- Today we picked up our exchange student from the airport. She's so excited to be here in America and the year has only just begun. We host every year and it's always amazing to get to know people from all over the world.
Thanks for being a host family! I’m on exchange with YFU too and i know there weren’t that many families for the US so thanks so much!
Of course, this is fun for us and it's definitely hard to find host families but it shouldn't be! I think everyone should try hosting at least once. It can be a very rewarding experience. :)

@@ektadutt9753 totally! they do great matching families with exchange students and the YFU community is really close! they do really nice trips for orientations throughout the year where all exchange students meet and share their experiences. Ofc it varies from country to country but my experience in Austria was amazing. And i have many friends who went to south america and they had a blast!
After I graduated, we hosted a German boy. Hes still a part of the family to this day, and I'm now 40 and hes 38. So next school season my wife and I will be hosting an exchange student. We have a 14 year old boy, 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl lol! Also 2 dogs, 1 cat, 8 goats and 13 chickens lol

Now I really wish I had contacted you/your family about being my host family when I was an exchange student myself! Not sure if that's even possible but your family always seems to give it all to their exchange students! Students really seem to feel like they're at home :) Loved the video Carter! Please make more vlogs! I always love watching them!

@@itsmarywhat We use YFU they're a non-profit and the families are volunteer-based, stipends aren't granted to host families it's all out of the goodness of everyone's hearts. That's why we like it. :)

Congratulations on a great family. And how lucky are the exchange students who have shared a year with you. I hope our daughter, Alba, finds such a welcoming family for her exchange year. So far no luck and still no placement 😢

I would like to know if exchange students have ever witnessed a crime or someone using a gun in America.... I have lived in the US for most of my 73 years and witnessed one gun incident... And the perpetrator with the gun jumped in his truck and drove off! When people who have never been to the US think of US usually bring up tales of the gun violence in the US! I spent 3 years out of the US and I had about 5 incidents of guns threatening me! And in countries where guns were outlawed!! I think someone is spreading lies!!
