@@ph1021how exactly is he supposed to double check? Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think Pat is some dude with big name inside resources lol. Only possible reason you could say people should’ve maybe held off is because the Bears themselves never posted anything like they did for Rome. People were already reporting Rome signed though like 15-20 minutes before Chicago even posted anything.

If it’s truly just the franchise tag thing(kinda doubt it) why wouldn’t the Bears just say fuck it and drop it? I mean I get the benefit to the team of having that option. Let’s be real though. He’ll either be signing a long term extension at the end of his 4th season or we’ll be back in the same position looking for another QB. If Caleb is what we think he is why would we even think about franchise tagging him off his rookie contract? Give the man his money at that point.
