Thanks man ,I was having a hard time choosing between the RHG20 any RHG30 now I know . rival is really a brand that makes product with users in mind ,and its affordable ,simply great. keep up with the good work.
Ive been using this headgear for a cpl Years now and find it very good. My vision isnt compromised and the lightness means you sometimes forget its even on. Im not a pro boxer but of all the headgear Ive used ,for the price, this is the one I like most.Ive never been cut or taken a black eye while using it.
@csquaredboxing please post a review of rivals RHG30 Mexican training headgear, really tough deciding to buy without being able to try on! T.I.A. also thx for this vid! Cheers Carlo
I would go with the RHG20 just on cost alone. They feel almost identical in comfort and vision with the same amount of cheek/ nose protection. With the RHG10 you're paying for the D30 technology which I think is negligible in a headgear.
What about protection from bursting your eardrum? Is the ear pocket designed to allow more airflow so less chance of blocking the hole up completely of you get hit with a good hook?
Was that a mix up of words when you said you can see hooks coming up? Great vid and review, will most likely be buying, what’s it like not having the chin protection
perry marshall I feel the peripheral vision both vertically and horizontally is really good, so you have better vision range than some other open face headguards (and much better than face saver)
In terms of the chin protection, I find that negligible in boxing because the majority of punches of coming straight at you or from the side. Plus a good mouthguard will disperse the shock of a hit much better than a chin pad.
Thanks for the input, I travel around going to open sparring nights and come across some smaller rings which puts you in the pocket and up close to your opponents, I’ve been looking at the Twins Full Face Head Gear- Premium Leather w/ Lace Up, what are your thoughts on this type of head guard, maybe a new review vid 😀 keep up the great vids.
That looks to be a nice headgear although I havent tried it yet. Twins makes some pretty high quality stuff and the leather is premium. My thoughts on any headguard, is it should have sufficient padding, but the sole purpose of it is to prevent cuts, not to disperse the force of a punch. So I always say get a headguard that offers protection without sacrificing too much vision, because the "pain" you receive from getting punched isnt the actual contact of the punch to your head, its the concussive force behind it; no padding will change that IMO. The same goes with face savers, I find them to be obstructive and also seen people negate head movement because they feel the bar protects their face. Pros use them primarily before a fight to protect themselves from getting cut, or a broken nose so they dont screw up before a fight.
csquaredboxing, makes so much sense, but does make me question why my previous trainer wouldn’t let you in the ring without chin protection, your insight is impressive and I will be sending many boxers to your channel the information you provide is invaluable. Thanks
I have now had a perforated eardrum for the second time. Do you think this head-guard will offer good ear protection if not which one do you recommend?
I’ve never used the RHG2 so I couldn’t tell you from my personal experience. But looking at the Rival website it looks like it has thinner foam, slightly smaller cheek protectors, doesn’t have a top lace adjustment and it has donut padding around the ears unlike the RHG20 that is flat
csquaredboxing ok awesome thanks for your help. Which do you think is better for protecting your ears, the donut padding or the flat one like the RHG20? That’ll probably be the decider for which I buy.
They're identical, both do not use a rounded ear pad, just the padding from the side of the headgear. The D30 headgear only has the d30 padding on the front of the headgear, not on sides where the ears are located.

Please, make a review on rhg-30 headgear
I have that one it's really heavy and bulky and hard to move your head with it offers great protection but hard to see in some situations
@@stevena9231 what's the lightest mexican style headgear?
@@yohanespradono2976 I think all mexican style headgear are pretty heavy tbh because of the protection they offer

I’ll try to get my hands on some!
Hi, may I ask which one do you suggest between the Rival RHG-10 and RHG-20 in your opinion?
Thank you for the nice review!!

+csquaredboxing Thank you so much! it's really helpful !
hi bro ,comparing with RHG-20 ,RHG-10 ,RHG-30 ,which one is the best headgear
What about protection from bursting your eardrum? Is the ear pocket designed to allow more airflow so less chance of blocking the hole up completely of you get hit with a good hook?
Good protection, ear pocket has holes for pressure regulation and ventilation
what ab the rival rhg2 it’s like 5 bucks cheaper and has stitching on the rival emblem as well ? is it better than this one
Are these one size fits all or do they have different sizes. Looking for head gear for my daughter. She's 10 years old
They have different sizes, they come in small, medium, large, and XL

Hmm, this a random sizing question, what cap size do you wear? I use 7 1/4, was wondering if I should get a medium or large.
7 1/2
Have you used the old School RHG2, how do these compare? Is it much larger on he head than the Rhg2?
I haven’t
I have now had a perforated eardrum for the second time. Do you think this head-guard will offer good ear protection if not which one do you recommend?
Yes it will
Does the headgear stretch slightly after long term use?
Yes it does very slightly
Are the rival rhg30 mexican style better than these? It looks almost the same but a bit more expensive for a few dollars
TBH not really, in terms of protection theyre pretty much the same and I actually prefer the 20 more because the vision is better.
Does this headgear cause coliflower ear since it doesn't have a donut whole style for the ears?
No, still has padding on side of ears so the cartilage is protected
@@csquaredboxing thanks!
hey man what headgear are you using currently
This one, my current fave
What’s the difference between this and the RHG2?
Currently trying to decide which to buy- the RHG20 or the RHG2 traditional. I don’t know what differences they have or which you’d recommend

The donut padding, has a little more cushion for the ears so they dont get as sore. You still feel the impact, but the cartilage wont be as tender.
Is the ear protection better than the D30 rhg 10???
They're identical, both do not use a rounded ear pad, just the padding from the side of the headgear. The D30 headgear only has the d30 padding on the front of the headgear, not on sides where the ears are located.
do you have a big head idk how big my head is
Measure it
is it use d3o?
No
RHG-10,20,30 which one is better, Recommend to buy? @@csquaredboxing
What’s better this one or the rhg 10 intelli shock ?
I like this one the same and it’s cheaper
