Yeah I don’t know what that means, it SHOULD mean that. That’s what it meant for Burgertime. But I don’t get a retailer having it up before they actually do. It’s another weird first.
you need to do a video how arcade1up sold a new version of nba jam less than 2 months after the first release... new version has light up buttons and marquee topper. light up marquee only $399.... now thats some shannighans
Wow, I honestly wasn’t aware of that! That’s so on-brand for them too. I think they did something similar on MK too, offering a lightup model for the same money and none of this stuff has really been out long in the scheme of things. That’s a good point you brought up.
It was definitely a gamble given the issues in the past. But Sega is my weakness. And a deal on a real Golden Ax cab fell through right before U.S. preorders went live. So I did end up buying one at $449. And it was ok. But with prices hitting $700-900 on new units coming out, I’m definitely done buying 1Ups.
Mur, they seem to have the what I refer to as the "GM business model": introduce multiple vehicles which are very close in features to the point the average consumer has difficulty discerning the differences but the prices can be quite a bit more depending on the brand/line involved...This is an oversimplification, but I think one can get my general idea. Many businesses think this approach is good in the short term, but it harms the brand respect in the long run in my estimation.
Very well put, I like that. And they have done just that. We’ve seen multiple cabs re released with marquee lights and we’re seeing variants on the games included on certain models as exclusives to weird retailers and the list goes on. Weirder’n a 3 balled cat.
Oh, Im all for selling it wherever. But the site preorder should come first. AND, we know even if it does, they fill the retailer shelves first and honor preorders later. It’s happened twice already.
I was wondering what happened to that video lol. I commented on madlittlepixel about that Neo Geo cabinet - at what point do you just build a custom cabinet? The whole reason these 1up cabs were awesome is because they were relatively expensive.
Exactly. I got a dude 40 minutes north of here that’ll build you a multicade with all the trimmings for $675. Is that $450? No. But if space is an issue and you want a dookton of games, then you go that route, right?
Yeah these get dubbed as space savers but the reality is, they still take up plenty of space. They’re not as tall as real cabs but once on the riser, as far as floor space, what are you really saving? A foot?
I bought one and they're complete crap...and that was the old ones for 300! Garbage graphics, garbage sound, and if you edit the options then you can accidentally brick the game. Removed the monitor and installed a computer and monitor running mame. Best thing to do with these pieces of crap.
Yes.. it seems these companies are always trying to create some hype. The problem is the most of the time it works.. and a lot of people get tricked. 😕 Ps: I want to see that garage-arcade!!! 🤘
Same here, buddy. And before it dropped for Genesis, I lived on that machine in the arcades. The lore of Golden Axe has always fascinated me. And play Golden Axe Beast Rider on PS3/360 if you haven’t. Big tubers talk crap about it but they’re just repeating what they hear, as usual. It actually pretty great!
Arcade1up has some issues for sure brother! Customer service is absolutely terrible then you have this lol! I would think this would hurt sales down the road! People at 1up are pretty arrogant jerks too
The vague, snarky social media posts don’t help their look either. They’ve made all the issues I’ve had right but it took a lot of stayin on em, long holds and multiple emails. But the kooky retail happenings is its own issue and one I’m surprised still exists.
I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy that says "shenanigans"! Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy stuff on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
Shenanigans! Total BS,these things should be cheaper right now just due to the state of the world. It feels to me less things that are unnecessary are not really being bought out.not trying to be a downer,it’s just a no job no money thing. Great for people who have the cash, maybe they will price drop for the holidays.
Hey, it’s very true. We went through a rough couple of months just now because of things. And I’m not game hunting like I would normally be so that’s even more money I’m not pulling in. I’ll be interested to see what they do for the holidays this year. It’s going to be a very different scenario come Black Friday in 2020.
Its a big ticket, no doubt. And the people collecting all of these, not that its my business, but they’re in it super deep. And could be building a real arcade with the same money.

Wow, I honestly wasn’t aware of that! That’s so on-brand for them too. I think they did something similar on MK too, offering a lightup model for the same money and none of this stuff has really been out long in the scheme of things. That’s a good point you brought up.
That's the ArcadeFup way of screwing the early adopters. Classic 👍
550 $ for something that probably will not work out of the box nah!
The Brick is a well known Canadian furniture store. COME ON MUR, OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE OTHER STORES! Shenanigans(x10)!!!
I would like to own a couple of these, however I have no room for them 😭
Yeah these get dubbed as space savers but the reality is, they still take up plenty of space.
They are flushing out price points for tiered pricing.
Yes.. it seems these companies are always trying to create some hype.
The problem is the most of the time it works.. and a lot of people get tricked. 😕
Ps: I want to see that garage-arcade!!! 🤘
It’s comin along. You can watch the videos in that playlist to see some of my machines so far!
Use to love Golden axe had it for Sega all 3 of them..
I feel sorry for everyone who has to deal with there customer service it is extremely painful. I still have 4 tickets unresolved since February 2020
Still too much anyway. Their cabs started at $300. Now that they're somewhat successful, they're charging it up.
Its a big ticket, no doubt. And the people collecting all of these, not that its my business, but they’re in it super deep. And could be building a real arcade with the same money.
The quality has really stepped up since first release
@@derrikadams3375 I don't think so it's still an ArcadeFup 👎. There are still many problems.

I've got 10 of these and yes the quality has stepped up. I've only had a couple of problems and had them resolved from the company in under a week. I'm very satisfied with arcade1up and tastemakers.
@@derrikadams3375Good for you 👍 Your one of the very few "lucky ones" I guess. I own 6 and 3 are now waiting over 5 months for parts. There's a reason they have an F rating on the BBB
Holy cow
😇 🐄
The only one I was ever interested in was the FINAL FIGHT one. I still am. I had it in my hands once and ddnt even get it. Well... if I see it again at a lower price then maybe I'll get it, but I really dont much care for these things at all.
The Final Fight unit was a nice one. 4 solid games on it. It’s the only one I had zero problems with quality wise. But I did have to jump through hoops to get it.
