trim
Yea I agree a manual Sr would be pretty sweet
Oh that is a surprise, for Mexican market SR Manual trans is already available
I would definately buy this. If only the rear axle could be equipped with disc brakes. I had a B16 Sentra SER Spec V before I got my Protege. I miss that punchy 200HP 2.5 engine.
thanks for watching
I like the colour. Too bad the manual standard has hub caps for such a nice car
U will have to go up to the sv
throw some Forgiatos on it
You can always switch them yourself. Many people do that even with factory alloys.
@@carbrickscity that is true
So just to clarify 2020 sentras come in manual in Canada but not in US?
that's correct my friend
@@carsunlocked thanks homie
Show a little more skin.....lol. Good review. Great little cars. Have been since they came on the scene in 1982.
Do the higher trim models have a manual transmission option ?
unfortunately not
They should slap the v6 in there with that manual and it would be a really fun car! It would be pretty fast.
your not the first person to suggest that thanks for commenting
Can you show the higher up trims of the Sentra?
Yes I have done a few check them out on my channel
Are you in Canada 🇨🇦? I didn’t think manual was available in the States.
Yes here in Canada they make it in manual
I thought they had discontinued the manual on the Sentra. Can y'all still find it?
I can't find it!
This has to be a 2019
No sentra comes with a manual In 2o2o
@@kevinmoran565 hey guys here in Canada they make a manual transmission Sentra
It's not available in the US only Canada
I wonder if the wiring is there for the rear trunk switch. If it is just buy a trunk trim that has switch in it.
yes the wiring is exposed if that's what you are referring too

hard to say how long the transmission will. last as it is a 2020 so we are not sure only time will tell

What are you talking about? the rims on the base model Sentra look so cheap!
Nathan Gonzalez Yea but base cars stand out to me more for some reason. I can’t explain it but I like it more
I’m a late millennial and I don’t give a crap about android auto
ok
Does the higher trims also have manual transmission too?
yes for 2021 they put the manual transmission in the sr model. you can check out my unlock here ua-cam.com/video/tSeYJMTYx3w/v-deo.html
does sv has MT as well. WHY IN Nissan USA there is no available MT for 2021 nissan sentra...
no manual in the sv
Manual only comes on the S and SR trims in Canada
I thought they did away with the manual transmission sentry in 2020
here in Canada they make a manualw transmission
6speed banger
Love it
manual is way better than the CVT transmission.
in some ways yes
ALAV este vato se llevo el carro en pura primera xd
true
Lol my second gen Altima has more horsepower with its KA engine than this and a very reliable auto transmission
thanks for commenting
I would have only bought this with a manual
awesomeeeeeee thanks for commenting
Direct injection is the turn off for me. If it's old school port injection, I would consider this.
okay
Nissan manual transmission is fine but cvt is junk
manual transmission great
Favorite cvt? No mention of the Jatco abomination? This guy is a paid spin master for the manufacturer. Don't waste your time on his videos.
lol I work at a Nissan dealership sir you are correct. When I said everyones favorite cvt I was being sarcastic
Dude you can change to 2nd gear 🤦🏽♂️
i know i was concentrating on the dialogue
Do the higher trim models have a manual transmission option ?
unfortunately not sir
