Look at Zach's 2015 semi finals performance, it uses the same technique of playing to the beat, and adds some massive tech too. No hate, it's just cool to see the scene evolving
Players always knew about this, you can see in 2010 Jensen Kimmitt did the same thing at different parts in his freestyle. I think Gentry kinda overdid it and it just looks bland to me, you can see he's really looking for points.

He is using the polished rim shutter with a center trac bearing I know because when you buy the the polished rim shutter it come just like the he used.
