There is an entire group of people that FSD is life changing for. Seniors. Seniors who no longer should be driving can use FSD to continue to live in their homes years longer, Program in doctors offices, kids homes and shopping centers. They can magically add years to there time in their own home. Game changing for seniors.

We got the update for FSD v.12.3 and took a few drives around town for the day with no interventions. It is definitely improving rapidly. It feels more human like too.
I think FSD at Level 3 and 4 at much higher uptake comes way before robotaxi. That by itself could double automotive revenues.

I am an all in Tesla investor with my retirement life savings. I own a 21 Model 3+ and let FSD drive about 97% of the with very low disengagements. I so total believe in Elons vision for the future and his ability with Tesla brilliant team to get us there! All that said, I think we are still a distance from Level 5 or Robotaxi happening. One of the impossible driving scenarios I deal with constantly with 100% failure is when I go to leave my gated community. Every time my Tesla approaches the exit gate, it does not see it! If I dont take over it would run into the gate pole! I report it all the time but it never changes. Even WORSE example is when I try to enter my community gate. When you enter as a resident you go right to the residents gate and wait for it to read your transponder and fully open. Guests either go to the left gate with the guard to check in or have to stop at the dial pad to call the resident to signal you in if it’s after hours. FAIL every time! I dont even know how those 3 scenarios can be solved!!! I am sure there are many others just as complex and seemingly as complex and even more!
Tesla's FSD v12.3 is finally an exponential improvement. Reminds me of the many years it took for computers to master chess at an average level, and how few years after that computers were beating chess Masters. That's the moment we're in. Hope it comes to all of you soon!
They don’t know how to factor FSD into their price targets. It’s never been done before. They will perpetually under estimate FSD revenue implications.
They can’t price robotaxis yet but they can add probable fsd take rates. 30% is conservative. If it’s good almost everyone will want it.

Just got V12.3 two days ago! And yes after putting 30.000 miles in my car, I am impressed with this(very impressed) release. I believe this is major advancement in the March of nines. I had stoped using V 11, but now am excited about my purchase of FSD. WOW!
When are we going to start hearing about the semi again. Are they still making them in low numbers? Would love to hear Tesla announce a delivery van as well.
Been driving it for about 5 hours. Sometimes a little time, sometimes acceleration too much.
But. Huuuuge improvement, drives very “people like”! 🎉

Tesla FSD is much more than software. It runs on the Tesla proprietary CPU which directly controls the steering, brakes, acceleration, navigation, camera vision processing, lights, screen GUI, OTA software updates, etc, etc. Likely would take a complete Tesla hardware+wiring+software suite to make it work for other manufacturers.
❤FSD but as I’m sure you’ll see v12.3 still has challenges. In ATL on my daily drives there are still disengagements. V12.3 is a nice improvement though. Still has to be improved more in order for me to get excited. Ashok Elluswamy mentioned reverse in coming with ASS and Banish so we’ll see how it does on those version.
I personally think there will be customer owned fleet (Model S3XY) that manage all the cleaning and charging and get a cut. Then a purpose built Robotaxis platform from Tesla, which only Tesla manages. This same platform will also be used for "Model 2" and sold to customers.

Hey Yashu, unfortunately we're many years away from Robotaxis. Like you always say, where's the test in a county that is more open to self-driving? When will it be starting the process of getting FSD being approved nationwide? Questions like cleaning, charging etc. that you mention in your video. I think there are still too many unknowns and a too low take rate of FSD right now (numbers are basically flat and Tesla would need to publish FSD subscriptions like sales numbers on a monthly basis with an upward trend to convince analysts).
Sadly i think this might just only be a dead cat bounce...

Could the rally be a run up before earnings hoping to catch some other trader's fomo into the report. Regardless, earnings is gonna be bad.
FSD has always been a When problem, not an IF problem. DARPAs The Grand Challenge: robo driving through the desert challenge went from year after year no one could do it through 2004. Then in 2005 five teams did it. The thing about Tesla, is FSD is doing it differently from everyone else. So there won't be five companies.
If Dojo clinches it, what might that mean if other companies install cameras and use AI? Could Tesla call patent infringement? I don't know. I expect however that Tesla will immediately begin offering to license it to all comers and that will lock out any Reverse Engineering (as happened with the PC).
Government regulation? Maybe in some places. In the U.S. I think all that would need to be demonstrated is that it's safe - just the stats.
Regulation is really the Dan O'Dowd game: sucker governments into regulating and shutting down Tesla leaving the window open for all that expensive Lidar nonsense. I don't think it will fly. Why would the U.S. want to knee cap a game changing technology that would generate Trillions$$ ?

it takes years to wear down those stalwart critics... naysayers and harumphsters even the pewlitical stuff. It's entirely possible the return of the stock will be slow but steady, even sporadically. They may never get credit for real world A.I. but eventually they'll own the space. Partitionstreet probably won't come around until a lot of profit has already come in.

Many drivers still report frequent human interventions with version 12.3, and still many mistakes are being made on the road.
Can you trust FSD with the life of your wife and children? At this point in time, Not a chance.

Hope you're right, but we must remember that these videos showing how "amazing" FSD is, are like highlight reels, where the vast majority of uploaders are very pro-Tesla. There has been massive anecdotal reports and videos of Tesla's driving long routes with no interventions since 2019. Its obviously improving but the near infinite number of edge cases will make the march of 9s incredibly slow, with each successive 9 being as difficult to solve as everything before it, IMO. I don't think its hyperbolic to say that the final percent (going from 99% to 99.99999%) will be 100x harder than from 0 to 99%. I think 2030 is possible for "feature completion," but the govt approval process for FSD/robotaxis could take many more years.

Honestly, about never making FSD a reality, stupid! There is always going to be another dumb teen driver out there. FSD just has to be better that that teen. Once that level is reached, it is just going to keep getting better.
I just took a 210 mile trip (mostly interstate) yesterday, and saw a M3 and a MY. IMO, FSD might not happen for 10-15 more years unless it is LIMITED to certain repetitive trips with LOW RISK. I came thru some heavy construction areas, and I doubt seriously that FSD would have navigated those areas easily. Personally, I think any vehicle with FSD activated should have warning signs front and rear to alert other drivers that value their lives, similar to Student Driver signs (which is basically what FSD is). I have owned TSLA since 2016 but have never thought FSD was a good idea (nor the CT which is a disaster IMO). Not selling my stock even though I have lost about 50% of what I started with. Elon needs to focus on Tesla and drop all those other projects for awhile.
Needs more data. Tesla can buy compute. Can’t buy data needed to be robotaxi ready. That is the bottom line. FSD will forever be stuck in ADAS category.
