I really need to up my shoe game! I have a ton but tend to only wear 1-2 a season. Trying to change that but sometimes just having something reliable to grab when you are trying to get kids out the door wins the day.
I fell and broke my hip which hasn't healed well, so I have not been able to wear my normal shoe! I always wore high heels with straps around the ankle and open toes, usually in white, red, navy or black 3/31/2" heels. I have no idea what to wear now as one foot keeps swelling as well! I have had to up my size and for the first time in my life bought a pair of trainers/sneakers in white. All my shoes and boots had to be thrown out!!! I have really been enjoying your videos, particularly your high energy personality!
Shoes make the outfit, and here are 15 strategies for picking the right pair! These aren't rules; they are ideas. Do you have any questions about shoes? Let's chat!
Thanx for the good advice Nada...you never disappoint. We don't all have lots of money to buy shoes so nude or metallic shoes are the most versatile options for me. ❤
Shoes are my biggest fashion challenge since I have very sensitive feet and wear a heel lift. So, I have learned to make my shoe choices and then build outfits.
Thank you, Nada! Useful tips as usual. Buying shoes is the hardest for me. Sometimes it takes a lot of luck to find really comfortable shoes that are beautiful and fit you.
Hi Nada! Here is a good question for you- if a mary jane shoe is my ‘go to’ for a (closed toe shoe) casual to a dressy-casual outfit…., would ‘retired/casual/boho’ style STILL be the right style name? I wear a lot of Banana Republic and Paige style outfits …
Thanks for the tips. I started wearing shoes close to my skin color with most of my dresses several years ago. It took awhile to get used to doing that as I was raised to match my shoes to my dress color. I still prefer to match my shoes to the color of my pants. I am fair skinned with dark blonde hair so wearing lighter color shoes makes sense with your tip of wearing a shoe close to your hair color. I want my shoes to blend with my outfits instead of stand out so no bold colors or printed shoes for me, although I love looking at them in stores.
I never considered matching my shoes to my hair color! My hair is silver, so I have a lot of options to choose from, right now. 😅 Triple my shoe budget? OK. I'll tell hubby Nada said! Lol
As someone who who now has a wide foot, TY menopause 🙄. I used to have trouble finding a wide width stylish shoe, I’ve recently found Nordstrom has a nice selection of cute shoes in my width. Yay! Great tips Nada 💖 I’m working on a new shoe wardrobe. Any tips for adding holes to shoes that have straps? So I need a silver/ grey shoe since I grew out of my grey, I think that would look cool! If you know any brands that carry wide width and cute, comfy a bonus I’d appreciate u sharing.
(Melanie here) Thank you so much, Nada. This video was so, so helpful. My favorite shoe right now is a two tone (nude with black toe) ballet flat. I would love to get some leopard ballet shoes also. Those would be fun and would be versatile.
There's something about my build...my feet are kind of large and my legs are short...that makes it difficult for me to find a shoe that's flattering. I also refuse to wear uncomfortable shoes because I walk a lot. But I do appreciate them on other people. If I find a pair that I like that look good, I'm going to love them.
Another great bunch of tips-thank you!! I really liked your suggestion about tripling the budget for shoe purchases. I am a teacher and spend the ENTIRE day on my feet-ask any teacher you know and they will confirm this. My shoe budget changed due to arch support issues and I will happily make adjustments (I don't have a Starbucks habit, for ex.)to be able to buy shoes with excellent arch support! Maybe thinking about our feet/knees/hips when we buy shoes will be more important as we age -I have learned the hard, painful way that I must have good shoes and that the money spent for these is part of my self-care and long term health care priorities. Looking forward to the next video!!
Thanks, Nada! You ‘shoe-er’ gave me a lot to consider. On the nude sling back shoe with the little bow--is a kitten heel like a micro-high heel? I’m going to be checking out some shoes online now!
A lot of the upscale classic shoes have leather soles which in a wet climate ruins them really quickly. Whish there would be more classic upscale shoes with a thin rubber sole or at least a thin rubber cover on the bottom. I always have the soles fixed with a thin rubber layer under leather soles but that gets very expensive
Shoes/boots the same colour as your trouser/jean/pant leg will elongate your legs. Wedges can look very clunky, so can platform shoes. Suede is very elegant, more than nubuck or leather imo
Gosh - I love shoes, but after 4 foot surgeries and a 5th yet to go, I am stuck with true orthopedic shoes, real orthopedic shoes, not Naturalizers or those that “mask” orthopedic shoes but aren’t really and still hurt. Someday I would like to start my own company for real orthopedic shoes that are actually cute and stylish, because it could really happen. Just so far, no one has cared to do this.
I wouldn't mind spending a lot on a nice pair of shoes if I can be sure they work for me. Also the toes and heels get scuffed easily so I hesitate to wear nice shoes all the time.

Great information! Never realized the importance of a shoe. Looking for leopard ballet flat.

Awesome advice Nada! I can’t wait to “find myself in a shoe.” I’ve never heard that before but this will be fun!❤
Excellent - I always have trouble buying shoes -
I can always find room for another pair of shoes!
Shoes and handbags are my weakness. 😆

Naturalizer has a nice selection of stylish, wide width shoes.

Your hair looks extra awesome today! ❤
Great video, Nada. I never thought about shoes to match my hair! Live my skin colors. W will have to consider that!

The Walking Company, I have found, has very cute Arch-Support/High-quality shoe options, too ! ❤️
This was such an informative video. I plan to send pictures of my choices to you before purchasing. Thanks Nada.
KAHMUNE looks great, thanks
Wow! Good stuff!😊
Love, love, love your videos!❤️

Seems like my feet have grown or swollen, could be the heat or my age/edema. Either way looks like I need some updates! Great tips!

Mixing seems like less shoes should work better but that’s not necessarily true.
@@punkaakee you’re right! It gives you more options most of the time
I would be a boot, any kind of boot.
