I recently bought a sickle bar mower for my J.D.3025e, but what i really wanted was a drum or disc. mower, i was told i didn't have enough H.P. for this so i settled for the six and a half foot sickle type. But I've seen on UA-cam where they make a drum mower that only requires 25 h.p. Needless to say I'm a little bit disappointed. You had a great video thank you.
Drum mowers are far more durable than disc and will cut a steel pipe off without tearing up. Try that with a disc or cycle. Slower maybe...but cheaper to run.
I have the same mower but can't use on my 7710 or case cab tractor the mower when it swings around for use gets on the rear tire . Any suggestions on adjusting the mower you don't seem to have that problem
We had two sickle mowers. Bought a used disc mower and sold the sickle mowers. The disc mower could do the job in half the time. I was told about drum mowers a couple of years ago. Didn’t think much about them. This is probably the fourth or fifth video I have seen in the past three weeks. Not one video had any major problems with their drum mower. There are commercial guys that complain in the comments. I’m not commercial. I’m thinking about getting one now! Especially since I have Bahia grass fields. This video convinced me. After a year plus, do you have any issues with your drum mower now?
I have used it with a 50hp (PTO) and 61hp (PTO) they both handle fine as far as pulling it. The biggest issues with the smaller tractor is the drum mower is very heavy. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the quick replay. I have a MF 255 and is a bit heavier than the newer tractors so I'll think I'll take the plunge and get a Samasz. I'm not sure whether to get the one with hydro lift or manual. Have you had any issues with the hydraulics on your mower?

I have never had the first issue
Awesome. Thank you!
The biggest problem with drum mowers is the cost of fuel, and must be filled more in a mower than in a disc mower.
Hi. Poland mover nice :D How working, good or not? :D
I have used it for 2 years and it has worked great.
Where did you purchase this?
How many HP is the tractor you use with it?

I like the hydro because of the weight. I have a couple more videos of it working and my thoughts on it.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.. We sell the Farm Maxx units out of Poland at CarverEquipment.Com They appear to be the same mower as you have.
