Planishing hammers are air-powered metal shaping tools where the dies impact both sides of the material to stretch or smooth metal. The advantage of a planishing hammer is that it can work in very tight spaces and affect a precise area on the panel. The lower die can be changed out to achieve different radius shapes in steel and aluminum.

This is a good video, thanks for taking the time to make it.
I used a mittler brothers 24" for about 8 years it's far less expensive but is not really very good but agin far less expensive. I got a mechammer about 6 months ago and have not even touched the mittler brothers hammer once sense.
