For a Russian, this Pelafeya's performance is a triple treat. First, the music is a masterpiece by Alexander Morozov (probably the best Russian composer to write stylized folk-like songs). Second, the lyrics is a famous poem by the great Nikolai Roubtsov. Finally, it's performed by the all-Russia sweatheart from Siberia, Pelageya. Yes, there are not many can compare to one of Russia`s most beloved singers. Pelageya was 18yrs at the time, but already an accomplished artist, having sung on stage since early childhood.
