If you are interested in purchasing some Pinterest-worthy rain boots, Hunter boots are the way to go! Before you purchase them, though, watch my quick hunter boots review video, where I talk about the size, the fit and where to buy Hunter boots with a discount.
My Hunter Boots are the original, tall, glossy rain boots with a 16” calf diameter and a size 9. The color of my boots is called: “Brick Red”, I’ll get to the in a second. I purchased my Hunter boots while in college. In them, I walked to internships, dates, and classes, often in the cold, snowy or rainy Boston weather.
The perfect fit for rain boots is a little different than normal shoes. Rain boots, including Hunter rain boots, should be half a size (or so) bigger, so that you can wear thick socks with them. However, you do not need to purchase your Hunter boots in a bigger size. Instead, get your normal shoe size and they should fit you such that you can wear thick socks with them. In other words, they are already sized to include that little extra “sock” space in them. If you are in between sizes, kind of like me, get the bigger one of the two.
My boots are the “Brick Red” color, which is not one of their core “popular” colors like black or the original red. I think it’s a beautiful color, but I guess it wasn’t selling well. So, these boots ended up with a hefty sale tag on 6pm.com and I came across them at the right time and snatched them up. So, as I’ve said in my hunter boots review video, the moral of the story is that if you don’t mind getting a less popular color, you can save yourself a whole bunch of money. 6pm.com is one of the sites that has some great deals on shoes, including Hunter boots. I’ve used it for years. The only downside is that they don’t have free returns, but they do sometimes offer free shipping, and always great prices. Your size “9” fit when you wear thick socks, so it’s bigger than your original size. What do you do when you wear your Wellington boots within a normal socks? Because I’m sure it would be uncomfortable and uneasy to walk in.

I'm a size 9 and I got a size 9 Hunter Boots. They are a bit big but I think it's done on purpose so you can wear thicker socks with them. I personally like that, but if you want them to fit you snug, then ordering half a size down might work better. Personally, I would order your true size though, because when winter comes, you'll be reaching for thicker socks! 💕😊
Get the adjustable backs if you have thicker calves.

I have a question for you. As a guy, I LOVE gloss Hunter boots (I see no problem with that), Usually, I'm seen wearing them with my jeans tucked in the boots. I often spend more than what I want to, try to find them for really good quality on ebay (for my size) and get no where in my search.
I'm a size 10 or 11 and love the tall original gloss colors. It hard to find Hunters in that size in colors I want, unless I'm willing to pay $150 for them. So, if I want to find a really good quality pair of Hunters in a size 10 or 11, where would you recommend going? Would you still try 6pm.com and Nordstrom rack? I hope to hear from you soon.
Yes, I would check those sames websites out, but you have to be patient because they don't always have a lot of size/color options. But if you want the discount, that's probably your best bet! :)

I think wearing pants with hunter boots is the traditional way of doing things but there is no reason why you can't change things up! If you are going to wear shorts, I feel like shorter hunter boots would look better. Just a hunch. :)
I wrote to you a few months ago about Hunter boots. Since you wear them, I feel I can ask you this question. Back in WWII, men used to wear Hunter boots all the time in trenches to protect their feet from heavy mud and water flow. So, why don't guys wear Hunter's (rain boots) today, where girls wear them all the time? Do guys see them as an accessory or more as a fashion item?
Hm, that's a great question... You're right, Hunter boots are actually really practical but I think most people wear them not only because of that but also because they are "in". I know that myself, I purchased hunter boots because they are trendy. They are not as trendy for guys (yet) as they are for girls. But you know what? Why don't you start a trend?! :)
You know, I really thought about that. I've been waiting for cooler or rainy weather so I can wear them (I have the tall gloss in: military red, black, hunter green and thundercloud). Of course you can wear these boots (or any other kind of rain boots)! And as far as the colors are concerned something like black, dark blue or green would look really nice in my opinion.

I think all the glossy Hunters are gorgeous but the red are by far the hottest.

It’s possible but they are a little more restricting than other footwear.

I would send you a message on Facebook, but I wanted to contact you here, in reference to Hunter boots. I just recently got a new pair of black all gloss Hunters and want to wear comfy socks with them; I see girls wearing both a lot and really want to do the same. I know I can wear both (because I have the confidence to do so), but would it look a little strange for me to pull it off? I ask this since I'm a little timid of pulling off something very bold and eye catching (from a male stand point).
Lucky you! I want a pair of black hunter boots haha. I think that you can totally pull off hunter boots and socks, as long as you are comfortable wearing that. There is nothing girly about that in my opinion. 😊
