In this video Mike, Blue, and myself take a last minute ride up HWY 1 to a campsite in Jenner!
We were racing the sunset the first day, got to the campsite just in time to setup before dark, then rode back to SF for mine, Blue's, and Mikes birthdays!

Nice ride. My first Harley was a 1982 FXE Shovel I got new from Jones HD in Little Rock. Got married on it, we rode it to NYC and back. Put 80,000 miles on that bike in three years. Stroked it to 93" and dropped it into a 1951 wishbone. Rode it 950 miles in one day from Brooklyn to Rome, GA, then the return trip two days later. Put it back in the swingarm and rode to Daytona a couple of years later. People who bad rap these bikes as troubleheads will pussy out and give up long before the bike does. The late Shovels were as good as any Evo.These days I have a stock 1982 FXB Sturgis, as well as a chopped 82 FXB. Also a 1969 XLCH and a 73 XLH. The magneto CH is the most badassed motorcycle ever offered to the public--- it can cripple its rider before it is even started. You better straddle kick that thing or it'll blow your knee out when the gears slip. New HDs don't interest me. Don't care for anything post-'86 after Harley got rid of the factory kickstarter along with 60 years of parts interchangeability between the 36-86 BTs. Sometimes the mishaps make for the most memorable trips. Not fun while they happen, but at least you don't die, and you have something to talk about later on. My new-to-me shovel is still teaching me stuff.
I've been pretty motivated to make the switch to a old harley from Japanese bikes, could you guys go a video on what parts and tools do you guys take with you on these long rides?
@@Rob-lj1jl I get that lol but if you go through them completely and not just enough to ride them, they're less prone to breaking down 😂 I just figured mazi would know the ins and outs of most different harley motors

I've been riding for 56 yrs and spent time on bikes like you have discovered. Shovels, Pans, Sportsters, Triumphs, BSA's, etc. Great to see young guys keeping the old scooters on the road. Have fun and ride safe.

I lived in London for 20 years and the last few years I lived there I got Hayfever, I think it must have been pollution, Birmingham is better!

My family, would rent a place for couple of weeks along the Russian River, back in the 1950’s. Rio Nido was hopping back then. It was where the rock n rollers hung out at night.

A motorcycle trip along the scenic Pacific Highway 1, hugging the Pacific Ocean, is always a welcome experience! Shame it didn't end with views of the trip over the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge! Looking forward to some more ride-outs! Take care, all!....😀....😀....!
