Wanda didn't seem to miss her brother Quicksilver with whom she spent whole childhood and most of her adulthood, And the love of her life Vision, But yeah she wanted her made up kids (for like 2 weeks) with whom she barely spent any time with...🤦🏻♂️
No he wasn't. Not even close. He was the hero and protagonist in every sense of the word although he did make some questionable decisions that may end up biting him in the ass in the next film but that's the point.
Personally, I thought that was the point. Several things in this movie was just funny and it seemed intentional. Like zombie Strange. I don't mind it at all either, I don't suppose we would ever get any more movies where she plays a bigger role. This movie was all about Wanda and Strange. Concluding Wanda's grief (ish) and concluding Strange's hang-up about his personal life. I liked the movie and it was different.
Professor X losing a psychic battle against Scarlet Witch is some worse thing i ever heard... as far as I know, the only other person that could beat Professor X's psychic power is Jean Grey.
You’re taking the scene out of context. Wanda was possessing an innocent version of herself who had two kids…Professor X was not tryna bring harm to his universes Wanda. Wanda on the other hand was going in with murderous intent.
I hope patrick stewart is happy, he was killed as picard and he was killed as profesor x. though to be fair he was also killed as uriel septim so there is that, the man wants no legacy of him left in this world.
It was hysterical, until you think about it and just shake your head. It actually happens that way, and knowing the bios of those involved, it’s very possible it was purposefully done. It’s THE MESSAGE X3,000
Still convinced they could’ve fixed a ton of plot holes and character issues by simply having the villain be a scarlet witch from a different multiverse so Wanda could see the end point of the path she was on. That way she and strange could work together to fight a possibly greater enemy. Also, there wouldn’t be so much head scratching over the universe hoping because it’s done primarily off screen. Plus, it could set up exactly how much of a threat the multiverse truly is
This was my initial idea of the film when I first saw the trailer in nwh . Sinister strange and alternate universe Wanda vs MCU strange and Wanda but after seeing what they made was just a bit disappointing.
I'm pretty sure that's what we got. Ours was that universe lol But the Wanda she possesed will probably replace her. She has the two kids and is good. So it'll fit I think
Exactly. Felt like it was more about Wanda movie then a Dr. Strange movie. Even if it was about wanda, it was a mess of a story. I think those who like it have a poor story telling IQ if you know what I mean. They see the actions and it awe's them but clueless about an actually good story.

@@christianray8973 The movie was a disaster. Strange 1 great right? 2 was a mess of a story, plot and logic. This was more of a prequel of Wanda vision. I don't even know if the directors and produces follow the comics. The story was just that bad. To "woke" for me. Dr. Strange could handle Thanos but couldn't do well at all against a 1 eyes squid. I could continue but for myself it was a mess of a movie telling story.
“I have a lot of anxiety with Doctor Strange because I’ve never really had to lead a commercial film by myself” ~ Elizabeth Olson to the NY Times. In case there was still any doubt who they consider the lead to be.
Every marvel movie that comes out everyone says that villain sucked, and when infinity war made thanos the main character essentially everyone loved it. And now they give Wanda optimal screen time have a villainous arch, you all shit on it and hate it. What did you want? Her to just be bad and have no explanation for it? You would have shit on that too? Dr. Strange is very much the protagonist of the film, Wanda is the ANTAGONIST. While I agree that America was relied on too much for plot and character and overall I agree the film could have been better, but this criticism is just dumb.
@@jimhalpert0 would you prefer Wanda have 0 scenes alone and we only see her when she’s with strange and not explain anything really or develop her arch? The concept of a protagonist and an antagonist are lost on you.
Wanda; let go of her vengeance against Stark once she learned what Ultron had planned, and joined the Avengers losing her brother. Wanda; sacrificed the love of her life and was willing to kill Vision in order to defeat Thanos and protect humanity. 2 movies later... Also Wanda; enslaved an entire town, traumatized children, killed innocent people, gave way to dark magic, and traveled the multi verse in order to kidnap someone else's children then ultimately killed herself What a hero! Edit; I forgot to mention how Wanda accidentally killed innocents and basically allowed herself to be imprisoned out of fear of hurting others.

It scares the crap of me that if you look up scenes from Scarlet Witches torture sessions on youtube, 99% of the comments are supportive of HER. "She's not evil, she's a victim!" The vast majority of people are appearently very very mentally ill.
She was literally corrupted by the darkhold. The tragedy is that she began reading it to understand and learn her power so that she would never hurt anyone again.
@Ultimate Sora You are delusional if you think wandavision is bad or generally seen as bad. It is statistically one of the most liked mcu shows, up there with loki. You must be living in an alternate universe, I've been a superhero fan since I could walk, follow every page and channel, ranking sites, news outlets, it is a fact that the wandavision era was hyped af and the show was extremely well received, unlike she hulk. Wandavision made Wanda one of the most popular characters in the mcu. And wanda isn't evil, she never was. Westview was an accident out of sheer grief, she was in denial and suppressed. Anyone would struggle to take down the hex. She is a victim to her own powers. She is so far from one dimensional it's laughable that you even think that. You know nothing about her arc at all. Look, I'm not trying to start a useless stupid fight here, but you commented to me and I feel the need to correct you because you are wrong wether you like it or not. I can agree on one thing, multiverse of madness had very mixed reviews, but definitely not wandavision.
My 16 year old daughter and her friends laughed out loud at Professor X. Their biggest complaint was who was and why did they need America Chavez instead of someone better. Says it all.
Apparently Marvel looked at how Lucasfilm treated its heroes, how Star Trek treated its heroes and how Dr Who treated its heroes and said “Hey, that looks like a good idea! Let’s try humiliating and undermining the goodwill toward our heroes build up over years or decades!”
I feel Wanda should've had her own movie dealing with this and her turn to the dark side. I thought this movie was gonna be about Strange dealing with the fallout from opening the multiverse in No Way Home. Fighting alongside and against evil versions of himself and other multiverse threats. America Chavez was terrible and unnecessary as Wanda and Strange proved they can traverse the multiverse either way
I thought the exact same thing ! I was utterly disappointed that it had absolutely no connection with "SPIDER-MAN: NWH" ! I really did NOT like the "bait & switch" nor did I enjoy how they wasted all of the cool cameos ! I also really didn't care for this "America Chavez" character of whom I never really heard of before this movie ! I was expecting a whole lot more from a movie called, "DR. STRANGE In The Multiverse Of Madness" ! WHO THE HELL WROTE THIS GARBAGE 🙄😤😡🤬⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️
And that's what Disney wanted you to think through the trailer. All in order to trick you and go see their terrible movie. After what they did with Black Widow, I plan to watch reviews first before ever seeing another comic book movie. Whether it be MCU, DCU, SW, etc. So far, only The Batman looks promising.
Also, on the point about Disney not understanding morality, having Pizza Poppa punch himself for 3 weeks for defending his livelihood was abhorrent. I couldn't believe they just dismissed it so casually.
I'm sure there must have been a universe where wanda died or something after having her kids and she could have just went there and lived her life 🤷🏾♂️

I think Marvel needs to take a break, do a lot of planning, then return to writing the new movies. We're getting the usual problem with sequels that they had previously managed to minimize.
Much like any big franchise, they are chugging along doing what they can with the actors available. It's a business--they need to keep making money, any pause in the periodic releases means lost revenue for that timeframe. Are they creatively bankrupt, though? No...I wouldn't think so. The Thor movie and She-Hulk previews dont fill me with any desired to see them. But this movie I think largely suceeded because of what the opposite this reviewer said--they kept the focus ON Strange, so the woke tidbits couldn't fester and linger to take over on their own.
@@PreferredCustomer I think they could potentially make more if they paused and strategized once more but I'm sure the executives don't see it that way and have their own timelines. It's just unfortunate. There's no feel of the overall build up that kept me watching all the movies prior to endgame. It just feels like they are kinda going somewhere but not with the same intensity. Or maybe that just wore off. I dunno.
If they fire all the feminists and soy boys the movies would improve SIGNIFICANTLY. Like politics is everywhere I dont need a supposedly fun movie pushing communism (food should be a human right scene), two moms, all of the male characters being weak/incompetent, the forced diversity, etc. Its so obvious and cringe.
Reminder that if Wanda kids were never real then Hayward from Wandavision was right and did nothing wrong. When Strange says "they are not real Wanda" he basically proves the innocence of the director of S.W.O.R.D. Why was he even arrested for pointing a gun to two fake children? Why did Darcy mock him for going to jail? Just a plot hole that bothers me.
You’re asking about the plot hole? Simple answer: they shoehorned a better story into a shit show that neutered the plot and nerfed the psychological break Wanda was supposed to suffer from. The writers were shit in the show, and they’re diarrhetic in the movie. No offense or judgement to you if you liked those properties; I just grew up with the comics and hate seeing them bastardized to be able to accommodate the general public.
I feel bad for Benedict. Just look at him in The Power of the Dog, Patrick Melrose, Atonement etc. This man can play any character, portray any emotion with ease. He was so good in the first movie, and he would have been so good in this too. However, I must say that he does what he can with what is given to him. I can’t remember the name of it now, but in some podcast, he admitted to not even being sure if Strange had a character arc in this movie
it supposedly be him letting other people take the lead, that he not supposed to do everything himself which is so stupid he literally trust Tony to save the universe cause he knew he be snap also hated how everyone was giving him shit for the letting Thanos "win" that he had to do things his way but he look at millions of outcomes and this was the only way ! like I know people on the internet had pointed out other ways to win but come on you gotta follow your own lore and logic. it was so stupid that everyone was trying to make him the bad guy and how the illiumatie with CAPTAIN AMERICA were judging him for the actions of a different person like that's kinda racist or is it personist. I mean I still liked the movie it's the second best mcu work behind Spider-Man nwh since endgame but doctor strange was very mishandled in his own movie for scarlet bi*** and America chavas
Unpopular opinion his portrayal of khan in into darkness was the best thing of that movie, people can hate the movie all they want but remove those nostalgia glasses and think about in lore khan, and Benedict popping that dudes head like a cherry was both accurate and scary, never saw o.g. khan ever kill a dude just saying
The sad thing is that the behind the scenes footage showed he REALLY did his best, but there really isn't much a great actor can do with an atrocious script.
A couple of musings from this violation of my favorite Marvel character: 1. America Chavez is detestable, impossible to take seriously, and is clearly a self-insert for Victoria Alonso. 2. To the parents out there, didn't Wanda's phantom children seem obnoxiously sweet and innocent? One of them needed to rock back and forth on an antique chair until it broke. 3. We get to meet Reed Richards and Black Bolt, then never get to see them in action, while instead being treated to pallete-swaps of characters we've already seen plenty of. 4. Professor X, the God of telepathy, gets out-mindfucked by a villainess using plot powers. 5. Christine seemed to be more responsible for driving the plot than Strange was. Her "yas qween" moment with the magic flamethrower she somehow knew how to operate made me nearly cringe to death. 6. Zombie Strange was admittedly pretty cool. But the dramatic reveal of the "souls of the damned" kinda came out of left field. 7. America actually FAILING at the end while practicing magic was literally her one saving grace. 8. The multiverse travel scene had some cool imagery, but I'm sure on second look, a lot of it is just key-jangling with landscapes instead of characters. 9. Even my optimistic wife walked out feeling let down. She actually felt bad for bringing me because she knew Strange was my favorite and was surprised how much he was shit on. Even having watched FNT and Mauler, I didn't know just how awful it was going to be. All I could think at the end was "Look how they massacred my boy."

"Grief is the villain." Last time I checked the vast majority of people who grieve the loss of a loved one don't turn into mass murderers. So I'd argue that the mass murderer is the villain.
most people also dont have powers that literally allow them to completely alter reality with a single thought, that are heavily tied to their mentally unstable emotions. "no more mutants", anyone?
It could work, especially since we've already seen Wanda's dark side, but they needed to take something like this slow and gradually develop it. As it is it's rushed, poorly developed, and pulled in too many different directions.

Above all my other gripes with this movie, I wish the ending had been an actual *defeat* of Wanda instead of her simply conceding. You can even do it in a super cool way that makes everyone look good. Observe: Zombie Strange and Wong do their thing until Wanda is trapped but breaking free, and Strange gives a (slightly less) cringy pep talk to America Chaves that centres around her using her powers to bring the REAL strange back with a portal, instead of "kicking witch ass" or whatever. While this is happening, Wong is struggling to hold Wanda and yelling at Strange, who continues saying something to America Chavez that the audience doesn't hear. America gets her girl boss moment of actually using her powers with intention for the first time, and brings Strange back from the alternate dimension. Strange and Wanda have a final one-vs-one battle after Wong is incapacitated again (sorry Wong, that happens to you a lot in this movie I guess.) Wanda gets the best of Strange, because she's more powerful or whatever, but just as Wanda has him ready for the kill, Strange yells "Now!" to America Chavez, who again uses her powers to open another a portal. This time, however, Strange combines her portal with some magicy mcguffin-ness to expand it so that it opens a portal to EVERY VERSION OF WANDA'S KIDS IN THE ENTIRE MULTIVERSE. And there Wanda stands over Strange, poised to kill him, with every version of her kids looking down on her from a million different windows, and all of them seeing her for who she really is: A monster, and a killer. Therefore, much like with Dormammu, Strange defeats Wanda not with might but with brains, and ruins any hope that she could ever escape to another dimension to be with (not) her kids, because they will all fear her now. Devastated and in a fit of rage, Wanda tries to bring the whole mountain down upon them all, to which Strange sling-rings himself, Wong, and America to safety, leaving Wanda to bury only herself. This accomplishes three things: 1) Wanda still gets to be the all powerful scarlet witch, more powerful than anyone else in the film, and still be the agent of her own demise without claiming the actual agency of the moment. 2) America Chavez still gets to save the day and have her girlboss moment, but without overshadowing Doctor Strange or suddenly learning to completely master her powers in 5 seconds, just because a Zombie believes in her. 3) Strange gets to ACTUALLY BE THE ONE TO DEFEAT WANDA and does so using what has always been his strongest quality: his intellectual brilliance. I'm going to imagine this is how the movie actually ended, as well as that the whole Illuminati scene never happened.
Or simply don't make Wanda a villain. Rewrite WandaVision and make Mephisto the main big bad instead of Wanda acting like a crazy bitch. Mephisto planned everything. He would come back in Multiverse Of Madness as the main villain, and everything is solved. Wanda doesn't die or get turned into a psycho.
@@oski4022 I mean yeah this is totally valid and definitely better for her character overall, but I don't hate the idea of a good character turned villain based on the amount of trauma they've been subjected to. But the whole point of my comment was to try and change a little as possible of the overall direction of the movie but make the outcomes for each character more satisfying and appropriate.
I love how wanda will kill and destroy universes for children that she fantasized for 2 weeks but doesn't give a shit about vision. She mentions him twice in the whole movie, once because he told her about the multiverse, second bc she had to kill him. But nothing about missing him or getting him back or anything like that. Whats funnier is that vision is alive.
Plus quicksilver, and her family in which are "REAL". but the writer said " no, we going to forget all of that and make her a mommy figure who fantasize 2 kids that's not even real" 😂 such a big potential movie but sadly, executed badly
@Celzabuu Jones I like this idea. Maybe even include the people she accidentally killed at the Wakandan embassy trying to stop Crossbones? Plenty of opportunities to gradually foreshadow her descent into madness until boom, next thing you know she's the Thanos of this phase. Imagine if they had bothered to properly develop things?
Also, they're telling us that in infinite multiverses there is not ONE with a pair of Wanda's kids whose mother died, who main Wanda could adopt? (And there's not one planet with Dr Strange's lonely girlfriend who would love her Bf to stick around?) Lol.

Black Bolt I only understand because they made Reed stupidly announce his power. But that just raises the question of why Reed told any Scarlet Witch that didn’t know what BB could do about his abilities? There are just too many questions that don’t add up.
Time after time prof x is well known powerful telepath but he can get his shit rocked both comics and movies. Reed either knew or didn’t know who was Wanda was. The reason I say this is that Wanda from his earth had pretty normal life with kids. She still had powers so she was hero at some point with weaker powers compared to her 616 counter part or just had normal life. So he assumed she was no real big threat and the could taker her down like any other strange they faced. Reed also is the smartest man but he obviously tried to sympathize with her about family and intimidate her with bb powers. But didn’t realize her powers could alter reality.
@@jb-gt8oi Okay, but he called her the scarlet witch and even said he knew about the prophecy that her destiny was either to destroy or rule. I do dislike the whole ‘forgiveness’ bullshit when it comes to Wanda as a character. Grief is not an excuse to be a complete asshole. We all deal with trauma. Did anyone excuse Patrick Bateman because his dad died and his mom ended up in the loony bin? No, the guy was psychotic. @Fax Machine my comment was based on the writers interviews from Wandavision on. Originally, they didn't even want to include a villain because, and I quote 'Grief is a big enough villain'. Which is such a Gen Z comment it's disgusting. My feelings trump everything else in life. Pander to me. The comics did Wanda's slip into madness so much better, because she wasn't doing crap for selfish reasons. Even the excuses I hear are grade A retarded crap. "She's just trying to get back to her children.' Her kids were pure figments of her imagination. End of story. So, she basically went on a murdering spree to save a fucking unicorn. Even to the point that she would basically murder another child in Chavez. I mean, at least with Thanos we could understand where the guy was coming from because he literally witnessed his civilization tear itself apart. He was still horrible, but you could see the road that led him to that point. Wanda is straight up pulling the 'Anakin kills younglings' trademark move. It was crappy writing then, it's crappy writing now.
These are my problems with this multimess of madness: -Strange can take Chavez powers right? Why doesn't he do that to Wanda? -Where tf did Wanda learned how to control Chavez powers? -Wanda knows how to use Chavez powers. Why doesn't she just ask Chavez to help her find a universe where her children are living only with Vision so she can get Vision too? She can also help Chavez find her mothers. -Why Wong doesn't return the title of sorcerer supreme to Strange? He obviously sucks at it. -How tf does the spell Wanda uses knows exactly which other Wanda to possess from all the multiverses? -The illuminati sucks balls, they completely underestimate Wanda,Reed Richards one of the allegedly smartest person on the planet told Wanda how to kill their most powerful member in less than a minute,Captain Marvel dies by being hit by a fucking statue and Charles Xavier one of the if not the most powerful Psychic mutant gets his mind "snapped" and dies in real world, what a joke! -How convenient that Cristine found that magical vase right there and knew exactly what it was and how to use it really well. -Can we use America Chavez powers and "steal" a Black widow or Iron man or Steve Rogers from a universe they don't need them? I think this girl powers create a bunch of problems.
I say her powers were a great (and wasted) potential to fix things. They totally could’ve wrote her into giving Widow and my man Tony Stark back with her power. This movie is the problem cuz now we get none of that.
A huge point Critical Drinker brought up was despite all of her grief Wanda never looks for another Vision in this movie. She looks for the kids she didn't have. She doesn't even have the guts to look for ones who lost their mother, instead she wants to rip them from their current mother. Still seems far more likely to find a version of Vision who's still alive out in the Multi-Verse to fall in love with than to just kill another version of yourself to have her kids. If Vision is irreplaceable and no copy will suffice why would a copy of her kids work?
Yep. I didn't hate the film, but the majority of Wanda's motivation is utterly nonsensical. In an infinite number of universes, there are literally an infinite number where Vision and the kids exist, but in which Wanda has died. She could go to any of those, introduce herself to Vision and begin a new relationship, then become the mother she wanted to be. The only reason to choose the path she chose is either because: a. She's stupid b. She's evil c. Marvel Studios is too stupid to write an intelligent screenplay.
I think it’s because in this sense she made/ birthed those kids with her powers the way real women give birth. Vision is just someone who came into her life and is irreplaceable in that sense. I guess the connection to the kids she made/ birthed is stronger so her obsession with them would be also.
This is why I really don’t like the multiverse, it gives an excuse to have multiple versions of the same characters and it all turns into a massive cluster F!
They're allowed to do this because it is making bank! Normies are lapping this movie up, the Marvel stans are lapping this movie up, and sadly many in the fandom menace are lapping this movie up. No, this movie ain't woke. This movie is good. This ain't a bait and switch. Apparently Marvel have found the formula to turn shit into gold.
Don’t fast food sellers know their food is garbage ? Disney/MCU is just that, fast food entertainment. Absolute trash but it holds you over and you feel like shit after consuming it lol
This was a convoluted and woke disaster. I just watched this today and was quick to realise what I was in for. I won't be watching any more Doctor Strange movies and probably not any more Marvel movies for that matter.
It is one of the biggest feminist pandering movies since captain marvel, and that’s a lot. Vfx, acting, photography, and directing is great, but the script is so trash it throws all the potential out the window. I was expecting to watch Dr strange character develop and grow, instead I watched a movie introduce America Chavez a girl who got her powers from getting scared and a crazy woman corrupted by an evil force she already overcame during a whole show with multiple over 40 minute chapters.

I liked the part Wanda Omni-Maned the Illuminati. My problem was the inconsistent powers of her. If she can make confetti out of Mr. Fantastic with her mind, and change the reality of the body of someone, why can't she do that to everyone else?

I presumed that was because in comparison, Mr Fantastic doesn’t have any sort of... well, defence against it. Instead of really cool stuff like showing galactus vs thanos or something insane like showing odin vs thanos, etc insane battles of super villians and hero's y in diff. multiverses or perhaps some hero as a bad guy, etc.
What annoyed me is that they are treating corruption, grief, loss, madness, insanity and ultimately a human being turned into a bag of emotional pain, as a joke. Literally this should have been a sad movie, a terror movie, and not a regular Marvel movie, but I guess they would need the writers of Arcane to do just that, because Wanda is basically in the same place as Jinx. But well, whatever, Marvel doesn't know how to be serius, they are shallow with everything, even with their political sh*t.
Even if they did get the writers from arcane there would be too much interference from mavel and Disney to actually let them write a story as good as arcane's
Arcane is a fucking masterpiece. Any show that can get _me_ to empathize with a Marxist villain _and_ enjoy the music of a lesbian band is something special.
I haven't seen this movie yet. I never will because it's a Kevin Feige Production and not a Sam Raimi Film. One thing that interests me is how insulting this movie is to Wanda (and women in general)...she's basically gone psycho and evil because of an overdeveloped maternal instinct and sense of self entitlement?? Uh, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that misogynist?! Another interesting thing is Captain Carter, who of course got her start in that dumb What If? show. I have no problem with her character or the actress playing her. I get the concept and she can be awesome in her own right. Yet the M-She-U decides that her live action incarnation has to die in the movie? I can see Sam Raimi doing that and killing legends like Professor X and Reed Richards for pure shock value -- if only Wanda really earned the power she had to do such things -- but that isn't showing Carter and any fans she's earned a whole lot of respect! Feige sure didn't feel 'diverse and inclusive' enough to let Affirmative Action Captain Marvel stick around...maybe he was more scared of Brie?
Something that kills me about all of this is that Scarlet witch gets her powers from the Mind stone that was in the scepter, and Captain Marvel gets her unstoppable powers from the Space stone that was in the Tesseract. Yet they try to make it like these two were just destined for badassery all along and the Infinity Stones are just.. paper weights?
Wanda powers where enhanced from mind stone/ fully awaking her powers. That’s why she barley had any magic when she was growing up until hydra found her. Captain marvel…..um idk what you’re talking care to explains to me on why she was destined to be badass.
Also: the psychopaths in Pedowood do not know how to write families. The scenes with Wanda and her sons felt so artificial. Not warm, loving and realistic. (Like the cringe when she cried because the spoiled kids pestered her for ice cream). Plus, those multiverse boys came from SOMEWHERE; would have been nice to see a dad around. But that's too much to ask for. I should just be glad they didn't force her kids to be black, to fit with current agenda.
@@GustEdgeOfficial crying and yelling. the only emotions the millennial hollywood screenwriters know how to write. reminds me of that scene in the garfield spider man movie where gwen stacy's dad dies, and peter parker just lets out a pathetic howling scream like he can't control his emotions in response to the death of someone he just met. which, in turn, reminded me of that meme video of the androgynous 20-something in a green jacket screeching in response to the news that donald trump was elected. it's the lowest common denominator. these people seriously only know how to write characters as shallow, immature, and fragile as themselves. on the rare occasion that they write someone with half a spine, the character will be modeled after their boomer parents, and the whole screenplay will revolve around embarrassing and humiliating and degrading that character. that's basically the role of doctor strange in this film. just like picard in the new star trek series, or luke in the new star wars series, or any number of other traditional characters that were originally developed by competent writers but are now being shoehorned into soulless cash grabs. just boomer voodoo dolls for the insecure contemporary writers to stick pins in
@@AeneasGemini UA-cam really attracts all the idiots. A) The British started the war by seizing American ships and impressing American sailors (I'm certain that you don't know what 'impressment' is so you'll need to look it up) B) The Americans had as much (or more) cause to claim victory as the British C) The original comment was clearly about the movie - how could you think it was about the War for Independence? I really wish children weren't allowed on the internet - then I wouldn't have to listen to their asinine BS on every comment board.
Funny enough, it all started going down when Mephisto, who's supossed to be a villain, wasn't present in WandaVision. And about all those spells, I think it all could have ended without a single fight if only one of her former teammates, the avengers, was there to talk to her and make her see the bullshit she was about to do.
To be fair, with the exception of Black Bolt and Prof X, she took out Black Bolt first, so at least it was an acknowledgment that he could have been a threat to her. Prof X being "killed" inside of a mental projection - that one I don't understand (because dying in a mental probe in this film was presented like a dream, which STILL doesn't explain how he died; and there were other, more logical ways you could have killed his character... again).
Grief is a villain? This might be the most womanly thing I’ve ever heard in my life. How do you intend to defeat the emotion of grief? Maybe with a tub of ice cream? This chick would be better off writing feminist fiction, at least there nobody would call her out on being lazy.
It's not a bad concept but the genre of comics and action movies requires that grief, and other concepts, should be embodied by a physical representation. A monster or a character to be fought.
@@FortuitusVideo representation and symbolic metaphors are so literal and lazy in Disney products. Couldn't imagine them making something that can be interpreted by the viewer for meaning like Taxi Driver. You know, like most great works of art.
So, Wanda is more powerful than she was in WandaVision right? If so, why not just "re-create" her kids...? She already knew that they weren't real, right? Or since she could possess herself, why not just stay in that body? She was planning on stealing kids from herself? Idk her motives are mind-boggling stupid
Or, why not go to a universe where Vision is raising the kids but Wanda died? The lack of Vision in this movie is truly astounding. It feels like an executive sent down a note saying Vision couldn't take part in saving Wanda because she doesn't need no man
The scene where she goes to happy Wanda's house should have gone on for longer with the kids throwing things at her, her breaking down after being rejected by not her kids then happy Wanda threatening her before zombie strange and Mexico Chavez showing up and beating her extra thicc ASS. Then she could try to say she's an avenger and strange could be like "not anymore. avengers don't steal other people's lives" then she flares up and does the runes thing again then America gains control of her powers and teleports them to another dimension which wanda follows and strange is now free of the runes and able to turn her magic back at her or cast his own rune room, or send her back to her own body or something. and once she's beaten they put her in a medically induced coma for the rest of forever. or until they introduce the x men and magneto sets her free to be his minion or something
Hell yeah! Finally someone who calls out the Mcu for making it 616, I literally muttered in theaters "oh come on.." when they said the Mcu is 616, it really angered me, especially since if it were 616 then we would have had the Fantastic Four already and a whole different story.
I don't blame sam raimi for this. Same as spiderman 3 it was the studio and writers screwing things up. Sam did a great job with the directing part of things, having nice set pieces etc. The problem is the writing and forced nonsense like america chavez.
I could see the obvious arc for scarlet witch and it would be dark and very Sam Rammi. and then disney G rated her 10 year character arc. this wasn't the worst marvel film but it's the one that ended my last thread of hope the writers/directors ever had a plan. or if they did disney exec's just dont care about story and character and are just selling...COOONNTTEENNTTT...
This guy knows what he’s talking about I didn’t have any msheu moments in the movie there might have been America Chavez punching Wanda but America didn’t do much she needed to do something I think this movie was ok I’d definitely give it a rewatch. I had mixed feelings about the ending though how strange was just like what are we waiting for let’s go!!
I still don’t understand why she’s upset about her kids WHO ARENT EVEN REAL! Instead she should be looking for vision or finding a way to resurrect her brother because at this point that seems more plausible then traveling the multiverse for fake kids
Maybe throw in the people who died in Sokovia and those at the Wakandan embassy she accidentally blew up trying to stop Crossbones? Her brother died as a result of their misguided alliance with Ultron. She had to sacrifice Vision for the greater good. Have it to where she's desperately trying to rectify the loss and mistakes of her past but is going about it in the worst way possible.
As a man that doesn't have kids i don't think I will ever understand the feeling a mother goes when they have children and when they loose them. My opinion would only be based in theory I would not have any real life theory.
She knows somewhere out there they're real, just not hers. Every night, the images of her children torture her. Hence, making her WANTS. I'm a woman and if one moment I'm happy and loving with my children while the next they're taken from me being so distant, not knowing if they're well or not (in this case, wanda wakes up), I'd be insane too. Every night the same images. Hence, why at the end Wanda tells the other Wanda "know that they'll be loved" so that she'll stop worry and let go. And between children and husband/spouse/partner, a woman will always choose their children first. So it's logical that Wanda doesn't go to find vision.
Was expecting Baron Mordo VS Strange, but instead we got told that Strange is a very bad person, while destroying Wanda's character. I don't get why sjw types complain,"there are no strong female heroes." Then they cheer that Wanda is now a horrible person. Glad I didn't money to watch it. Also, America Chavez fight scene is so fuckin funny when she punches Wanda. It's like watching someone play dance dance revolution, and kick, and punch and kick and punch.
They're upset that all the good strong female characters were already created by white guys decades ago. Hell, X-Men alone has like 50, all created before the 90s even. But I guess since they smiled and were attractive they don't count
I thought that too, well we did get a scene vs Mordo. I did find it odd how they act like he needs the knife in his hand when he literally gave the knife to Tony and disappeared in the snap SMH
"I don't get why sjw types complain,"there are no strong female heroes." Then they cheer that Wanda is now a horrible person." That's the horrible part. What we understand to be horrible, they perceive as *righteous and good*. As Gary says, they really do seem to have a problem with the whole right-and-wrong thing now, because ideology has so warped their morality.
The first Dr strange move, ended with a hint that next would be Baron Mordo VS Strange, so where on earth did they get this script from? I don't understand current Hollywood at all. They set up the next movie, then ignore everything they told in the last movie. Are there no real script writers left?

The amount of emotional validation they're heaping on the villains like Wanda and that chick from Falcon and Winter Soldier is really, really pathetic. FFS, Marvel, they are NOT GOOD PEOPLE. The fact that DC and Marvel are trying so hard to make these objectively horrible people into sympathetic characters is really disturbing. Instead of showing them having a change of heart and REPENTING for their crimes, we get "they'll never know what you sacrificed," and "I know you made it right." Endless emotional validation. PATHETIC.
Feminist writers man. Go get your fix elsewhere. I doubt the disney consumers have even seen 25% of the genuine, great Hollywood movies throughout history.

It could NOT have been like Wanda wishing her kids into existence in WandaVision. Based on pure logic and medical science, either of those ladies' gardens needed a seed...otherwise nothing would have grown, if you know what I mean. I can't believe this is the first time this thought has entered my mind, but it dawned on me that these writers were actually paid to create these shows. This is why hiring people based on anything other than ability to complete a certain task is a very dumb idea. I'm not sure the English vocabulary contains the words to accurately describe just how terrible Marvel's content has become.
It's not terrible, it's entertaining to a GIANT number of people. This movie almost grossed 1 Billion dollars. "Terrible" movies gross under 95 million. I actually liked and was entertained by this movie. Wanda fans liked it, except for the fact that she almost certainly died at the end. The people wanting to see the heroes that showed up in cameos as the Illuminati were happy as well, except they died too quickly. The fact that Dr. Strange can't defeat Wanda in a straight up fight and yet kept fighting to stop her makes his heroism that much greater. He was a much greater hero of this movie than he was in the first Dr. Strange. The Time Stone really is what defeated Dormannu. Here, neither he nor America defeated Wanda, Billy and Tommy, the sons of the alternate Wanda that she coveted defeated her. They rejected her, which defeated her quest, then in despair, she destroyed the Darkhold, and dropped it on herself which presumably killed her as well. The after credits lead apparently to Dr. Strange 3, with the Charlize Theron character as part of the adventure. Just like the after credits scene of WandaVision led to Dr. Strange 2.
@@jonathancummings6400 Well it earned so much money because was the continuation of a very good and popular movie, so people went thinking it would be as good but were mistaken. It was cool seing the cameos and a second later, one of the worst thing in the movie as it just spit in the face of 4 extremelly powerfull heros that couldnt take a wanda on a 5x1 (remembering it wanst the ovepower wanda of the original universe, but a weaker version of herself from that universe, so there is no excuses for that). Dr Strange was a greater hero with a better development in the first movie, he went from a arrogant doctor to being up to imprison himself for eternity on a death loop to protect the world from dormanmu, with the time stone being a tool for that (saing the jewel defeated dormanmu is like saying the infinity gauntlet defeated thanos instead of the avengers). And in the end wanda sons being the ones to "defeat" wanda is very weak and put all the journey of chaves and strange into the shitter, because if they havent interfered, wanda would still scary her sons and chilled out after that. The only one with a real development was chavez, which is very dumb as the movie should be about dr strange.
I gotta say, I liked Scarlett Witch way back in Age of Ultron. She had a ton of potential, and by the end of Endgame they had set her up with an awesome bit of character development. And it only took one miniseries and one bait and switch film to completely ruin all the work that went into her creation. Good Job Marvel! You will reap what you sew.
All the MCU movies now feel like they were thought up and written in a 3 day brainstorming session with everyone taking turns being like “oh yeah and what if this happened? Oh and wouldn’t it be cool if…”
Dr. Strange is made into a bumbling sidekick in his own movie to serve as a stepping stone for the “strong, MSheU character”. Hollywood wonders why discerning fans ignore these movies.
Bruh, fans love these movies. Dr. Strange already is kicking ass at the box office (best grossing movie of the year). Dr. Strange was also definitely NOT a bumbling sidekick. Not all fans are triggered by female superheroes. You've gone past just opposing wokeness into "OMG female heroes. REEE!!!!"

The director saying she can't follow the blocking in a comic book does make me wonder what grade in elementary school she managed to complete before becoming a "director", since that blocking is pretty much the exact same format as storyboarding which is part of her supposed job description.
The worst thing about Professor X's death in this movie is that it totally undermines Logan (IMO the best movie to ever carry the Marvel logo). He was given such a heartbreaking, yet perfect sendoff in that movie, that if you bring Sir Patrick Stewart back to reprise the role, you better have a damn good reason. And you don't need me to tell you that this movie did not.
All she had to do was hook up with however she wanted and get pregnant - had some kids and repeat but noooo she has to destroy anyone or anything she wants and is 'justified' because she had 2 phantom children.
In retrospect, it really makes you respect Scott Derrickson's decision. When an artist can't have their vision realized, it is better to part ways. The Fantastic 4 director also just bowed out, that should tell us all something.
It wouldn't surprise me but I also think Watts probably got burned out as well after doing the Holland Spider-Man trilogy. Now whoever becomes director of that movie will give us a good clue what we're in for. Right now, rumors say it's Bryce Dallas Howard but then again it could be John Krasinski directing and staring so who knows at this point.
@@thomasg2488 If Krasinski directs AND they actually let him do what he wants to do, then I'm all for it. Raimi had to do all these reshoots and cut runtime which is why there was so many problems in Doc Strange 2

All this killing to steal someone else's kids, a latina character with a clearly American accent and no character development and worst of all a complete and total waste of the return of Patrick Stewart of Professor X. Spiderman's writers had the right idea. JUST GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT. Why was it so hard here when the writers clearly had access to almost any character from Marvel?
Scarlet Witch was sympathetic.. when she "rain of fire" Thanos. Then, they decided to destroy her the same way they did to EVERY character that was established in the MCU. Even if they wanted to turn her evil, the way they did it destroyed the character. It is a GOT Daenerys in a small scale. Wanda was never a wacko. Back in Ultron she realized Ultron plans were bad and sign up to the Avengers. Later she was crushed by the accident in Nigeria in Civil War. She seemed to be a caring character. Then, she fought Thanos and afterwards her mind broke so much she suddenly went wacko and enslaved a whole city and did this destruction in this movie? Get out! Clea is the wife of Strange in the comics and was a sorcerer supreme. You can bet your behind Disney will make her the Sorcerer Supreme in the next movie. Strange was a guest in his own movie.
Realistically strange was built that much in the previous movies that showcased him. he was mostly exposition. which was why at the start of the movie he was at the wedding of that girl he never dated. look in truth he didn't have a strong foundation to lead the movie completely alone. Wanda isn't like other one-note villains, she needed more care than that. it made sense to put these two together. What this movie did do was setup strange for more story arcs to further flesh out his character.
@@FireJach They didn't really emphasize that point. The movie should have been about freeing her from it's clutches. That would have been far more satisfying that the confused trash we got especially that ending. Guess we can't have men rescuing women anymore.🤷🏻
I haven’t watched a single marvel production that came out after Endgame and the more of these reviews I see the more glad I am. I miss good writing in Hollywood.
same here, once I saw the plan for phase 4, i know where MCU is heading and I just call it quit after End Game... after seeing all the review, it is just as bad as I predicted it to be...
I think a lot of people are just overlooking the obvious. Marvel knows they're upsetting real comic book fans they just don't care. Even if they have to destroy the whole thing that they built up they are willing to do so to stick it to the real comic book fans who love mostly male characters. As Alfred told Batman in The Dark Knight "Some men just want to see the world burn".
@@ayokahbossYT I know right. It is certainly sexist to take beloved male characters who have been around for decades to make them take a backseat to johnny-come-lately or should I say Jane come lately woke, narrative fitting, garbage characters like America -nobody cares- Chavez who can't stand alone in their own movies so they have to piggyback off of beloved male characters. And then just to show they don't care they take those beloved male characters who are making their first appearances in the MCU and kill them off just to make their lame garbage characters be the last one standing to save the day. 🙄
That could potentially be true. So for who are they making these movies, if the movies hardly cover anything from the comics, and the only ones who enjoy it are people who either don't know the comics at all, or comic readers who don't care if the movies are NOTHING LIKE/BARELY the stories in the comics? It also begs the question: why are the pop culture sites even COVERING the comic side of these movies, if the comic side of things actually clearly points out the issues that the film side of the characters have to some degree?
Thank you for this review. I got high blood pressure when I read the comments from other reviews and videos. For me it was so horrible. Music at the background has nothing to do with the scenes. So confusing I couldn't understand the movie. Prof. Xavier had to face her to control her which he can do it in any other place. It was just horrible they ruined Dr. Strange.
Remember how hard Monica Rambeau's daughter tried to convince everybody that Wanda isn't a villain? And that by the end of WandaVision she dealt with her grief? WTF was the point of all that? Apparently she was wrong. lol. Btw, isnt there a Vision out there in the world? They just skipped over that. Crazy.
You got one detail wrong: Kamar-Taj is in Nepal in the MCU, not Tibet. The reason being that Disney will sell their own fans out to get awards for ‘diversity and inclusion’ but will refuse to recognize certain countries as certain countries because China.
I guess you would be annoyed too if Russia or China would make their biggest movies with country of Texas, freed from oppression of liberal-fascist America.
I am continually amazed (though I ought to be used to it by now) by Marvel's capacity to diminish and demonize its characters, its best artists, its original writers, its (now former) audience, its critics (Who used to be fans. See how that works?), and itself.
It's all for the "greater good". They burn it in sacrifice to their god "Wokeness". Nothing else matters, including Disney's plummeting stock prices. Hope it was worth it assholes?!
Not even worth a trip to the high seas for this one. From seeing Marvel on day one at the cinema, to not even bothering at all... Well done, MCU: you had a licence to print money and you blew it.
My mom loved Wanda's arc... However, even her said "I Understand her pain... But i will never justifie her actions" Wanda was a broken person, she is not a bad one... But she was a Villain.
you can be both broken and bad which she was absolutely both. this idea that her being broken negates her badness or cause it to not exist is one of the great moral failings of modern times.
nope she is a bad one a redeemable person is still a bad one if he is in need of redemption. she is not insane she knew what she was doing and why her actions are not justifiable.
"do we need a villain?" - Apparently not in a marvel movie where the female character is supposed to be evil, nope, when that happens it's sympathy time. Captain Marvel's "villain" was essentially just the device that controlled her powers, which she overcame herself. (You could say it was supposed to be Kree, but that's honestly debatable, they're ambiguous at best) Black widow had a male villain, but it was a woman who created the serum to brainwash the widows but she helped Natasha so everything's fine and she gets to walk free. Wandavision - Wanda is overtly a bad person for her actions but "they'll never know what you sacrificed" and she "did the right thing" in the end. And Multiverse if Madness where after Wanda murders hundreds to thousands it's said AGAIN that she "did the right thing" for destroying the darkhold. Anytime a female is the supposed antagonist they always have to try to sympathetically justify their actions because in wave 4 marvel men are not allowed to talk down, or rationalize women or physically over power them, the women can only be confronted by other women, or they have to solve what ever problem on their own. (This is on full display for multiverse if madness where only the women are able to throw down on even terms, the message of her kids is attempted by the men but only sinks in when it's herself)

What those reshoots were or if they were even necessary? I can only imagine Sam was screaming those two horrible words, "not again!" You are also right in that this wasn't a proper sequel to Doctor Strange. So there is a story of Dr. Strange vs Mordo, but apparently, they decided not to make it into a movie. I'm a Marvel noob. I prefer DC Comics only lately with both entities the comics being as weak as their movies. But ever since I was a kid I loved picking up DC Comics and yet turned on the TV to watch a Marvel show or movie. I saw Marvel Rising only for Gwen Stacy because I loved her in Into the Spider-Verse. And when I saw America Chavez I felt she was boring as hell, a cheap pandering to my skin color. This movie was no different, she was a glorified series of tropes - the MacGuffin, the damsel in distress, to the last minute and nauseating Mary Sue. From the moment Strange was brought in to attend Christine's wedding I could understand it. Make no mistake I find it wonderful for a man's heart to be trampled with muddy, steel-toed sharp heeled cleats as much as anyone... Sarcasm is clearly intended. And of course, the nasty question, "Are you happy?" The answer to that question is of course a defeating NO. But why lie about it? It would have been disrespectful, it would have cheapened Christine's happy day. He is not happy BUT he is content. He is a superhero and what makes him not just that but a real man is that he does not whine and cry about it. He lives with the pain, and he deals with it, unlike another so-called heroine in this movie. I am, of course, referring to Wanda. As to the idea of why no Pietro or Vision. My guess is Wanda knows that if she wanted to live in a universe with her children she couldn't afford to have anyone convince her otherwise in that universe. Vision would not want to live with a corrupt version of his wife, his stone would have alerted him to that. Or her brother Pietro who would have known his sister since he was a child. As well as a version of her children without powers, one of whom in her universe had mind-reading powers. I found the Illuminati thing as mixed bad. Lashana Lynch looked pretty cool as Captain Marvel, with Maria Rambeau instead becoming the character. My guess is both Carol and Maria were chosen to fly the mission with Mar-Vell and they both became Captain Marvel. Although apparently in this universe Carol was killed and immortalized into a statue that kills her friend some time afterward. Inhumans wasn't that great a show but it was nice seeing the return of Anson Mount, I just wish Serinda Swan returned as Medusa. Patrick Stewart was great as Xavier. John Krasinski looked great as Reed Richards. Clearly, it was great seeing Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter. But I'm surprised you didn't mention what was pretty obvious. They superimposed her face on a female body that wasn't hers. She would have had to have been given a real supersoldier serum to have looked all tall and jacked and I checked, it was a stunt double who did Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Tilda Swinton's Ancient One, both taller than her. At least it was more respectable than her manly appearance in What If and of course, they didn't use a man's body as they did with TaskMistress. Nevertheless, they nerfed all these great heroes in a matter of minutes. I get that Scarlett Witch is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, but so were many of these characters. It really was embarrassing. I'm not as critical as you but I am still critical. This movie was embarrassingly woke at times but in my mind, it could have been even worse. Sadly, that is the only good thing to see it.
Thank you! Probably the best review--better than that neckbeard screaming in the video, anyway. It was just kind of a filler movie...but it did have some fun, when it focused on the character study of Strange. And that was the best part. Seeing him become less formal and making peace with where he was in life, instead of trying to do all and be all. Being himself. And he was a likeable older brother figure to the forgettable Stargirl sidekick. I'm looking forward to the next movie, if that make sense. This one seemed to just clean off a lot of baggage and make it fresh.
In first movie mordo tells strange that the rings can be used to travel through the multiverse so that means the whole point of Amerika Chavez is ridiculous.
It wouldn't have been so bad if Wanda just asked Strange and Co. for help dimension hopping and they, knowing what she's after and on the heels of the Spider-Man fiasco, tell her no. So she finds Chavez, who's an amateur and naive enough to be convinced to help sad lady, and calamity ensues. Chavez joins forces with Strange at the last minute to help clean up the mess she and Wanda made. Chavez learns a valuable lesson, Wanda doubles down and continues on the path to full on villainy (this needed more development).
@@jonnyg9865 Yes, you could have had more or less the same kind of movie, but just with all the things we already know is possible in this universe - that would have made more sense, and you wouldn't have had all these unnecessary additions that contradict what the rest of the universe had already established.
What I don’t like about Wanda’s character is that her powers seem just too vaguely defined. It’s magic so everything is possible. One time she seems to be able to do anything and the next she won’t do something obvious just because of the plot. Until Wanda’s powers get better defined and follow some simple rules and limitations, anything that has her as a character will either make no sense or be boring. That’s why I think Wanda is more appropriate as a hero for kids’ movies.
Defined? Wanda is an Omega Level Mutant. Wanda literally almost doesn't have limitations. She's literally wiped mutant's out with her word's just by saying NO MORE MUTANT'S. In the comic's. Just shhh she's way more powerful than Doctor Strange it's not even close.
Dude have you even read the comics? The inconsistency in her powers in the comics is on a totally different level. One issue she’ll basically just be throwing red energy bolts and getting KOd by random villains - next she’ll be changing all of reality.
@@derekfreeman6517 I think that’s exactly the problem: that, as you said, she almost doesn’t have limitations. So, that will make it difficult to write a plot where you don’t ask yourself: why didn’t she just do this or that? I mean, once you’ve seen her doing almost anything, it becomes hard not to think about a million ways that she could handle things and win. So it’s better not to think about it too much and just enjoy the ride, as someone else said. That’s why I think the stuff based on her is better suited for kids who won’t think about things too deeply.
@@garrym5682 I agree with you on the inconsistency. In my opinion that reduces the ability for adults to enjoy a film, because if you think about what you just saw for a fraction of a second, it probably won’t make sense. For example, being able to remove someone’s mouth with your mind means you’re able to alter people’s bodies. After I saw that happening, it just became impossible not to think why she didn’t just remove Dr. Strange’s hands or a million other things she could’ve done. As I said in another reply, this is why I think this is more appropriate for kids. As you can probably tell, I haven’t read any comics.
It would have been a good idea if the kids were real from a different universe and did have some strong connection with Wanda. That way Wanda would have a real reason to traverse the multiverse looking for them. plus have a vision that looking for her as well trying to stop her as his version of her died doing something similar.
Eh, I don’t agree personally. I think Wanda was... Aight. Besides being insufferable at best, it got the point to me that she was way off the deep end. My main issue was following along. Oh my goodness it just bounced far too much for me. One area, to the other in a moment, the next and the next. Barely establishing much while talking a whole ton. My main grievance is why they killed the Illuminati Strange. He did nothing wrong besides an accident, and even accepted responsibility for it. Yet the Illuminati consisting of two decent people (Mr Fantastic and Charles) just thought it was fair to bump em off? And the wasted evil strange. Damn that was hurtful.
I still wonder, both Scarlet witch and Dr Strange have moves that are so deadly which can be fatality to the opponent. They don't pull out those moves till the very last moment or not frequently, instead, they use fancy but useless stuff that don't even deal any damage to others. (for example Dr Strange energy saw, shield, rope/ or Wanda's tiny energy balls,... Why don't they just crush the enemy brain with force, or create a indestructable shield to receive no damage)
that's a problem that my uncle and i were talking about last weekend. dr strange and the magic users of the mcu have undefined power sets so you don't know exactly what they're capable of. meaning they can just pull out a random spell and do whatever. eg stange in no way home could wipe everyone's minds of peter being spiderman.
I forget where this quote is from, probably an Asimov story: "You can't brush money's hair." It was in reference to a woman leaving her well paying job on an asteroid to go back to Earth and have kids.
They really did Doctor Strange dirty in What If season 2, he was literally the villain. Post Endgame was really the death of the MCU, as it's now the M-She-U.
Wanda didn't seem to miss her brother Quicksilver with whom she spent whole childhood and most of her adulthood,
And the love of her life Vision,
But yeah she wanted her made up kids (for like 2 weeks) with whom she barely spent any time with...🤦🏻♂️

Plus, it could set up exactly how much of a threat the multiverse truly is
Scarlet witch is some kind of unicorn that exists only in one universe, so they couldn't do that.
This was my initial idea of the film when I first saw the trailer in nwh . Sinister strange and alternate universe Wanda vs MCU strange and Wanda but after seeing what they made was just a bit disappointing.
This would require two things modern Hollywood lacks: planning and good writing
I'm pretty sure that's what we got.
Ours was that universe lol

Much like any big franchise, they are chugging along doing what they can with the actors available. It's a business--they need to keep making money, any pause in the periodic releases means lost revenue for that timeframe.
Are they creatively bankrupt, though? No...I wouldn't think so. The Thor movie and She-Hulk previews dont fill me with any desired to see them. But this movie I think largely suceeded because of what the opposite this reviewer said--they kept the focus ON Strange, so the woke tidbits couldn't fester and linger to take over on their own.

A couple of musings from this violation of my favorite Marvel character:
All I could think at the end was

While this is happening, Wong is struggling to hold Wanda and yelling at Strange, who continues saying something to America Chavez that the audience doesn't hear.
America gets her girl boss moment of actually using her powers with intention for the first time, and brings Strange back from the alternate dimension. Strange and Wanda have a final one-vs-one battle after Wong is incapacitated again (sorry Wong, that happens to you a lot in this movie I guess.)
Wanda gets the best of Strange, because she's more powerful or whatever, but just as Wanda has him ready for the kill, Strange yells "Now!" to America Chavez, who again uses her powers to open another a portal.
This accomplishes three things:
1) Wanda still gets to be the all powerful scarlet witch, more powerful than anyone else in the film, and still be the agent of her own demise without claiming the actual agency of the moment.

She mentions him twice in the whole movie, once because he told her about the multiverse, second bc she had to kill him.
But nothing about missing him or getting him back or anything like that.
Whats funnier is that vision is alive.

How does Captain Carter last longer than Xavier when he is in the mindscape?
@@jb-gt8oi
Okay, but he called her the scarlet witch and even said he knew about the prophecy that her destiny was either to destroy or rule.
Also, X gets his crap rocked all the time OUTSIDE of the mindscape. But it has been repeatedly said that in the mindscape(an actual plane of reality in the Marvel universe) that he is basically the second most powerful being right behind The Phoenix force boosted Jean. Even Frost isn’t able to match him there.
That said, even if you want to make the case that he was gonna get beat bad because of the Scarlet Witch abilities, he should have lasted longer than Captain Carter. Why does the woman with peak physical fitness and nothing else last longer than an omega level telepath in the mindscape?

The comics did Wanda's slip into madness so much better, because she wasn't doing crap for selfish reasons. Even the excuses I hear are grade A retarded crap.
"She's just trying to get back to her children.'
Her kids were pure figments of her imagination.
These are my problems with this multimess of madness:
-Strange can take Chavez powers right?
Too many questions for a fantasy nonsense movie. People who seek for answers in such movies make a big mistake

The only reason to choose the path she chose is either because:
a. She's stupid
b. She's evil
c. Marvel Studios is too stupid to write an intelligent screenplay.
She didn’t look for another Vision because he still exists in her own reality.
@@majorlazor5058 wrong
@@grahammcintosh240 did you watch Wanda vision? Vision is alive and well
I think it’s because in this sense she made/ birthed those kids with her powers the way real women give birth. Vision is just someone who came into her life and is irreplaceable in that sense. I guess the connection to the kids she made/ birthed is stronger so her obsession with them would be also.

What annoyed me is that they are treating corruption, grief, loss, madness, insanity and ultimately a human being turned into a bag of emotional pain, as a joke. But well, whatever, Marvel doesn't know how to be serius, they are shallow with everything, even with their political sh*t.
Even if they did get the writers from arcane there would be too much interference from mavel and Disney to actually let them write a story as good as arcane's

@@bradjd6957 wouldn't it be the same kinda loss if you loose a sibling, parents or grandparents?

@@PreferredCustomer Screaming??? His arguments were loud but...Screaming? Seriously?
"Killed in order of privilege." 13:30 I litterally died😂
@@derekfreeman6517 they wasted her character so much. She should have been the next big threat like thanos. It had so mich potential
Doctor Strange 2 and the whole M-She-U are CANCER. Nobody needs cultural marxism. America Chavez is worthless and disgusting. Boycott this woke trash.
They are real
@@uajrh1 They mean the kids she made in WandaVision
😐 They are!
REASONS
that means the movie ends quick, so they won't do that. lmao
Because you won't have a story then
that's a problem that my uncle and i were talking about last weekend. dr strange and the magic users of the mcu have undefined power sets so you don't know exactly what they're capable of. meaning they can just pull out a random spell and do whatever. eg stange in no way home could wipe everyone's minds of peter being spiderman.
@@MinecraftIsLoveMinecraftIsLife what you just stated is kinda the problem I have with Star Wars and "force users".
That opening edit didn't deserve to be that funny...but it was....well played 👏👏👏
I’m glad you pointed out the “they get killed in order of their privilege” scene. I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt my brain.
It’s defiantly aligning that old white men are the least privileged of us all
What's does that mean?
@@shakeemdiggz2354 i gess it means that she killed the most privileged first: the white men, then the white woman, and then the black woman
@@ryanpipoo I guess. But Charles was last
@@shakeemdiggz2354 well. He is in a wheelchair
Don't forget the M-She-Uish line of all:
"You broke the rules and were a hero. I broke the rules and I'm a villain. That doesn't seem fair."
"Let the past die, kill it if you have to". These franchises do love their own foreshadowing, don't they? :P
That line was only there to show us how the darkhold corrupted her
I forget where this quote is from, probably an Asimov story: "You can't brush money's hair." It was in reference to a woman leaving her well paying job on an asteroid to go back to Earth and have kids.
They really did Doctor Strange dirty in What If season 2, he was literally the villain. Post Endgame was really the death of the MCU, as it's now the M-She-U.
