@@AQUAHOLIC - excellent. I look forward to those (along with all your vids). I have been hankering after an Azimut Magellano 53 ever since your tour! 🙂
Hi Nick. Loving all the clever details this small trawler has. As you say, well thought out. Grab rails are always a must. Got any larger trawlers to view? I remember you did show one, with that pestering steam train 🚂 tooting at inappropriate times, but my concentration was on that trawler. Anyway, again nice vlog, see yer again. 😊
This boat is right up my alley. I could easily put 3 adult children, the wife and I on this boat. Its just as much about the journey as the destination with this style.
The galley on this boat is absolutely perfect. I am a classically trained chef, and I would easily be able to serve six from that galley. What a brilliant layout, while remaining conscious of space constraints.
This was a fun one. I feel your enthusiasm really does the yacht justice when you go over all the little details. Hope the engineer appreciates it as much as we do!
One of my favorite boats on your channel. It is such a well thought out family boat. Although "within reach" is still an overstatement for most people, it is an owner's boat.
Absolutely love your tours. You seem to answer all the questions an interested boater would ask, good show. These swift trawlers are something I'm very interested in as I've been a sailor most of my life and presently sail a Catalina 400, but at age 76, it's getting to be a bit of a workout to trim a large Genoa in a stiff breeze with manual winches, so a move to a trawler might make life a bit easier. Since I'm used to sailing, the slower speeds are of no consequence and in fact 10 knots is way faster than I'm accustomed to. My main sailing ethos is relatively short cruises to California's channel islands and local coastal cruising like a 2-8 day trip to local coastal spots, or Catalina Island with most trips less than 50 nautical miles, so a slow passage is fine by me, I love the boating as much as the destinations. Keep these great tours coming, they're both entertaining and informative. Thanks Nick!
In total agreement Harry, the older my wife and I get the more attractive a trawler style boat is. Slow and steady and in maximum comfort beats flash and speed any day.
…I know this is a very shallow comment in light of the entirety of this boat, but one feature here is so exceptional to me, it is the curtain around the upper deck / drop down table into a sleeping bed area... it's always grateful to have some privacy while sleeping!! ...this simple thing (curtains around the potential accommodation) is NOT offered in any boat but this one that I've seen so far... This is so simple and so exceptional!! It's the little things - attention to detail - that attract people to purchase!!
"Pocket Rocket" = small boat HUGE engine. NO. "Pocket Yacht" = small boat HUGE design. YES. The other item of note, was another Nick Burnham quote - "...designed by people who actually go boating." YES ! This is what the boating / pleasure yachting world has been missing - boats designed through the experience of pleasure boating. Thanks, Beneteau and crew, for what you do. And THANK YOU too, Nick for traipsing around, gear in tow, just so you can bring us such a wonderful show. Way to go...
Love the light colored wood. This could be a family operated boat. I love a Trawler. It’s my favorite build. A remote control would be nice. Love to spend time on that baby. Pal you do such a good job showing the boats.
I think this is a great size for a trawler style, I could see myself trundling up and down the coast in this! Also, can I just mention that we have had an upload on your channel every 2-4 days! Brilliant Nick!
Love the magic magnetic doors in the cabins. And the little ornamental anchors in the master cabin are a good touch, they could possibly serve as a helpful reminder to (if there are any) the absent-minded yachter.
I always fall for the looks of the luxury yachts but these trawler style boats always charm my boating bones. Great work, lovely Beneteau, you make them even more attractive.
As much as I love this boat and would love to own one, it seems that the jump from the ST35 to the ST41 brings in the introduction of the twin engine configuration. Being able to cover large distances at displacements speeds would be something that is very important to me so the transition from a single engine to twin engine would be a significant increase in the running cots of the boat. I was born and raised in the south coat of England (Portsmouth) so no stranger to the water but I am now living in Limerick, Ireland on the river Shannon. Easy access to the west coat of Ireland is a real incentive for us but these waters are no joke. Still, we can all dream. Great video as always Nick. Thanks.
Another very smart smaller boat. Seriously functional with very reasonable comfort. Yes, a gen set & forward seating and a fly BBQ would be nice extras. Oh and the TV !
Perfect for me and my boy Great layout with the galley where it should be to serve both in and out doors I've looked at many many boats much more expensive and this is just perfect for me
My absolute favourite boats, the ST line. Also, as you enter the starboard side-deck from the cockpit, there is a door you can close, so the people in the cockpit are shielded from wind and spray while underway.
I kept waiting for something that I wouldn't like, but then we got to the end and there wasn't anything. If I had a half million dollars to spend on a boat, this would most definitely be it. To be honest, if I had a million to spend on a boat, I'd still get this, and then use the rest to retire a bit earlier and enjoy the boat more. Absolutely excellent! Thanks for the tour, Nick!
Hi Nick. Whenever you say little ship i know its going to be good. Clever use of magnets on the doors. Small enough to handle and plenty of room for 6-8 people. Great walkthrough tour as always. Thanks.
Not normally a fan of trawler style boats but after casting my eyes over a Swift at my local marina recently and this video i am impressed, keep up the good work Nick
I lived in Foug, France and we had a canal near our home and a tunnel through the hillside. I can understand why you couldn’t cruise the canals if you had a bridge deck. Here in the US, we have what is called the Great Loop, again, a bridge deck boat might cause issues, as you are traveling through canals and some bridges. When I lived in France, a sailboat from the US, was waiting at a lock. They had an American flag, we ran to the boat shouting “hello”, they thought we were French kids and replied “bon jour”. We then told them we were Americans and they invited us onboard, to go through the next lock and tour their boat. They had sailed from Los Angeles, through the Panama Canal, up the east coast and then across the Atlantic. They were then touring Europe, using the canals and rivers. I always thought that would be a great way to see Europe or the US, a boat like this without the bridge deck would do well through Europe or the Great Loop.
You could do the Loop on this one with a caveat: you couldn't go through the downtown Chicago portion (17' bridge clearance) or the WESTERN Erie Canal (15'6" clearance). Actually the Swift Trawler 44 would be better, the mast on it can fold down giving you an air-draft of under 13'.
I think this yacht makes the best use of all its space, more than any other yatch of this size. I like it! (And I like the bow seat in front of the winch) ("bin bags", lol)
This is a boat I have never seen before it is a boat I would consider in a few year’s for relaxation when I have the time on my hands. Splendid review; thank you. Paul
I would guess a water maker is optional,as you explained some folk might go faster but if you are away for a while the water maker would be a great addition to have and maybe another fridge and generator. Good design all round.
Just love these Swift Trawlers. What a lovely boat full of real-life features. Bang-for-Buck one of the best boats you can buy, a true retirement plan. Sell the house, have a small apatment for the winter and spend the summer on the boat. Thank you for the video, Nick. Keep 'em coming. I prefer having access to the engines from inside the vessel. You always seem to need to work on them in bad weather and this just makes it easier. I have not mentioned how impressive it is in how elegantly you show your sponsors Mr. Burnham! They are present yet not obtrusive. This allows those who can use their services access to their information whilst not interfering with the ability of the viewer to enjoy your content. Very classy indeed!

Perfect live-aboard...generato and a chest freezer arer a must and I would put some satellite phone and TV domes on it if I were going to stay on it for a summer out on the water. There's much less of a chance of losing communication with your engines with gauges tied by physical means as opposed to flat screens, sensors and microchips...better redundancy. A very smart long range cruiser,

Beneteau packed in a lot onto this boat and packed it in very well. Hopefully you can get aboard a ST50 for a lookaround as that is really the size you want if you are spending a couple of months on board. Well done Nick and Maggie.
