      @Breadloaf-kr4gi I agree! He did an excellent job & made it feel super intense. People can say whatever want to say he doesn’t care & shit, but I disagree. He was very committed in this, definitely more than he was in previous piece of shit Crystal Skull film.

      @@DavidPoddany That would be an interesting thing to pull off. Maybe the lecture didn't even have to be about Archimedes. Maybe Indy could've said "What if the Apollo missions were done 2,000 years ago? Well, according to continental drift, the launch site would be here and the landing site would be here." Although he'd have to know those places and where they were back then.

      @joshuawillis602 2 місяці тому

      That’s false. It’s clear that continental drift was crucial. Because they needed it to get to their accurate destination. The problem here isn’t about traveling back in time. The problem is going to the right timeline. Without continental drift they ended up in ancient times

    • @re1010
      @re1010 Місяць тому +1

      @@joshuawillis602actually, it mention that the Dial was designed as a "forced hand". Archimedes is making people thinking it takes them to time period, when it's just fixed to his.
      I think indy was trying to cause doubt, and being intelligent in so many fields helps you create many credible theories to cause people to abort things.

    • @alexayers9463
      @alexayers9463 10 місяців тому +5

      Firstly, this is fictional; we’re talking about time travel based (at least in part) on GEOGRAPHY 😂. Secondly, you made it to this fifth film after the guy survived a nuclear blast in a fridge; are you quite sure it ACTUALLY bothers you? Finally, you’re expected to imagine that calculating the ebbs and flows of space-time so as to make time travel possible is a rigorous discipline that requires not only a legendary intellect (in this case, that of Archemides) but…probably some pretty precise calculations? Pretty precise integration of a ton of variables? Besides, Geological change might not be perceptible to the human eye after 2000 years, but you can bet your ass it has changed significantly nonetheless, in one way or another.

      Real life drift moves at the same speed as your nails grow, roughly an inch every year. Give or take a few, 2,000 years is 170 feet of drift. Even if its complete fiction, Indy points out that as much as 10 degrees off is substantial enough.

    • @joeytaylor1021
      @joeytaylor1021 9 місяців тому

      No not really, but it's apparent to me that Indy is 100% reaching for a reason to make them believe they're not going to 1939 in a last ditch effort to try and make them turn around and not win.
