I look at it like this; I'm pretty sure that 99% of people out there would consider Ruby a better overall lyricist than $crim. I fuck with $crim, pause, more than Ruby. I think it has to do with the family problems he is open about, and the fact a lot of his lyrics that involve family/trauma/feelings/worthless/needing love hit home. For instance on Night Gallery from Lonely Boy I can't make it through that song without crying at least once EVERY TIME!
And on Burgundy...

Even though they passed long ago, that line is so helpful today.

Facts! To me they both are solid lyrically. Ruby does have some lines that hit a little harder from time to time though. I had Lonely Boy on repeat for like a month straight so $crim was on another level with that project to me. Stop Staring At The Shadows was super 🔥 also!
