I sold 2 things on eBay this week for $40 and 0 things on Poshmark. Now I have only one wish: to quit and get rid of 200 items that break my heart every time I enter my closet(((
I basically sell extremely causally now. Noticed the downturn and didn't see the point of having 500+ items that weren't moving. I now have a closet of about 200 items. I maybe sell $500 - $600 a month. It's a bit upsetting as my first year on poshmark I did over 20k in sales on posh Canada alone in 2022. But I look at it this way an extra $500 - $600 a month pretty passively is still something! I'm still so glad I built something that now generates a bit of extra income extremely passively. :) May re-evaluate someday if the economy recovers!
I totally agree. Too much work for things to sit. Feels like losing money month over month. So, I have started to source very strictly and it’s less stressful. If I am able to pay one bill with the extra income, I am winning!

@TabsMcCaffrey If there are 10 cute trendy or good material items I'd be shocked... so when I see them they remain there generally. I do have plus (some was mine I never wore or bought and wore once before changing my lifestyle) and will buy at consignment.. but leave it when I see it at thrifts. Maybe other resellers buy and no judgment here, but based on my personal experience I leave it. ☺️
While I was doing POD, the lowest paying month were summer months. I dont know if this is the case. Or the algorithm is very bed so sellers are kinda forsed to spend money on premium account or how it is called.
I'm always amazed at how much your items sell for. I end up taking such low offers just to get it moving. I use all the style tags but just not seeing sales. Also, my closet is small so i know i will sell less.
Hi Tabs! Great video! I am just wondering if anyone else has had issues with Poshmark prices changing. In the last month or so I had had items sell for way below the price that I listed the item for. It’s not an offer to liker, it’s just a straight sale. I had some pants listed for $60 and got a notification that they sold for $36. I know for a fact I did not price them that low. I am losing money at that price. I tested my theory by going into my closet and updating the prices back to the correct amount, then I went t into the details at the very bottom, where the seller can’t see and put the price there also and sure enough, an item I had just fixed two weeks ago sold and I compared it to the price I had input in the details and it was $30 lower! Have you had any issues like this? I did reach out to Poshmark and they were not helpful at all.
I have a similar but different issue- I noticed items selling (for months now) that I never sent offers on but after doing some digging, I found people are able to purchase items that the offers have expired on, like MONTHS later. I’m fine with it I guess, I offered it before (created a single bundle offer to them, not mass offer) so I’m fine with it selling at that same price later. But it was odd to me that it could happen. But it did say when it sold that they “accepted my offer” & did not show up like a full price sale. That would be crazy to me. Like that can’t be legal. Unless you’re promoting listings & allowing posh to drop prices on your behalf or something.
@@michellemarie1929 I really am stumped. These are not items that I previously sent out offers on. I put my closet on hold till I can figure it out. I can’t afford to list something and have someone purchase it for less than I paid for it. Posh just keeps telling me they don’t change the prices. I feel like it’s some kind of bug in their system. I have 6 pairs of identical leggings that I listed for $30 and when I went in a week later one is showing as $24 and another one is $14 and the rest are still $30? I thought I was losing my mind! I’m starting to put the listed price at the bottom where the sku is so I can check if the price has changed. Even changed my password in case someone hacked me.
I have one row of plus size in all 5 thrift stores near me. Unfortunately it’s all Walmart or unbranded items that simply have a size tag & if you’re lucky, a care tag. If there’s (rarely) a mall brand it’s out of style & worn to bits.
I have a very small eBay business so I usually only sell 1 or 2 things a week but I haven’t sold much the last few months. It’s been very quiet. There also haven’t been many yard sales lately so.
Sales were actually great for me but I upped my listings to 10/day from 7/day for July. I doubled my last year number. For plus sized, I think it probably depends on where you live! If you live somewhere more outdoorsy and active, you’ll probably find less plus sized items in your thrift. My thrift happens to have a ton of plus sized so I try and source that as much as I can. My thrift also has to ship 3 semi loads A WEEK to salt lake of extra clothes they don’t have time to process so I feel zero guilt sourcing. The more I source, the more they can put out. I live in a town of around 40k people. 😩
I have never experienced summer slowdown. Maybe it’s because I live in AZ and summer items are plentiful. I sell sandals swim, kids sneakers and even winter items in July. Athletic wear sells year round.
@@TabsMcCaffrey I spend more time doing research on what’s selling now than I do sourcing. I can find sandals swim and kids shoes for $1-3. I shop the BST sales and yard sales. I also source GW and willing to pay up for items that will sell for over $60.
Hey Tabs! You said you have on auto OTL but then also send out offers Friday and Sunday. Can I ask a couple Q’s about this that still trip me up! First - do you send these offers to all likes from the past week then? Second - PM limits us to 2 offers without a response from buyer. So after your OTL and then bundle offer, how do you send a third offer? This drives me crazy. I wish PM gave us 3 shots at offers. Or started fresh with each new item liked.
Tabs you really help me a lot I think my sourcing has definitely improved from the start. We have a couple nice stores in our town, one that carries lots of free people stuff and one that has Sympli. Sympli is so expensive! And very plain styles but classic and high quality. I did buy a joseph ribkoff dress from that store for my sons wedding. Worn once and had to give it a way for 40. Oh well. Ebay doesnt work for me except for a camera that went well. I put a bunch of clothes up and no has even viewed them. I may just delete them. Still considering posh us but not sure whether i would just drive to the border to mail. Stallion is 2.5 hours away i. Toronto. Border is an hour. I need more research on this. This is just a side gig to add a little to my pension so i dont know how much time to put into it especially because i will spend 3 months away in the winter.
Wise does not open Canadian US account anymore. I went to open the account. And it worked but I was put on a waiting list and when I called in, they said it has been on pause for months. Also the link for the tape gun isnt working :(
She hit up an estate sale with hundreds of new shoes, bags and jewelry. She also sells furniture locally and hard goods on Charish, a high end site. The majority of her $ didn’t come from Poshmark.
I agree and also wonder what was she doing g last year? Was she just starting out. Has she improved her sourcing. Changed up her items. So many factors when comparing data.
I am not a reseller but I am wondering if a factor is that so many people are now into poshmark ebay and reselling or on fb marketplace that its affecting everyone's sales plus the fact of inflation all people who would br buying are cutting back because just living is so costly like another poster said
For me as a pretty much buyer only (I’ve only sold 2 personal items) it’s the shipping. It’s way too much. I don’t want to bundle and spend more on things I really don’t want (but talk myself into) in order to save on shipping. Also I wish more seller would bundle within 1 posting for lower priced items. For example, sell 3 -7$ dresses for $21.

Oh darn
Wow where do you get your inventory?
Thrift shop, but sell trades and consignment stores.
I have a very small eBay business so I usually only sell 1 or 2 things a week but I haven’t sold much the last few months. It’s been very quiet. There also haven’t been many yard sales lately so.
Yes I think retail is down in North America. This economy is tough….
It really has I made four sales in July and three sales so far this month.
Ohhh man. This is the slowest summer I’ve experienced in 4 years
@@TabsMcCaffrey doing pop-up events have been saving me during this summer drought
Thank you for sharing all of this!!❤️
I have never experienced summer slowdown. Maybe it’s because I live in AZ and summer items are plentiful. I sell sandals swim, kids sneakers and even winter items in July. Athletic wear sells year round.
Thank is awesome! And you probably have access to high quality items. I do think that’s a really good sourcing perk! And inspiring ❤️
@@TabsMcCaffrey I spend more time doing research on what’s selling now than I do sourcing. I can find sandals swim and kids shoes for $1-3. I shop the BST sales and yard sales. I also source GW and willing to pay up for items that will sell for over $60.
Great video Tabs!! ❤
Thank you Lisa!
BTW: I freaking Love love love your HAIR! XO
Thank ypu!!!🥰❤️
Wowza..looking great!
🥰🥰
Your hair looks awesome with the volume! 😃👌🏻
Thank you, takes a bit of getting used to!
Yep 20% all the time for automation. Then Friday, 30%, Sunday 30-40 depending on how sales have been that wk
If they do t respond to 2, oh well. Move on. I dont fret about what ifs…
@@TabsMcCaffrey thanks for the reply :)
Tabs you really help me a lot
I think my sourcing has definitely improved from the start.
Ohh I hear you. Thats some good sourcing! And yes you have to do what’s best for you❤️
Wise does not open Canadian US account anymore. I went to open the account. And it worked but I was put on a waiting list and when I called in, they said it has been on pause for months.
Also the link for the tape gun isnt working :(
Wow, that's interesting. I had no idea about the Wise change! Thanks for letting me know!
Perimenopause buddy ! Courage !!
❤️❤️
I love your hair!
Thank you!
Do you also offer reduced shipping on your PS automated offers?
Yes first teir
I wonder if it depends on location? One reseller I follow doubled her July sales from last year. She called it the summer of sales and accepted offers
She is the exception to the rule not the norm. Sometimes it’s just a lucky month
One row of plus size shirts and like 4 rows other sizes in ours
That’s not too bad
Was the app cap cut?? Or …. Thank you in advance.
Yes, sorry I put the link in the description
Great finds.
Thanks!
I am not a reseller but I am wondering if a factor is that so many people are now into poshmark ebay and reselling or on fb marketplace that its affecting everyone's sales plus the fact of inflation all people who would br buying are cutting back because just living is so costly like another poster said
I think there are many reasons and those could play a factor. But I would say economy and summer are the 2 main ones.
That makes sense.
Preach sister! Perimenopause is kicking my butt. I just met with a naturopath to get my hormones checked because I am a crying, raging, emotional mes and my kids think I am looney tunes. LOL
I feel so much better hearing other women share their experiences!! Seriously thank you ❤️
How do I join the group reading?
findingspiritwithtabs.as.me/SeptGroupReading
Did you mean joy or joie for that top that sold for $46. In the case of the latter, it's pronounced like "Jwah"
Haha yes the latter! Thank you 😂
You look beautiful Tabs
🥰thank you, I’m feeling sooo much better. You sometimes do t realize you’re not ok… until you start feeling ok❤️ minus the menopause 🤪
Love your hair
Thank you 🥰🥰
I can relate to the crying! I’m about to turn 40, and it seems like I cry at the drop of a hat these days. I was always the person who didn’t show enough emotion at times! Very stoic. But man these hormones are real!
Girlllll I def have emotions but usually only cry with big events, or animals die in movies😂
How do you run your offers??
Exactly like I said. I’m not sure I get your question.
I made less then 80 dollars all week. Would have been 36.00 more if I didn't have a case opened against me and have someone wanting to return a purse. Good thing i live with family rent free, this is so ridiculous.
Times are tough for buyers and sellers. You either hang on or get out at this point.
@@TabsMcCaffrey I'm hanging on because I just started reselling in June. I've been selling my own clothes online since the beginning of the Pandemic but I'm unable to work a normal job due to health issues so I have to bulid some kind of business so I'm able to move out again and be able to take care of myself..
You sound like me when I was Pregnant 10 months ago LOL. I am 39 and I do not want to deal with these hormone issues again :(
Sales are the worst I have ever had since 2016. Im making maybe 1-2 sales $10 or less :( Those buyers have no idea how thankful I am for their purchase but as a business perspective Im worried it wont pick up or what am I doing wrong.
Yes sales are the worst I’ve seen in my time…
What are your returns percentage for the last month or two months? Tabs, don't forget that the stock market crashed as that affects a lot of buyers from regular every day online shopping. I've lost over $2,000+ (Canadian) in my portfolio in just the last 3 days. I hope this helps you to know that it's not you. The markets and the world in general is not in good shape right now. People are becoming a very cautious with their spending right now. Keep well and thanks for the updated video!😄👍
Actually my returns have been higher than normal. Less than 1%. Yes I completely agree with everything you say!
Tabs you look so HOT! 🤣🫶🏻Your hair looks so voluminous I love it, it looks stunning on you!
Awww thank you! I’m trying new stuff. Stepping out of my comfort zone. Feeling a lot better mentally ❤️✨
L❤VE L❤VE Your Hair!
Awww thank you! Takes some getting used to😂🫣
The mediumship reading was something I didn't know that I needed. Thank you again!
Jamie❤️ I think of you and your dad often✨
Hi babe, it is good to see you. I miss your videos. I have been watching a lot of live. Shows where items are starting off at five dollars. The sellers all have access to the bins. I’ve been getting oh my gosh Free People lululemon just some really great pieces at prices and it has gotten addictive. I donate a ton. I donated nine garbage bags will close to Salvation Army. I have two big bags of dresses and I’m also going to donate, my blueberry he should be home next week oh, in the perimenopause I have to make an appointment with my doctor. I hear you I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’ve always been like this. I watched that movie cocoon my friend and I went and I was crying hysterically my friend was laughing at me, so for me to get emotional is pretty normal but I’ve been missing my girls too left for college the same thing and I would just start thinking about her and start crying, but my daughter lives only three hours away from me. This is going to become like a novel if I don’t stop babbling, I need to catch one of your shows, I promise I will try and pop in on one, but I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. I am going to try and enjoy the rest of mine and send you lots of love and good energy.😊❤️
It’s so nice to hear from you Kelly! I hear ya!! I feel like we are all going through the same perimenopause shite!!😂
LOVE SEEING YOU HONEY. AND LOVE THAT YOUR LIVING LIFE LOVE YOUR HAIR ❤
Cindy!! Thank you, miss you guys!!
Your hair looks great. Stop patting it down, lol. I thought it was some new vitamins you were taking😅
lol, thank you. Yes I have to get used to it. I bought this blow dryer brush wand thing to blow dry and straighten and vavavoom volume 😂
