I bought a 2015 gsxs 750 and have logged in over 800 miles and this review couldn't be further off. It is NOT sluggish. it is not Detuned, it is retuned. A successful company like suzuki would not waste R and D by just down tuning. it is a factory streetfighter not a supermoto.

***** I don't know about Yamaha bias but I definitely thought you were harsh on the 636 for not being an older model R6. Didn't even hit the highway.Unfortunately the GSX-S on the other hand sounds exactly like what I expected. I was hoping you might change my mind on it, but it just doesn't seem to be "supersport" quality. Be better off making a gsxr into a streetfighter.

Not the greatest review from you. Not once did you mention how the suspension handled all the city bumps, highway expansion joints, or how flickable the bike was... New tires not withstanding. You were very fixated on its engine braking and never even commented on its REAL brakes. No, this bike doesn't have different ride modes (buy an Aprilia Shiver), but neither does the FZ-07. It's more like you expected the bike to be boring and you never left that mindset the entire review... shame on you.

I read a first ride from Motorcycle.com and they gave it a subpar review, especially since it's been out since 2011 in other parts of the world. The GSX-S750 didn't outperform the z800 or the FZ-07 & 09. So, it's not just Chase. Suzuki should've changed some things up before the release in the US, but dropped the ball.

It's suspended much better and ergonomically it's way better setup than the 09. And I promise you when it gets going hard 750 easily gets away from 07 and stays ahead of the 09 for sure...

@@enthused7591 In 2019, the MT-07 is around 7k... The GSX-S750 almost 9k which puts it into MT-09 territory. The MT-09 is better than the Suzuki in every way. The MT-07 makes a lot of power down low in the rpms which makes its a great usable street bike without breaking too many laws. For example, i've owned both the MT-07 (75hp/50ftlb) and a 2015 ZX6R (130hp/50ftlb). They make the same torque but since the 07 is a twin, it makes it all down low which is better in all situations except the highway. The MT 07 is a better overall street bike than the Inline-4 ZX6R 636.

I really don't get why you are comparing the Suzuki with the FZ-07. The Suzuki is from 2011 and comes with a retuned GSXR 750 K5 engine (4 cylinders - inline - 106 hp) while the much smaller FZ-07 from 2014 has a 74 hp parallel twin engine in it. Considering this, the FZ-07 obviously has more torque on lower rpm so it might be even better suited for everyday use in the city than the Suzuki. The Suzuki on the other hand is the overall stronger bike, that might be perfect for countryroads or even the race track. After all the Suzuki should be rather compared to other sporty-nakeds like the Z750/800 or the FZ-08 while the FZ-07 is way closer (also from an optical point of view) to the ER-6N, SFV 650 or even the KTM 390.

  • @prettyp5415

I would chose the Suzuki S750 all day every day. So how is the engine braking? Does it need more grunt? 11.1 quarter mile.... hmmm slow tins't it... 140 top speed, what a dog. How are the brakes? How does it actually corner?...you know, in turns. Some of us like smooth predictable great all around, fast motorcycles. Please you really do not have to only compare it to other motorcycle. Honestly, intense torque has a cool factor but will this bike be sluggish on any level in any situation Chase? Chase, i really like your reviews but not so much this one.

Comparing a inline four with a parallel twin is like comparing a mustang V8 with a Ferrari V12 they are very different engines. If you want low mid range power get the twin if you want mid high end power get an inline four.

this guy makes no sense. i ride a Bandit 650 and that thing flies with "just" 84 horses. theres almost no regular car i can't overtake or places i can't go to with it.
i really don't get why ppl always complain about a lack of power. i rode a mt-125 and that thing hat 0 pull when compared to any regular >500cc motorcycle and still it was an awful lot of fun.
while he is conplaining about the power he is also driving around like a regular commuter and within the speed limit. How exactly could he tell???? my Bandit stays in 2nd gear almost all the time during city driving as it is barely at 6000 rpm at 60km/h so what exactly does lack of power really mean??

I bought this bike almost 2 months ago, almost got 900 miles on it now. I love it. I've owned a DRZ 350 and a ninja 250. But I've never really rode a bike with similar power. If you're only in your first few years of riding and never had a supersport I promise this has as much power as you could want. Like Chase says it is LITTLE slow back and forth but in a corner you feel in complete control and locked in. 90% of my riding is up in the mountains and canyons by my house and it's perfect for me. I CAN get the front wheel to pop up in 2nd gear over 8000, no clutch. Speed shifting on this bike is awesome. I don't love the seating position for sure. I'm 6'4" so that will always be a problem but something is screwy between the handlebars and seating position. My back starts to hurt after 45 min of riding. I have taken it over 148mph and still felt great (besides wind of course). From reviews I've read the fz09 gets out of control at 115.. Great bike for the price if you're questioning getting supersport but not positive you want to risk that much yet. Mirrors fucking suck for sure.

BTW, if you've ridden enough bikes you'll find most, if not all, motorcycles have a dead spot between 4-5krpm. That's what a Power Commander is for if you really think it's such a defecit. Correcting that with a Power Commander works fine, but you'll lose gas mileage. Ask anyone that's ever used one. Better route is just an aftermarket exhaust without a Commander, with a K&N air filter. You want more down low grunt just change the sprockets. Cheap and easy to do.

I just bought this bike yesterday and I have to say I am inlove with it, it could be that im little bias but i like to think its a great bike. I have ridden a fz-09 and in my OPINION the s750's smooth engine with the stiffer suspension is not below the FZ-09 class. What I hated about the FZ-09 is that the power delivery right when you open the throttle is so sudden that the inadequate suspension would become so evident. I know so many people that swear on the FZ-09s but the s750 is not outclassed by the FZ-09 and honestly to me the s750 was a better purchase because to improve the suspension on the fz-09 would be about 2k but the biggest problem with the s750 is the out dated brakes and how they felt which you can fix or atleast improve significantly with better pads.

Suzuki is quick to point out that the GSX-S engine is not a de-tuned GSX-R.
Based on the 2005 GSX-R750 engine architecture, the GSX-S powerplant employs unique valve timing and lift, plus reshaped intake and exhaust ports. This, along with 8-hole fine-mist fuel injectors set at a different angle in the dual throttle bodies, results in greater low- and midrange power delivery and a claimed 11 mpg improvement in fuel efficiency.

I hate to give you advice because you are, after all, chase on 2 wheels, but really you should stick to talking about the bikes that you've ridden and not so much about the ones that you haven't. Anyone can guess about what a bike is like to ride that they haven't actually ridden. Stick to talking about the bike that you are actually on, ideally.
I am only watching your videos to see what you think about bikes that I have ridden and reviewed myself, and this really strikes me as funny that we agree in some ways about the same bike and completely disagree in others. How do wide bars reduce your sense of control "wait, that's not the right word....I just don't like it". Wide bars increase your control, narrow clip-ons decrease it, significantly. You're just used to narrow clip-ons. what I would have hoped that you had picked up in comparing the FZ6R and the Gixxfighter is that it has significantly more power even though it has a similar powerband, but without a major hit in handling. Please do not worry about bikes that you have never actually ridden when talking about bikes in your demos.
As far as what bikes are ideal in the twisties, ideal for first-buyers, ideal for starting-riders...those are completely different issues. But I agree the FZ6R is an excellent starter bike while 300s are just too slow even for beginners especially for first-time buyers. The real issue with this bike is whether it is too powerful for a starter bike because it is a good bike but not *that* much faster than a FZ6R or FZ7 (though it has a much better powerband than an FZ7 and far better brakes).
I really think this is an excellent first-bike.
And a bike on which most riders could easily learn to ride.
It is hardly overpowering either in terms of weight or power.
But it is not a supersport. But that is ok. Very few riders really can handle a supersport right off the bat, or even want one. Very few riders need to or even want to pull high lean-angles in the corners on the street and this bike is an excellent complement to the Gixxer 600 and 750 not to mention the Gladius and V-strom and SV650.. even better if it had ABS. I even agree with the whole "nakedness" but it is fine at casual speeds.

From what you said about torque on this bike, it is definitely not competing with the FZ-09 in that aspect. Maybe just because it's a naked upright it could attract some of the market, but if you were to compare the two in power, FZ-09 would crush that thing. You gotta ride it man!

So I need your opinion in GSX-s vs fz-07.
    (My opinion)
    ---------- GSX-s has better:
1)Power(even though you said fz-07 felt more powerful, it can't be, mt-07 just pulls better in low revs)
2)Suspensions-Stability (as far as I know fz-07 has terrible suspensions)
    3)Sound (well 4 cylinder, Duh)
    4)Little better wind protection
5)Smoother engine (4 cylinder again, duh)
    ---------- FZ-07 has better:
1)Agility (It feels more nimble, feels lighter)
    2)Fuel consumption
3)Legs are more naturally clamped on the bike
    4)More torque at low revs
I didn't mention looks because it's esthetics, I like GSX-S more but someone else might like FZ-07 more. I wonder how the brakes are on the GSX-S, I 've heard fz-07 has pretty decent brakes.

This bike seems like a perfect begginer bike for people that want bigger naked bikes with 4cyls ... Thats about all the smoothness (roughness for begginers) you'll ever need... I love Suzuki as a brand personally but I respect chase's review cuz he's just reviewing the bike for himself he's saying how he feels when he rides the bike and basically this bike is not for him judging by his review... But that doesn't mean that this is a bad bike ... I don't get why people eat so much shit when they get butthurt from someone that says otherwise towards their opinions ... Btw this bike was used as a donor bike in the Dredd 2012 movie... That makes it even cooler in my opinion

  • @ndperson1
    @ndperson1 7 років тому

I know you weren't a big fan of this bike, but I got one because of alot of the things you don't like about it. Unlike most other people I wanted a comfy naked sport bike that you chase the revs more. I like it being tame down low. But even with that I would probably of got the new version of this or another one, but I got like the best deal on this so I couldn't pass it up. I got it new for 4999, it is shipping to me right now. I also, like analog tachs for some reason, and I wanted a all around bike. It is a heavy bike due to it's frame though that is for sure. I have usually rode fast cruisers or old CBR 600s when it comes to bigger bikes, so for what I like I think I will like it

    • @ndperson1
      @ndperson1 7 років тому

But yeah if I had more money to spend on my toys I would like a street triple, but sadly where I am it is a huge pain to get service, and the only dealer within 4 hours is a dick it seems according to people's experience. But yeah, for the price I am getting it for and cuz I want a warranty, I really couldn't do better at that price, especially considering I tend to like to personalize my bikes so I do want it to be a fortune to begin with
