Blue rice is made from a flower whose colour is blue. It is a natural colour not using colouring. Don't worry Kaz. If we locals knew that the rice is made from colouring, we also would not consume nasi kerabu.
I've hosted students from many countries. Their programme, every each stay is 1 whole year. All these students luv Malaysia. Many of them came back to Malaysia for a visit. Some even brought their parents or their relatives or their friends. I have a few of them return to Malaysia 7 times, 3 times etc.💖
@@mrbadiuzzaman it was my late daughter who initiated it & i just agreed to it. For your info, this programme is volunteer, no payment from or to anybody. If you're keen, I'll try ask around the contact (bcoz now I've lost all contacts).
I suggest... You should invite friend from local (Malaysian) to join you because he can answer and show you how to eat .. how using fork and spoon referred how we used it and hand... Malaysia food is very special ..if we ate not with the right way or mixed... for sure we will not get the right teaste, uniqueness and why it's becoming popular and demanding..✌️🌹.. thank you very much
Wow! All three girls are super friendly and cheerful. Although from different countries, they can still be good friends and have good chemistry with each other. Their English conversation is quite good. They are pretty too..😍
Beautiful latina women💕 they are so nice saying good things about Malaysia, hope they genuinely enjoy staying here for a while.. Kaz, when u take them to eat durian why don't you let them try sambal tempoyak also? Would love to see their reaction😁
Wow Kaz !!! It is so beautiful to see how diverse the group was ! It is heartening to see that despite the differences, you still can have an awesome conversations !! Love this vlog so much ! 🧡

@@samsuddinmeorahmad5483 indeed. As you wrote, the key in this is respect. Who would have thought that Malaysia is a destination of choice for students from Colombia, Costa Rica and France ! The non English speakers ( Spanish and French ) and even from Japan, Korea and China. Like one of the students said about her parents' acceptance of " Malaysia?" as destination of choice. So, there is something right about the quality of education system in Malaysia despite all the bru ha ha ha among our society. It is not perfect, but Malaysia is offering something beyond classroom. They could easily choose Singapore over Malaysia , and they did not.
Kaz, you are so hospitality to all this beautiful student round the country on behalf of Malaysia, you are hero of Malaysia who brings love and care for all this foreigners, as what Malaysian done to you, how grateful you are Kaz, you brings glory to your country Japan, and the Malaysian Malays brings honor to the country land😇😇😇
Knife culture? … we do not have knife culture here because we have finger licking good culture, ie. we normally use our fingers. But you can always ask for knife in most eateries now. Do enjoy our cuisine guys …
When she said that Nasi Kerabu is like a salad, she’s not entirely wrong. There several dishes that similar with salad that we called as kerabu. Kerabu Mangga and Kerabu Maggi to name a few. Just like salad, all have raw vegetables included, as well as well being associated with spicy and sour taste from chillies and limes.
The best way to eat nasi kerabu is mix and eat them with hands.. U can request for more sambal if u like it spicy.. But of course they need to experience it more.. Nice to see new people enjoying Malaysian dishes.. Keep up the good work kaz.. 👍👍
An international buch indeed, Latinas, an African and a Japanese, doing what the locals do.. lepak kedai makan and having a nice chit-chating session.. 👏👏👏 Kaz should have continue the conversation with dessert/teh-tarek/kopi/coffee ☕ at another place
That I wanted to say that Latina, Spaniards, African are underrated to spot in Malaysia especially in vlog travel cause mostly Pakistani, Bangladesh, Korean, Japanese, India, Indonesian, British and so on. This is nice, cause Kaz invite them. About African, I just spot nigerian, Egypt are stay in Malaysia for exchange mostly. Thank you Kaz and arigatou. It's beautiful content that I had watch. 🤌👍
Great reaction girls & boy......Thank you for being in Malaysia enjoy and venture out as much as possible before you going home...please come again in the future....
The lack of knife is a common culture throughout South East Asia. Not just in Malaysia. It has something to do with the fact that rice is the common food eaten in this region.
I've been in international marketing for Malaysian colleges for about 6 yrs and I've never been able to recruit South Americans to Malaysia. I'm so impressed that there are South Americans actually studying in Malaysia
Once i met french algerian couple but they can't speak english at all although they're look like caucasian arab at a glance, but with minimal arabic darija language i learned when i visited sahara deserts a couple years ago i manage to make a decent conversations. Just to share. Hahaha
Congrats Kaz. Your knowledge about Malaysia is impressive. As a person who's lived and studied abroad years ago, I am happy that this episode where foreign students from various countries are taking to life here comfortably im their stride is nice to watch. It brings back memories of the fun of cross cultural interactions of my life as a student life long ago. This is probably one of the best vlogs about Malaysia by a non-Malaysian. Keep it up Kaz. Hope to see your friends featured again in your future vlogs. I've subscribed.
Been there multiple times since my dad worked there for 10 years... it's not the most touristy country but there are interesting places to visit and food to try. learning their culture is also interesting. Not my cup of tea particularly but my dad loves the country and it's people. A bit difficult if you don'r speak arabic or French but can survive
Nasi kerabu eat with budu, fermented ikan bilisor anchovies. In our country budu contains small mussels with kepayang fruit n bean sprout fermented by adding roasted grounded rice.We eat slong with "ambuyat".Sago flour turns into slimy, gluey paste.
Before u eat nasi kerabu, u must mix all the vegie, the sambal ikan.. all of them all evenly. Thats why they call kerabu.. and its best to use hand when eating
There a Borneo Food and Culture showcase held at Pasar Seni KL till 22nd May 2022. This is your chance to do a content about Borneo.. Taste authentic food etc. Recomended Usna Homemade Burger booth.. kek lapis and many more. best in town.
You can always ask for extra sambal tumis gravy sauce for nasi kerabu if you like to eat something with sauces or gravy. And we rarely use fork and spoon how can we use the knife 😂
A spoon is a more flexible utensil for eating in 🇲🇾. A knife does one thing very well but it lacks the 'chemistry' with a fork to tackle the diverse foods in this country😌
She is true like in Kelantan, the authentic Nasi Kerabu we got 'sambal tumis' added which are little bit spicy & sweet to compliment the overall nasi kerabu.
At 14:42 You know why there is no knife normally? Because malay eat with their fingers...no need for knife..just bring it to the mouth and tear the meat to small pieces😀
It is simple why we dont use knife while eating Because we use hand We can hold the chicken and eat them in everyway we want it to be Mix everythings together easier and enjoy the flavours better . You can peel of the prawn and eat them easier
The blue coloring of nasi kerabu is actually from the flower. The plant is known here in Malaysia as pokok telang or scientific name is Clitoria ternatea.. from family fabaceae
Hahah i love Juanita’s accent its so special to heard coz it reminds me of an actress her name is Sofia Vergara 😂❤️ she probably know who Sofia Vergara is, that woman is so hilarious !
Nasi kerabu for me is complete, you vegetarian then just eat the rice with vege and sauce, u dnt like vegetable? after try nasi kerabu u will not have that problem
Depends on what kind of vegetarian. If it"s buddhist vegetarian they can't eat food that has garlic or gravy that has meat in it. But I'm not sure about the stance of western concept of vegetarian.
When they address about the cutleries used in Malaysia, I've noticed all of them used the fork to scoop the rice. Usually in Malaysia, we are thought to hold the spoon with the dominant hand and the fork on the other. the fork is to push the rice onto the spoon. the fork is also used to hold the food in place, while the spoon is used to cut the food like a dull knife. Anyway, thanks for the great video. It's really nice seeing foreigners enjoying Malaysian food.
actually the budu is the sauce in nasi kerabu. if you need more sauce just put in more budu. i guess not enough budu was put in there, that's why the girls said more sauce could make nasi kerabu taste better..
