    FYI: For anyone looking, Bose QC25s are available for around $40. They work excellent. I have tried QC45s too. Here's the thing, if you're concerned about them not being bluetooth, Bose bluetooth is like any other bluetooth. Its terrible. you get bad audio compared to a cable. So I own an excellent bluetooth headphone amp/dac. Its a tiny device that connects to the headphone band with a short cable to the input jack. Its the only bluetooth connection I've tried that sounds BETTER than a cable, because of the app it comes with and the audio controls. It also has a mic for ambient sound, and a seperate volume control if you want complete control over ambient levels or none at all. I use it for headphones, bluetooth speakers and in my car. So don't pay extra for a "new" Bose headphone set. Buy older Bose headphones and use a quality bluetooth connection. (or use a cable in an aircraft headset) and enjoy low price and superior sound!

    It would be great to see a teardown of the Bose A20 noise cancelling aviation headsets to see how they work and are assembled.

      It was so expensive I’m afraid to touch it honestly haha.

    Great work! How has this held up? Have you made anymore modifications?

    I have a Bose 700, can i buy a adapter to use it to Piper Warrior (Fixed Wing) plane. I guess Piper warrior required PJ-055 and PJ-068.

    That's cool, really cool!
    Have you done other aviation DIYs? Like Arduino-based flight computer or attitude indicator, ...

      @r_v_t 2 роки тому

      You can use stratux for attitude indicators(and more)

    May try to order it from Aliexpress => aviation headset for pilots ? Have standard post-sales service with "ready-made-product" look & cost-effective items (about USD $50 per unit) for passenger-usage ?

    Nice video. I want to do this but wondering how it works when the jack in the plane (and plug on my David Clark Set) is mono?

    • @Viera95
      @Viera95  2 роки тому

      Thanks Richard. Everything would work the same but You would need a 1/4 Mono to 3.5mm Stereo Adapter. You can by one on Amazon.
      All the adapter does is short the Right and left positive leads for the headphone speakers together.

    Have you tried using them as pilot in command? Everything still work with push to talk?

      No unfortunately, I have only given the headset to passengers. I figure since the microphone sounds loud and clear on the intercom it should work over the radio as well.

    Aren't you supposed to match the impedance and whatnot, though?

    Hi, this is an old video but i'm wondering if it safe to plug a low impedance headset on a high impedance radio, either for the headsets or the aircrafts radio? Can this setup affect negatively the headsets or the radio, i.e damaged one of two?
    I have the headset and i'm thinking to do the same. Thank you

      I’ve only used this headset on a G1000 audio panel and have never had any issues.
      It might not be exactly the same but I know from being a sound guy that you can run low or high impedance speakers on an amplifier no problem. The problems can arise if you mix them together, For example if you had one 2ohm speaker and the others are 8ohm.

    Cool build. Have you tried it out? Looking to do something similar. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching, yes my mom used it during a two hour flight in a Diamond DA40 she said it was way better then the rental headset she usually uses. Both in less wind/engine noise and a much more comfortable fit. The sound quality from the microphone also sounded good on my end.
      I did improve the headset a bit from what was seen in the video and used shrink tube to hold the wires together. It looks pretty nice now.

      @@Viera95 That's great -- I would be cool to see a follow up video on any improvements you've made. I just ordered the mic and a few other pieces to make this. I have an idea to better attach to the headphones but we'll have to see if that works out.

      Can you tell me where you got the inline volume control and the other adapter you used?

      @@dennis9072 here is the links for the audio adapters.
      Amazon Basics Gold Plated 6.35mm 1/4 Male to 3.5mm 1/8 Female Stereo Headphone Adapter - 2-Pack www.amazon.com/dp/B087KG4C1H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_6m5dGb2J8EARG

      The volume control is kinda fragile so I’m still looking for a higher quality one but this is the one I used in the video. Hope this info helps.
