It's heartbreaking to see the beauty and happiness and purity of the music Mac creates, be ended by something as preventable as drug overdose. I just imagine his spirit leaving his body, and him realizing he had accidentally overdosed, and it being a feeling of immense pain and regret. And to think that his intention was hopefully just to check out for just a LITTLE bit. Nothing too crazy, you know, no different than any other of the millions of times he'd used drugs to feel a certain way. Not saying it's "okay" to use drugs and escape. My point is that he didn't WANT this to happen. Escape? Sure. Overdose? Never. And it just hurts man. Can't imagine the pain of those close to him, especially his OG crew and of course his mother. I will say this, his passing has left me with so much gratitude for my own life and the lives of those around me. In a way that I know has completely transformed what's important to me. That just being alive is cause for happiness and joy and feeling like it's worth it. Detaching from the emptiness that sometimes comes from needing to impress people, or succeed materially. Your life was not in vain, Mac. That although the way you passed away doesn't speak of your musical genius, or impact on humanity, that you will be remembered for who you really are in the end by the people who matter most, and that's the people that love you (family, friends, and fans alike). That due to the ripple effect, the course of humanity has a shot of evolving into something beautiful and amazing, and it is in due part to what you did and what you shared with the world. It didn't go the way you planned. But it was more than good enough. The afterlife just got one of the best for their personal band.
I remember when he died, I had also gotten a Xanax laced with that shit and woke up in a Hospital the same day. I didn’t know who Mac was as an artist, thought he was just another white rapper and thought he was son high school ish, but man.. I think in 25 years, he will be bigger than anyone in the 27 club, bigger than even Biggie or Pac. He was not only better than all of them in every aspect, but he made enough music for someone twice his age. This Mixtape is unbelievable, one of the greatest projects I have ever heard and I’m not even a huge hip hop head, I like the music that Mac did, Beatles & Bright Eyes & Sigur Ros & Eternal Sunshine & Radiohead.. But, I had a dream about Mac and he died and immediately was looking down at his body and in disbelief and thought it was a dream and then he realized what happened. It was so intense that I actually used it to start a screenplay I was writing at the time and I immediately went to listen to who Mac Miller was and heard, “Come Back To Earth;” needless to say, I find a new song by Mac every day that blows my mind and for a long ass time, I haven’t heard any music in any genre that sounds remotely interesting or unique or real outside of Manchester Orchestra or a few Phoebe Bridgers songs, she loved Elliott Smith like Mac as well, it’s a sad but inspirational type vibe and super super smart. He was a FN Genius. I hope that this Album blows up all over the charts considering FN Donda and Draie just dominated the Charts and held up to 9 of the Top 10 songs at one time of their latest albums. Both of those albums combined as one is still absolute trash compared to this, every aspect and Mac made it in a room doing everything, not with 50 producers and arena shows and years of having Marilyn Manson and Da Baby standing around doing nothing while a shitty ass song plays. Man.. I would give anything to have known Mac when he was alive, to have known his music, but the loss would be too damn much and it’s nice to have him now and feel like someone truly gets it and that’s what it is, I think any huge fan of Mac is the same type of person. It's heartbreaking to see the beauty and happiness and purity of the music Mac creates, be ended by something as preventable as drug overdose.
I just imagine his spirit leaving his body, and him realizing he had accidentally overdosed, and it being a feeling of immense pain and regret. And to think that his intention was hopefully just to check out for just a LITTLE bit. Nothing too crazy, you know, no different than any other of the millions of times he'd used drugs to feel a certain way.
Not saying it's "okay" to use drugs and escape. My point is that he didn't WANT this to happen. Escape? Sure. Overdose? Never.
And it just hurts man. Can't imagine the pain of those close to him, especially his OG crew and of course his mother.
I will say this, his passing has left me with so much gratitude for my own life and the lives of those around me. In a way that I know has completely transformed what's important to me. That just being alive is cause for happiness and joy and feeling like it's worth it. Detaching from the emptiness that sometimes comes from needing to impress people, or succeed materially.
Your life was not in vain, Mac. That although the way you passed away doesn't speak of your musical genius, or impact on humanity, that you will be remembered for who you really are in the end by the people who matter most, and that's the people that love you (family, friends, and fans alike).
That due to the ripple effect, the course of humanity has a shot of evolving into something beautiful and amazing, and it is in due part to what you did and what you shared with the world.
It didn't go the way you planned. But it was more than good enough.
The afterlife just got one of the best for their personal band.

I remember when he died, I had also gotten a Xanax laced with that shit and woke up in a Hospital the same day. I didn’t know who Mac was as an artist, thought he was just another white rapper and thought he was son high school ish, but man.. I think in 25 years, he will be bigger than anyone in the 27 club, bigger than even Biggie or Pac. He was not only better than all of them in every aspect, but he made enough music for someone twice his age. This Mixtape is unbelievable, one of the greatest projects I have ever heard and I’m not even a huge hip hop head, I like the music that Mac did, Beatles & Bright Eyes & Sigur Ros & Eternal Sunshine & Radiohead.. But, I had a dream about Mac and he died and immediately was looking down at his body and in disbelief and thought it was a dream and then he realized what happened. It was so intense that I actually used it to start a screenplay I was writing at the time and I immediately went to listen to who Mac Miller was and heard, “Come Back To Earth;” needless to say, I find a new song by Mac every day that blows my mind and for a long ass time, I haven’t heard any music in any genre that sounds remotely interesting or unique or real outside of Manchester Orchestra or a few Phoebe Bridgers songs, she loved Elliott Smith like Mac as well, it’s a sad but inspirational type vibe and super super smart. He was a FN Genius. I hope that this Album blows up all over the charts considering FN Donda and Draie just dominated the Charts and held up to 9 of the Top 10 songs at one time of their latest albums. Both of those albums combined as one is still absolute trash compared to this, every aspect and Mac made it in a room doing everything, not with 50 producers and arena shows and years of having Marilyn Manson and Da Baby standing around doing nothing while a shitty ass song plays. Man.. I would give anything to have known Mac when he was alive, to have known his music, but the loss would be too damn much and it’s nice to have him now and feel like someone truly gets it and that’s what it is, I think any huge fan of Mac is the same type of person.
