Not gonna lie, I didn't think Dustin had it in him anymore to perform this part of their catalogue because he completely changed the way he sings around 2012-2014 ish. But damn was I wrong. Straight killed this REVISIT!

@@zer0divid3 I also prefer the original in most respects, but it's been over a decade since thrice has been a heavy band. They were different people in a totally different time and place than they are now. I've accepted that they're no longer the band that changed how I thought about music (multiple times) but I'm glad they're still making music for themselves and other people to enjoy.
@@perpetualgrimace I was just like to hear some new stuff in the old style because it was music that more gave hope then put people to sleep. And if they're going to go back to the roots and honor this tattoo on the back of my neck and its original purpose and I've got there, they should totally do it before Dustin loses his voice anymore
@@Jt7166 i think dustins voice is going out and this is too melodic andd does a disservice to the feel of the original album. wish i could hear the other tracks tho. this was their next to last decent album unfortunately. i watched them unveil this for the first time at warped tour with an extended Under A killing Moon that was awesome and it morphed into this track. was amazing and next level at the time

At first I was shocked at how different it all sounds. The more I listen to it, the more I like the difference.
I will say the mix on this album seems very muddy compared to the original, the guitar tones are very beefy! But I'm sure they produced this themselves whereas the original was mixed by the guy who mixed Metallica ...And Justice for All so .. 😆

The most repeated opinion I've heard on this is that some of it works and some of it doesn't. That's where I fall with it too. I hope this gets these guys back to their roots tho
I can’t even distinguish the difference between this and the original and I’m a musician.
The original is still better it’s even got a different sound from the singers tone to the guitar tone
