Hello, I just discovered your podcast. So much fun and entertaining ! But I realized these are from a year ago. Do you plan on doing more? Love from Oregon
Many Europeans don't do an exchange year in the US as a gap year. Quite the opposite, it's often not their last year of highschool, in Italy for example we go to highschool for 5 years and we graduate at 19, so students can go to the US and then have another year of highschool before graduating. Also, the exchange year in highschool is very expensive, and not many can actually do it unless they are wealthy. Those who choose a gap year before going to unviersity end up backpacking in cheap countries, south-east of Asia is a popular destination, but I feel like most do it when older, not right out of highschool. BTW a doctor entering a room smoking a cigar is NOT normal in Italy!
It was probably pesto. One of the things most commonly used in pesto is pine nuts. I have a nut allergy too, so I understand how serious that can be. The restaurant probably drizzled pesto on the pizza as a finish, and they probably thought Lisa meant peanuts or something. Instead of pine nuts or any other tree nut
