It's because she's really young and naive. She sees Tanya is needlessly breaking up their family from her perspective. She doesn't see Max's bad side when he's cheating or being awful, she only saw him as a good dad to her. That's why when she got older she saw him for who he really was and resented him sometimes like when Lauren did around this time.
