Personally im 50/50 on felix however in unai we must trust !!!
It does look like we're predominantly going to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation, so this is how I see the squad as it stands - although players are flexible and can move about.

Nicely done but with Iling able to play left wing back we are 💯 going to sell at least one of Moreno/Digne, especially with Dignes wages. I'm amazed we keep getting linked to CMs as you've shown there, we are completely stacked!

Big question for me is where does Konsa play? Are Konsa and Torres a good enough partnership in the centre aerially? Or is he going to play RB?
We have the same issue with keeper as we do with striker. Who is going to want to come in when they know that they aren't going to be first choice? Immediately that limits choices to either a young player, and then you're limiting their development or an older player who potentially is on higher wages. It's definitely tricky.
Villa need to play to Cam's strengths when they play him. He's not Ollie he's a different tyre of player.
23:30 crunching the numbers, not sure where £140mil came from looking at the transfers so far. Players missed that have gone include £10mil in for Iroegbunam or £20mil for Kellyman, even 7 figures for Chrisene and Sinisalo
Felix could be a risk but we have faith in Unai to make sure that doesn't happen. My main concern is at centre back, Pau and Konsa are solid but Carlos is inconsistent and Mings may not be the same as he was , so if anything happens to Pau or Konsa we would be in big trouble. Spot on with the backup GK Dan, only big question mark I’ve ever had during Emery’s time so far. Probably a top guy but it’s blatantly obvious he’s nowhere near good enough. It’s like starting a goal down when he’s on the team sheet.
PSR is about revenue not just transfer sale fees. The new kit sponsorship, CL money to come and front of shirt sponsor all offset transfer fees on purchases
100% need a backup keeper ... Rather have adeyemi over felix ..prob a better CB than Carlos too dominant CB in the air see if we can stop conceding so many goals, love frimpong at RB but likely won't happen... Mateta would be an ideal Duran replacement love archer but he isn't going play ahead of Watkins be thrown on if we're chasing a game which won't suit archer as the box will just be full of defenders and we will just be crossing it at that point and he isn't that type of striker
If you do our finances on tranfers , players in ,players out we have spend around 6-7 m ( including Diaby ,not duran as still a villa player ) so if we did sell Duran for the quoted 35 + a player then even if Felix is 60m it goes on the books as 35/40m and seems a much better deal 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Think it's harsh to say 'he didn't do it there'...he got similar numbers to Diaby in thr league ant got a fair few goals in the champs league.
I would agree we can find better but playing regularly in a Barcelona side surely has to improve our squad with a ton of upside
Talking about Joao Felix like he had a terrible season at Barca… he had two less goal involvements than Diaby did last season, and yet Felix played 1000 minutes less than Diaby.

Villas net spend this summer is about £6 million,so if we sell Duran for what we're looking for then we should be about £34 million in the black & we must've had a budget too begin with. 😊
Do we have an alternative to Joao Felix? IMO that position is the key to our season

carlos is a great defender , the only things that let him down are , tackling, heading, closing, running and marking, feeny needs some coaching his body shape / angles he was taking were all wrong the other night, the way he was standing gave the forwards a chance to beat him i am sure teh coaches will be telling him this and he is young

Think we need more cover at CB especially if Carlos goes. If we can get Hermoso on a free thats great, otherwise i'd like someone young who can develop. Be good to be trained by the coaches for 6 months and then when Mings is back sending the new guy out on loan for 6 months.
They should have sent Duran out on loan in January to get some minutes, And they should definitely send him on a yearly loan now to get some game time. I wouldn't wash my hands of Duran because he's a bit annoyed about not playing.

We are light at Centre Back. Duran will need to be replaced if he goes. Otherwise OK, IMHO.

Surely David de Gea would be a great shout for #2 keeper? The guy is out of contract, he's sitting at home waiting for offers. Hugely experienced at every level, an excellent man to come in during a high pressure game if Emi is injured. Don't see a downside?

I think wages are an issue but for me his biggest criticism at United was that his distribution was poor. Don't think Emery would see him as fitting into his way of playing
