Is there nothing this woman can't sing. No doubt she has some of the best breath control ever but it is the emotion she can also put in a performance that does it for me. One of the best vocalists I have ever heard.
Most of all she can make my smile and enjoy her sound ( and cry a little). What a woman.

Yes, it's definitely the Tomas Albinoni Adagio - his biographer was Giazotto and he composed an arrangement but the Music has always been attributed to Albinoni purely because he wrote it!

Have to say that comment about gospel is exactly why I love hearing musicians, vocal coaches, singers etc. react; You know stuff I don't and so I learn new things, sometimes about music I've heard many times, and that make me appreciate the artist even more!

Shows the reason artists pay good money for professional audio engineering. I thought they did a good job, the vocals are in layers and I believe the music by Tommy Johansson is intentionally that way as well.
Well, the closest to a countrysong that i have heard her sing , is propably on the Beste Zangers

Floor's performance of 'About Love I don't Know A Thing' on the Beste Zangers TV show is considered a 'Country' styled song I think.
I recommend that highly, it was my favourite of hers on that show.

Gospel? The original music was composed by Remo Giazotto and named Adagio in G minor. Adagio means slow in Italian, as it was meant to be played in that manner by a string orchestra as a Neo Baroque piece. Lara Fabian (who happens to also be part Italian) was asked to write lyrics for it in 1999 and the song has been covered by numerous artists. For a real vocal treat watch From Lara With Love 1999 concert in which she performs her song live.
I'm a bass player and sound engineer. My mixes have a tendency to be bass heavy. What you say is true.

Adagio is a classical piece by Albinoni... the lyrics are probably the Laura Fabian contribution...

Great reaction! About your joke of her being an Indianapolis Colts fan, I will clear that up for you. I'm not sure Floor knows the Colts, but what I do know for sure is that Floor is a horse girl, she loves horses, and even owns a pony and a horse, it's her biggest hobby apart from being a singer. So that's what the tatoo is all about. btw. I'm a Dutch Colts fan. Number 18 forever!
Some people has criticized her first cover song, Let it go ( I was one of them). After that they uploaded a remastered version.
In some of her covers the mix is off, but I think in this one it is ok, and after all it's metal, so the music is a little loud.
Adagio is Italian for "slowly". It's a notation used in classical music, along with "Allegro" (fast) etc. I agree with you about the relative volume of the instrumentation vs. her voice. Don't really understand that choice.

BTW If you continue to follow Dimash you'll eventually hit his performance of Adagio from the Singer 2017, where he first broke through in the China. Lara Fabian is one of his idols and he eventually gets to sing with her, as both collaborate with the Russian composer Igor Krutoy.

And her looks!! Please watch her stories from their farm - Floor making fence with a sledgehammer, shoveling horse poop, riding her horse - she is as natural as they comes, believe me - humble, sweet, sweaty and just a nice, intelligent, nature loving woman, mother and wife, with both legs solid planted on the ground.
And yes, she is also very beautiful - almost as beautiful as my wife 😉 - but Floor sings better than my wife - actually better than everybody else in this Galaxy. The Greatest artist in this century.
By the way - I think it is deliberate that Floor's voice is low at start, and then she adds more and more power, to show how the feelings inside her grows and grows, until they fill everything.

Haha, i always said that Lara is like Celine 2.0 when i discovered her 20 years ago. Sadly she wasn't pushed like Celine from the record companies and i had the feeling after 2 records she just vanished again here in germany.

Your absolutely Right with the mix.. She's using dynamics with her voice at the beginning of the song, soft, clear, emotive... The music has to come down.. She shouldn't have to blow that mic off the stand (like towards the end) to be clearly heard over the music..

They have the most expensive mic I've ever seen and they drown her voice behind music. It was even worse with "Let it go", they marginally fixed that with the remastered version.
That is only in the beginning of the song.

This is not really a cover from Fabian and certainly not a "Fabian song"! The peace, music and lyrics, was originally written by Remo Giazotto (1919-1998). This dude claimed the music was based on unfinished work from the renowned composer Albinoni of which he found the partitures after a WW2 bombing in 1945... later it became clear that he (Remo) wrote the intire thing himself and Albinoni had nothing to do with it...😊 The piece has since then been interpreted and performed by many singers (even The Doors recorded an adaptation) and often used as moviescore.

You are SO right. This is the 3rd cover from her where the instrumentals where way too loud. I don't understand why. Such a golden voice needs one of the best professional mixers to do the sound editing. She has her network, she can ask the best studiomixers normally working on the Nightwish albums and live recordings, her husband is the drummer of Sabaton, also he knows people to call to do top of the bill end-editing. It's just a simple matter of sending them the studio instrumental backingtrack, earlier recorded, and the audio channel of her live-voice recording, and mix it all together in the best balance possible. Dam'n. Listen to Lara Fabians original Adagio video, which is mixed perfectly, Lara full on the foreground. Please Floor, listen to your audience, listen to so many professional cover-reactors, they all say the same thing, it is true, this can be done so much better. You deserve it, your voice deserves it, your millions of fans deserve it!
Try Dimash's Adagio too. From Singer 2017 for example.
I, for one, am happy to see Floor moving a little bit away from her "Metal" roots. The older she gets (she just turned 40) the more she matures into a true singer of everything.
I've heard she can't play chess very well.
I've yet to hear a good mix out of the box on Floor's channel - compare Let it Go with her single release. The EQ buries the voice.
