Excellent recall of the 1970s in Nepal.
I met Roger In 1971 in Namche Bazzar. We had hours of interesting chats and he turned me on to my Teacher, S.N Goenka. For this I have always thanked him. I met him once in El Cerrito, CA a few years later. I wondered what ever happened to him. May he be truly happy.

I was going through the old videos of Kathmandu, and randomly saw Guruji's name. May you be happy! May he be happy! 🤍🤍

What a fantastic interview of Mr Kaplan. (start around 15:00.) One thing he mentions is that already in the 1920's, the propaganda associated weed with Mexican-Americans, saying it caused them to commit heinous crimes and overall to be very, very scary people. Living, as I do, part time in Mexico, I'm always curious what exactly The Powers That Be have up their sleeves, making sure we Gringos stay super afraid of Mexicans when in fact, one can say in general that they're extremely big-hearted people. I remember as a child, early 60s, being turned against them already in elementary school by ridiculous film strips; Mexicans were presented as dirty, backwards ignoramuses. What is the purpose of this? All I can think is, there are long-range plans to invade & conquer the country, and they want us to be fine with that. It's incredible, how long they're been cultivating this ridiculous and horrendous lie.
Curious what part of Mexico do you regularly go to? My partner is from Michoacán and we are hoping to retire there
I was in Kathmandu in 2018. It doesn't look any different in 1970. The hippie types don't look any different either. And yes, still lots of weed.
My dad started business during this time and still continues…
where can i get it? Tell me
I miss those days a lot😒

All the pretty American girls were in nepal back then it seems.
great time
And no one addresses the woman sitting next to Roger. She just sits in silence looking pretty and demure. Oh, wait… The interviewer asks her if she had a hot bath this morning. That was the early 70s all right
I m surprised, they sell Marijuana in tola
Very beautiful❤❤❤❤❤
4:40 - dont know what she is on, but she likes it! :D
I know it was hot over there but dirt was permanent in her darkish colour complexion as she said- No bath for 3 years, like a lot of drug addicts over here .
The reporter is a narc 😂

I can remember when the area around Hanuman Doka looked like this...
Lived in Kathmandu from january 1976 to June 1979, and can still remember the hippies... We did not like them, they smelled, had foul languagem and they where high...
Yeah, generalize and slap a label on them.
I'm sure they didn't like you too.
Aija feri ganja piuna 😂
what a silly interview...that "journalist" seems only interested in who smoked what and where is was sold...
