What is fun about soil mechanics?? It's all about memorizing formulas and direct substituting... Engineering dynamics and mechanics of materials were fabulous
hey? if we were to calculate the primary consolidation of the dry sand, could it have been we consider depth of foundation (1.5m) plus half the depth of sand layer (3/2=1.5m) summing up to 3m then multiply by density (3x15.7) to get overburden pressure?
Thank you very much. Although I need some clarity. I thought when the 2:1 method is used it gives the average stress (which is half the actual value ) so why don't we multiply by 2 the answer we get for the stress of the surcharge ?
i dont see any videos which provide a theoretical background and some concepts of consolidation settlements for better understanding in your channel and you are just focusing on numerical calculation without providing any concept....very bad initiative....will never recommend watching videos on this channel
Awesome,
I'm somewhere in 🇺🇬 appreciating this. Hats off.
hey fellow ugandan. i feel !!!😅😅
@@verifiedkim yooo bro long time,😅 bruh. Btw fellow OB at BCK not just Ugandan.

@@verifiedkim yes bro,

clay is normally consolidated, you can not use Cc. present pressure is lower than pre-consolidation pressure
preconsolidation pressure is not stated in the problem
Very nice teaching and presentation 🙏🙏
Thank you so much teacher
Thankyou so much for this. How do I work out time taken for primary settlement in order to move on to secondary settlement calcs?
Cc=0.27 and not Cc=0.24 it is a small error ....thank you so much for this lesson
Beautiful presentation, thanks a lot

Yeah, 3/2=1.5 m.

respected mam,
you are pro..
Gracias

Keep it good!
how do you get fundamental of geotechnical engineering 5th edition das and sivakugan(2017) book soft copy
thank you ma'am
you made it very complicated. You can solve this in 10 steps
hi dr. during construction of small scale projects, how do you induce or speed up consolidation to minimize settlement later on?
The process is same for (1:2) ??
Thanks a million mam 🥺🙏🏻
Thank you so much
Thanks mam plzz provided next video
Mam why are we substituting 4(15.82) for average🤔
nice lect
Thank you
Thanks
Tanku
Thankew you help me
More videos, pls
thank you
mam yung 15:42 is L po dapat instead of z?
Yes it is L. Thanks Dave.
thanks po mam.

thats philippine higher education in a nutshell
wrong calculation . the z value is wrong
thank you
Thankyou so much for this. How do I find out the time to complete primary settlement in order to move on to the secondary settlement calcs?
